Chapter 147: You touch it too much.

Yu Xi dropped his head into his hands, biting his lower lip so hard he almost drew blood. His cock was a furious, throbbing ache trapped in his pants. Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck. He pressed the heels of his palms against his closed eyes, seeing nothing but the image of Jian Ci in that towel, the water on his skin, the way his throat moved when he drank.

"Calm down," he whispered to himself, a desperate, ragged command. "Just fucking calm down."

But his body wasn’t listening. Every nerve was alive, screaming for the touch he had just had, for the taste of Jian Ci’s mouth, for the feel of that wet, perfect skin under his hands. He ran his fingers through his hair, tugging at the roots, exhaling a long, shuddering breath that did nothing to settle him.

This was dangerous. Jian Ci was fucking dangerous. He was a walking, talking fantasy that Yu Xi had tried to lock away for months, and now that fantasy was walking around, in a towel, drinking tea and asking for gummy bears unaware that he had just wrecked Yu Xi completely.

He stayed there, crouched in the hallway light, trying to coax his body back under control. The hard ridge in his pants refused to subside. Every beat of his heart seemed to pulse through his cock, a relentless, needy rhythm. He thought about cold showers. He thought about the exam tomorrow. He thought about anything but the feel of Jian Ci’s skin under his hands, the sound of that groan, the sight of water tracking down the valley of his spine.

It was all useless.

The drone’s metallic voice echoed outside their window, announcing the wake-up call before the crack of dawn. Yu Xi stirred immediately, his discipline kicking in, and sat up. He glanced at Jian Ci, who was still sprawled on the bed, mumbling incoherently as he shuffled under the blanket.

"You only have thirty minutes, get up," Yu Xi said firmly, tossing a pillow at him.

Jian Ci groaned, catching it against his chest. "I am up, I am up," he muttered, though his sluggish movements betrayed him.

Yu Xi hurried into the bathroom, brushing his teeth with quick, efficient strokes. Jian Ci wandered in moments later, standing behind him. Their eyes met in the mirror, Jian Ci’s expression unusually serious. "I hate that we are not in the same team," he said quietly.

Yu Xi bent down to spit out the foam, rinsing his mouth before replying, "It’s only three days."

Jian Ci leaned forward, resting his forehead against Yu Xi’s shoulder. "When my brother gets married, I am going to screw with his wedding as payback."

Yu Xi chuckled, shaking his head. "Isn’t that a bit extreme?"

Jian Ci tugged off his t-shirt, smirking. "You know I am extreme."

Yu Xi laughed softly, watching him step into the shower. When Jian Ci finished, Yu Xi slipped in next, their routine seamless.

Exactly thirty minutes later, both of them were out the door and walking side by side in the hallway.

Jian Ci trailed behind Yu Xi, his voice carrying a playful complaint. "Why won’t you let me help you with your hair today? You just put it in a bun to torture me."

Yu Xi stopped at the elevator, his tone calm but firm. "It would take too long. And you burnt my ear last time."

Jian Ci winced. "That was an accident."

The elevator doors slid open, and they stepped inside. As the doors closed, Jian Ci pressed on, his voice softer but insistent. "You said you wouldn’t hold it against me. I really didn’t mean to."

Yu Xi sighed, shaking his head.

The elevator stopped again, and four cadets entered, greeting them with a polite, "Good morning."

Yu Xi and Jian Ci replied in kind, shifting to make space. Jian Ci, however, leaned closer to Yu Xi, lowering his voice to a whisper. "You really won’t let me touch it again?"

Yu Xi whispered back, his tone edged with exasperation. "You touch it too much. You touch it every day. I didn’t let you do it today, and now you are whining about it."

The problem was that they were surrounded by espers. Every word was heard, no matter how softly spoken.

The cadets facing forward stiffened, their eyes widening in shock. Touch what? That was the question burning in their minds, though none dared to turn around.

Jian Ci leaned closer, his voice low but insistent. "Come on, I wanted to do it today. I won’t be around you for three days... that’s months in dog years."

Yu Xi turned his head, giving him a sharp look. "Are you a dog?"

Jian Ci smirked, unbothered. "Kind of."

The cadets standing stiffly in the elevator shifted uneasily. What the hell did they just hear? Their minds raced, wondering if Jian Ci would silence them for overhearing such bizarre words.

Yu Xi whispered angrily, his tone clipped. "Just this one time I didn’t let you blow dry my hair, and you are throwing a tantrum."

"But I won’t be able to for the next three days," Jian Ci replied, his lips pulling into a pout, his expression pitiful.

Yu Xi fell silent, exasperated. "..."

The elevator doors finally opened, and both Jian Ci and Yu Xi stepped out. Yu Xi muttered, "I will compensate you later. Happy?"

Jian Ci’s face lit up instantly. "Yes, I am so happy."

Behind them, the cadets exhaled in relief, thinking they hadn’t heard anything worth dying over. But then realization struck. Wait... which grown Esper would be eager to blow dry another Esper’s hair?

The thought unsettled them, branding Jian Ci in their minds as something of a creep.

Meanwhile, Jian Ci remained blissfully unaware, jogging after Yu Xi with a grin, his heart light, his mind focused only on keeping close to him.

Alarna was busy in the storage hall, her eyes scanning the neat rows of supplies prepared for their team. The guide responsible for ensuring everything was accounted for was Leane, a diligent cadet who had carefully gathered every item requested. The boxes were stacked and waiting to be packed away, and Alarna had volunteered to help carry them. Leane, exhausted from the day’s work, gratefully accepted her assistance.

When Leane left to fetch the last supply box, Alarna found herself alone among the crates. Her gaze darted around the room, checking for cameras. There were none. The corners were bare, no surveillance in sight. Her fingers slipped into her pocket, pulling out a syringe and a vial. Her father’s instructions echoed in her mind. All she needed was five milliliters in Jian Ci’s favorite drink.
