One-Eyed Monster-Chapter 536 - 533 Stone Container (Part 2)
Recognizing the form of lightning is not a sophisticated skill.
Any Scholar, upon reaching a certain level, can describe the forms of all things. Although Alchemists cannot express these forms in as much detail as Scholars, they can achieve a similar result. Hunters and Fighters, through their methods of discerning overt signs and uncovering hidden truths, can also roughly perceive the forms of all things.
In the world of Adventurers with Class, methods of sensing Spirit Power vary, but the general principle remains the same. Regardless of their profession, they all operate by sensing the surrounding Spirit Power. Without this perception to guide them, they are no different from ordinary people.
The fierce battle on the Moonflow Stream continued. However, at this moment, the monster that could casually assemble itself no longer held a significant advantage. Its once indomitable Black Lightning had unconsciously been restrained by the newcomers.
Perhaps it still didn't understand how these individuals had managed it, but in any case, its once supreme lightning had lost its edge.
All it could do was let out a howl, a sound everyone could recognize as its helpless cry.
This state must have reached the point of hysteria...
Kevin and Milo didn't know how Kadi and the others had managed to subdue the lightning spewed by the monster. Now that its most troublesome attack had been neutralized, it was evidently their moment to strike back.
Their counterattack needed to be more impressive. If they could successfully evade the monster's lightning attacks, they would be fearless. They had a chance to win as long as they could find the monster's weakness in the subsequent assault.
This was indeed an inspiring situation.
He'd never imagined Kadi could become so promising, growing so significantly and quickly without him even noticing, Kevin mused, feeling quite moved.
Not far away, Kadi still stood with his arms crossed, an air of utter dominance about him.
The current Kadi was like a mighty figure who despised everything. The monster posed no threat to him anymore; even its once insurmountable lightning had become ordinary here.
Kadi continued to provoke the agitated monster. In his eyes, nothing was more interesting than this; no matter how hard the opponent tried, it couldn't faze him in the slightest.
This feeling is truly wonderful!
What's going on? Why isn't my three-move combo working at all anymore? This is completely wrong! the monster wondered, utterly baffled.
Just moments ago, I was feeling pretty pleased that my simple three-move combo could bluff these humans. Even though the first two moves were dull, at least the final ace-in-the-hole had some effect. But now? That final move is completely useless, totally shut down by them...
I may be from an Alternate World, but they can't just disrespect me like this! This way of treating visitors is really... uncalled for!
The monster was baffled as to how it had suddenly lost its advantage.
And I was just starting to get used to this world!
This is so unlucky!
The monster let out a series of mournful groans; it was its only way to vent its feelings now.
And across from me, that one-eyed fellow is still spouting rudeness, with that completely provocative look on his face!
I really want to grab that provoker and give him a vicious beating! Arrogant instigators are unwelcome in any world.
The monster also carefully observed the provoker on the other side. Although it had only just begun to adapt to this world, it was barely adjusting to the sense of sight. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
It saw nothing particularly special around this provoker; the only things that stood out were two vibrantly colored stones.
What's the deal with these stones? I don't get it...
These two stones had been ordinary at first, with nothing special about them. But after each lightning strike, they began to change, becoming vibrant with many colors.
If I look closely, it seems like something is moving around inside the stones...
"The method of capturing lightning, well, it's not that complicated." Stan Sol still remembered what that young master, Hustace, had said not long ago.
He had never expected that the method the young man proposed would actually work.
To others, it sounded like the young man was just spouting nonsense, completely ignorant of the natural laws governing all things.
But Stan Sol perceived a different quality in the young man's words.
All things have Spirits, and Spirits have forms; with form comes life, and thus they can be hunted!
These words might have sounded like a madman's ravings, but Stan Sol shuddered after hearing them.
This style... it's just like my brother, Tobin!
Only Tobin would describe everything with such words, and only he could capture lightning...
No wonder Igor was so convinced he could complete the task of capturing lightning!
So that's how it is!
Once Stan Sol understood, he couldn't wait to come to the Moonflow Stream.
"Fishing requires bait, hunting wild boars requires traps; similarly, capturing lightning also requires a container."
The container Hustace spoke of consisted of these two stone blocks.
Stone containers, used to capture lightning!
Igor's eyes shone brightly. Watching the monster gradually shift from a position of advantage to disadvantage, he was filled with a multitude of emotions.
In Igor's eyes, Hustace was very impressive. He always knew some rather obscure things. These things might seem insignificant, but when actually applied, they produced vastly different effects.
Igor used to ask Hustace, "Where do you learn all these strange and bizarre things?"
Hustace would always reply quite seriously that he had read them in books.
Yet, even from the same book, I could never see what Hustace saw...
Perhaps it really is a matter of talent...
Regardless, Hustace had indeed made a crucial contribution at this critical juncture; he had successfully taught Stan Sol how to capture lightning.
This skill was incredibly difficult for others. Even Stan Sol himself found it strange. When Hustace described the lightning as a young deer, Stan Sol could instantly devise a trap to capture it. He would weave a net with Spirit Power and set the trap, succeeding every single time.
Once captured by Stan Sol, the lightning would jump around chaotically. That was when Igor's role became crucial: he could transfer this lightning into ordinary stones. As for the method he used, Igor himself couldn't explain it clearly.
Igor said that Hustace had instructed him on what to do.
With the captured lightning placed inside the stone containers, Hustace directed the process like a true commander. His commands rendered the once formidable lightning harmless.
This left everyone speechless.
Even Igor was amazed by Hustace's ability. Only Hustace could perceive the lightning's true form; others couldn't, as lightning was far too fast. Moreover, no one else could have guessed that these stones were actually containers, let alone containers capable of holding lightning!
