Official Career Storm-Chapter 1345
The middle-aged policeman finished speaking, and the young man said, "Let's withdraw the lawsuit."
"Such worthless wretches."
"You should've cooperated a long time ago, instead of getting beaten up."
"You low-life scum, you should just die."
After cursing, the middle-aged policeman tossed his cigarette butt on the ground, stomped it out with his shoe, and stood up, saying, "Let's go now."
The two of them climbed off the bed, silently changed out of their blood-stained hospital gowns, and put on their own clothes.
Leaving the hospital, the middle-aged policeman drove them to the Guanqian Road Police Station.
"I'll be watching you from here."
The middle-aged policeman said.
The two got out of the car, and as they were about to leave, they suddenly asked, "What's your name?"
The middle-aged policeman squinted his eyes, "Why? Planning to get back at me?"
The young man said nothing, just stared at him.
That look made the middle-aged policeman very uncomfortable: "Lower your head."
The young man clenched his fists and lowered his head in humiliation.
"Remember, my name is Feng Jian."
"Now, get inside and withdraw the lawsuit!"
The two turned around and walked into the police station.
Chief Qian didn't go back home tonight; he knew this wouldn't end quickly.
Sure enough, an officer on duty came in to inform him that those two young men had returned to withdraw their lawsuit.
Apparently, Ma Wenhui had pressured them.
When Chief Qian arrived at the reception hall, he saw Zhou Xin's parents still there.
Zhou Xin's parents didn't know the two young men who just came in were the ones their son had beaten.
Seeing Chief Qian, they assumed Ma Wenhui had settled things and quickly stood up, "Chief Qian, has my son been released?"
"No."
Chief Qian shook his head and walked towards the two young men, "Are you sure you want to withdraw the lawsuit..."
Before he could finish, he suddenly noticed that the two men were bruised and swollen, completely different from when they came in last night.
It was obvious they'd been beaten.
Chief Qian sternly asked, "What happened to your faces?"
Their eyes dodged, and they didn't respond.
Chief Qian asked, "Did someone force you to withdraw the lawsuit?"
Once Zhou Jun and his wife heard this, they immediately understood who these two people were.
"You're here to withdraw the lawsuit?"
"Chief Qian, they want to withdraw, hurry and process it for them!"
"Shut up!" Chief Qian unexpectedly shouted, startling the couple.
A mere chief, using such a tone with them.
But, there was something intimidating in Chief Qian's eyes, and the couple dared not make a sound.
"Follow me."
Chief Qian turned and headed towards his office.
Upon entering the office, Chief Qian poured two cups of hot water using disposable cups.
Seeing the two young men sitting uneasily and clearly very tense, Chief Qian said, "I'm not forcing you to say anything."
"But I'll explain the situation to you, so you understand what's going on."
"Those two people outside are Zhou Xin's parents."
"They've contacted someone, who reached out to the deputy director, and the deputy director is now pressuring you to withdraw the lawsuit."
"But the director already knows about this. The director's attitude is my attitude."
"If you insist on withdrawing the lawsuit, I'll inform the director. Do you understand?"
The two were a bit puzzled; Feng Jian said it was the director who named them to withdraw the lawsuit.
They instinctively thought it was the director of the Police Department.
Turns out, it was the deputy director?
And from what Chief Qian said, the director seems to be on the opposite side of the deputy director?
Although they weren't part of the system, they could tell which was higher, the director or the deputy director.
"Who hit you in the face?"
Their mental defenses were already shaken, and upon hearing the question, they didn't hide it: "It was a policeman named Feng Jian."
Then they added: "He said if we didn't come to withdraw the lawsuit, he'd arrest us for assaulting a cop."
Chief Qian asked, "He said that?"
"Yes, I have evidence."
The young man took out his phone and played a recording for him.
After listening, Chief Qian's face turned grim.
He knew there were some rotten apples in the police force, but he never thought they'd be so lawless.
"Send me the recording."
"Chief Qian..."
"Rest assured, with me here, nothing will happen to you."
The young men weren't sure whether to trust him, but they didn't have a better option at the moment.
They knew they were just cannon fodder.
They had no control over the outcome, whether good or bad.
At least this Chief Qian seemed like a good cop.
So, they sent over the recording.
Chief Qian didn't avoid them; he called Liang Jianfeng right in front of them.
To his surprise, Liang Jianfeng answered quickly, sounding a bit tired, clearly having been asleep.
But there was no annoyance about being disturbed in his sleep.
"Director Liang, sorry to call you so late..."
"It's okay, what can I do for you, Chief Qian?"
"It's like this..."
Chief Qian explained the situation in detail.
"Send me the recording."
"Alright."
A few minutes later, Liang Jianfeng called back.
"Have the victims report it, then arrest them."
Chief Qian's eyelid twitched: "Arrest whom?"
"Whoever beat the victims, arrest them."
Chief Qian took a deep breath: "I understand."
Putting down the phone, Chief Qian called to have the officer on duty come over.
"Chief Qian, you called for me?"
"They want to report a crime."
The two young men didn't understand; report a crime? Report what?
Chief Qian said, "They were beaten in the hospital; take their statements."
This time they understood and suddenly felt very excited.
Could Chief Qian be planning to arrest Feng Jian?
The officer on duty gave an "Oh" and took them to take their statements.
Once the statements were done, the officer was a bit stunned.
The one who assaulted them was actually a policeman!
The officer had them sit for a while, then took the statements to Chief Qian.
After reading them, Chief Qian said: "Take them to the hospital for a medical exam and arrest him tomorrow."
The officer thought Chief Qian hadn't read carefully and reminded him: "Chief Qian, this Feng Jian is a policeman from the Pingtan District Branch."
Chief Qian countered, "And then?"
The officer understood; Chief Qian knew everything.
"It's nothing, I'll take them for the medical exam now."
...
Feng Jian didn't leave; he parked his car across the street from the police station and stayed inside.
He wanted to see Zhou Xin come out.
However, he didn't see Zhou Xin come out; instead, a police car drove out.
In the dark of night, he didn't see that the two young men were sitting in the car.
As it got later, Feng Jian clearly felt something was wrong.
It was already past two in the morning, why hadn't Zhou Xin been released yet?
In the reception hall, even Zhou Jun and his wife, as slow as they were, knew something had changed.
Ma Wenhui hadn't been effective.
Or rather, they had underestimated Song Guanchao's strength.
Obviously just a district chief of a Prefecture-level City, yet even a deputy director from the provincial capital could do nothing against him.
"Let's go."
Zhou Jun said, face darkened, as he walked out.
Mrs. Zhou looked equally displeased and followed him out of the police station.
They didn't contact Ma Wenhui again; at this point, there was no urgency.
