One-Eyed Monster-Chapter 504 - 501: The Mysterious Place
The Great Mentor led the team to fight back, and they quickly gained ground. Stan Sol and Igor, who had been suppressed, gradually emerged from their dire situation and were now able to move freely within the new Inner World.
Joseph's Eagle Eye continuously provided reliable information to Yuga and Kuren. The Great Mentor was trying to pull out the sun. The Wind Elemental, battling the swirling tidal waves, became entangled with parts of the deluge. The seawater in the sky, along with storm clouds and lightning, created an ominous tableau, filled with the sounds of howling wind and thunderous roars.
In terms of numbers, the Great Mentor and his team had the advantage.
Even if Estev, Kadi, and the Witch Spirit possessing Hustace couldn't fully enter the Inner World, their observations still provided valid advice. Especially Kadi, whose suggestions, though sometimes seeming absurd, were actually effective when implemented. The Great Mentor had only recently discovered this through observation.
Thus, at this moment, the Great Mentor wouldn't dismiss anyone's opinions.
Kuren's Spirit Painting was indeed miraculous, capable of absorbing lightning—something even Igor hadn't anticipated. How could a painting dissolve lightning? In fact, Kuren wasn't absorbing the lightning but rather concealing it within his Spirit Painting, effectively displacing it elsewhere. This newfound understanding of the Spirit Painting and the World Setting Technique was all thanks to Igor.
The advantage was wholly theirs, and Kadi began to feel optimistic. The enemy must surely be ready to surrender now.
If things were truly as Kadi perceived, then Wizard Reed might as well surrender.
However, this was precisely the outcome Wizard Reed desired. He had decided to fight with all his might, holding nothing back.
He had fully unleashed the spell Willem had given him, intending to draw out all hidden adversaries.
He could once again feel the Spirit Power from the Fossil Key, but he knew it was merely an illusion. He was determined to force the real ones out!
With that, he removed his cloak and shook it, sending a flurry of snowflakes into the air. He missed his Obsidian Staff, which he had sacrificed to cast Willem's spell.
Strangely, Willem seemed to have a deep understanding of Guru Mountain. He had specifically instructed Wizard Reed to go to Moonflow Stream to deploy this spell, repeatedly reminding him to do so near the singing stream at nightfall.
Wizard Reed obeyed Willem's commands without question, despite finding them bizarre. He wouldn't question Willem, believing him capable of changing the world. This was why they couldn't understand his requests.
However, none of that mattered now. He hadn't followed Willem's plan, preparing instead to risk everything. According to Willem's design, this spell was merely a trap, meant to allow him to leave Moonflow Stream earlier and relocate.
But he did not act according to this design; instead, he adhered to his long-standing belief: chaos!
While Willem's original aim was also to create chaos, Wizard Reed felt a twinge of dissatisfaction at this moment. He wanted to see just how much unknown power truly existed on Guru Mountain.
What puzzled him most was the gigantic bird. It refused to leave, stubbornly battling the swirling waves. These waves, driven by furious winds, continuously battered the bird, yet it did not retreat. It appeared invincible!
Unimaginable.
Wizard Reed was not the only one intrigued by this bird. Igor was equally surprised, even though he was the one who had summoned it.
Logically, Igor's Inner World should no longer exist. What was present now was a superimposition of the Great Mentor's Inner World and the enemy's phenomenon, which resembled an Inner World. The bird's continued presence made no sense. Firstly, Igor hadn't expended any Spirit Power to sustain it. Secondly, after the bird had ascended with the seawater, it no longer obeyed Igor's commands!
This strange situation plunged Igor into deep thought. Something felt terribly wrong!
What astounded Igor equally was the enemy's strength. Even though their seniors had arrived to help resist and counterattack, the enemy showed no sign of retreating. Although their current position seemed precarious, their unwavering response was the most unsettling. They could be preparing a devastating move.
As Igor had anticipated, Wizard Reed was indeed preparing a major move, one involving the Malice Spirit Entities he had painstakingly collected. Although a pang of reluctance struck him, he reasoned that if he obtained the secret of Guru Mountain, he could acquire as many Malice Spirit Entities as he desired in the future. With that thought, he felt at peace with the decision. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
The immediate gain or loss was only for future rewards. So, these Malice Spirit Entities didn't count for much.
With the contracts for the Malice Spirit Entities in hand, he could command this moderately sized force to do anything.
His first instinct was still to set up a battle formation, attack, and use the formation to force all enemies out.
He activated one-third of the contracts, intending only to bolster the current standoff, not yet planning a full-on counterattack.
He was waiting—waiting for the other monsters on this mountain to reveal themselves.
His clones had sensed those creatures earlier, but now the connections to these clones were lost. Clearly, the creatures had defeated his clones.
He knew those hidden creatures were about to appear.
All he needed to do now was add a little more 'spice' to the situation.
One-third of the Malice Spirit Entities was sufficient; the released malice was enough for him to wield his Death Power.
A Dark Wizard who employed Death Power was another matter entirely.
His body was no longer his own—it was just a shell. He was filled with a deathly aura because he could already project his thoughts outside his body. In a sense, he could already be considered half-Undead.
The appearance of the Dark Force was intended merely to agitate the hidden creatures. A heavy blow here would undoubtedly force those lurking in the depths to emerge.
Wizard Reed's purpose was to create chaos, and he had evidently succeeded.
He drained one-third of the Malice Spirit Entities, absorbing their essence to form Death Power. Its emergence immediately alerted the Great Mentor, who noticed this Power of Darkness spreading rapidly. If unchecked, it could envelop all of Guru Mountain in a deathly aura, much like Dawn Peak. They could not allow this spread to continue.
Instantly, a tremendous force surged within the Great Mentor's Inner World. The storm clouds grew blacker, lightning strikes became more frequent, and the spinning seawater grew even more powerful!
However, these changes still didn't affect the bird. It continued to screech, flapping wings long battered out of shape by the seawater...
