Obsessed with a High-Ranking Esper (BL)-Chapter 204: Suspicious bite mark
Jian Ci knew he was lying but he couldn’t prove it. Of course, Yu Xi was enjoying it. He was always the one getting poked in the butt and this time, it was Jian Ci’s turn.
Jian Ci nodded, though his soul was slowly leaving his body from sheer embarrassment.
"Okay," he muttered.
The second injection was quick. "There," Yu Xi said, standing and disposing of the injectors.
Jian Ci straightened, rubbing the back of his neck. "If you feel unwell, tell me," Yu Xi said, already turning toward the bathroom.
"I will," Jian Ci replied, voice quieter now. "Don’t worry."
Yu Xi nodded. "I am going to take a shower."
He turned to leave, but Jian Ci reached out and caught his arm. "Wait."
Yu Xi paused, looking back at him with that patient, unreadable expression.
Jian Ci opened his mouth, hesitated. He wanted to ask again about the flowers. About what he thought he saw. About the memory that didn’t feel like a dream.
But instead, he sighed and said, "It’s nothing."
Yu Xi studied him for a moment. "You sure?"
Jian Ci nodded and let go of his arm. "Yeah."
Yu Xi gave him one last glance, then disappeared into the bathroom, the door sliding shut behind him.
Jian Ci stood there, staring at the new flowers in the vase, the scent of them faint in the air. He didn’t know what was real anymore. But he knew Yu Xi was hiding something.

The bathroom was still warm with steam when Jian Ci stepped inside, the scent of amber and vanilla clinging to the air like a memory. He peeled off his shirt, tossing it aside, and ran his fingers through his damp hair, trying to shake the lingering fog in his head.
Then he winced. A sharp sting bloomed across his shoulder, and he turned toward the mirror, frowning. He twisted slightly, angling his body to get a better look and he froze.
There, on the curve of his shoulder, was a bite mark. Not a faint graze, not an accidental scrape, but a distinct, deliberate imprint of teeth. It was healing, but it was still vivid.
Jian Ci stared at it, rubbing the skin gently as if it might vanish under his touch. But it didn’t. It was real. Someone had sunk their chompers into him last night when he had been out of it.
And there was only one person who could have been that close. His breath caught in his chest, his fingers trembling slightly. The shock on his face was raw, unfiltered, and utterly visible in the mirror.
He bolted out of the bathroom, bare feet thudding against the floor. "Little Xi?" he called, rushing into the bedroom but it was empty.
"Where did he go now..." Jian Ci muttered, pacing once before stopping. He clenched his fists, then exhaled. "Later, I will ask him later."
—
Later came with the soft hiss of the door opening.
Yu Xi stepped in, bags in hand, casual as ever. "Let’s go have breakfast," he said, as if nothing had happened.
Jian Ci stood from the bed, eyes narrowing. "Where did you go?"
Yu Xi didn’t miss a beat. "Had to get my boyfriend some breakfast first. He said he didn’t sleep well and won’t be able to make it."
Something in Jian Ci’s chest twisted. He didn’t know why. He just knew something felt off.
They stepped into the elevator, the silence between them thick with unspoken things. Jian Ci leaned against the railing, arms crossed. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"Does your boyfriend know," he asked slowly, "that you threw away his flowers?"
Yu Xi leaned back against the opposite wall, one brow arching. "Nope. Are you going to snitch on me?"
He turned his head, meeting Jian Ci’s gaze with those unreadable, intense eyes.
Jian Ci’s breath hitched. His ears burned. He looked away quickly. "No. Nope. I was just asking."
Yu Xi tilted his head, studying him. "You are acting weird today."
Jian Ci didn’t answer. He just stared at the elevator doors, heart pounding, the phantom sting of teeth still burning on his skin.
Yu Xi turned and stepped in front of Jian Ci, blocking his path with quiet precision. He didn’t say anything at first. He just stood there, watching him.
Jian Ci shifted uncomfortably. "What."
"You are jumpy," Yu Xi said, voice low and even.
"I am not," Jian Ci replied too quickly.
Yu Xi tilted his head, eyes narrowing slightly. "You are terrible at lying, you know that."
Before Jian Ci could respond, the elevator doors slid open with a soft chime. This was his way out.
"Let’s go, we are blocking the way," Jian Ci muttered, brushing past Yu Xi like the conversation hadn’t happened.
Yu Xi followed, hand in his pocket, his gaze lingering on Jian Ci’s back. A group of students passed them in the corridor, offering polite greetings. Yu Xi nodded in return, but his attention never wavered.
Something was definitely off. At breakfast, it became even more obvious. Jian Ci barely touched his food, but his eyes rarely left Yu Xi. Not his face but his mouth. He kept staring, like he was trying to solve a puzzle he didn’t want to admit existed.
Yu Xi, for his part, had already forgotten the bite. Who could blame him? Last night had been a blur of heat and instinct, of psychic static and pleasure so intense it had left him dizzy. He hadn’t exactly been in his right mind.
"What are you looking at?" Yu Xi asked, catching Jian Ci mid-stare.
Jian Ci cleared his throat, eyes darting away. "Nothing."
He looked down at his plate, then picked up a whole fruit. It was crispy and juicy, perfect for his plan. "Mm. Here. Take a bite."
Yu Xi raised a brow. "Why."
"I am offering you fruit out of the kindness of my heart, and you ask why?" Jian Ci said, feigning offense.
"Stop being dramatic," Yu Xi said, amused. "Give it to me."
He leaned in and took a bite, teeth sinking into the fruit with a satisfying crunch. Jian Ci immediately stretched out his hand, and Yu Xi handed the fruit back without question.
"You want something to drink?" Yu Xi asked, already rising.
"Yes. Yes, yes... the usual," Jian Ci said quickly, a little too eager.
Yu Xi gave him a curious look but didn’t press. "Alright."
As soon as Yu Xi was out of sight, Jian Ci tapped his communicator, opened a scanning app and hovered it over the bitten fruit.
He captured the bite’s dimensions, mapping every ridge and indentation.
He pulled up the scan of the bite mark on his shoulder and sent them both to Jian Wei with a single message: Tell me if it’s a match.
Then he sat back, staring at the fruit in his hand, heart pounding in his chest.
