Not Being a Trainer This Time-Chapter 562 - 317: I Don’t Want the Big Fish, I Only Want You
The three Pokémon risked their lives, finally driving the ghost back into the mountains. The villagers affectionately called these brave creatures the Loyal Three and gave them a proper burial, building statues of them at the site.
"Interesting." Naoki was intrigued; Pokémon killing other Pokémon?
If there were content like this in the games, it would be the first time he’d seen such a straightforward depiction of Pokémon death.
However, from this legend, it seems the ghost didn’t actually die, it was just driven into the mountains, while the three Loyal Three perished.
Three against one and they were wiped out... How powerful must that ghost have been?
At this moment, Naoki looked up to see what lay ahead. Upon seeing the distant scene, he knew in his heart: Kitakami had arrived.
Looking down from the sky, Kitakami features towering mountains, with the foothills serving as a living space for people. Nestled here is a quaint, Japanese-style rural town.
The town is surrounded by farmland, apple orchards, and other serene landscapes that differ from the Paldea Region.
"Is this Kitakami?" Naoki’s eyes sparkled as he admired the idyllic countryside.
He had to admit, this place was quite nice!
He looked down at the road below, then patted Koraidon’s back, signaling it to descend.
Because Mayor Thomas had said there would be someone at the station to pick him up and take him to Mossui Town.
When Koraidon landed at the roadside bus stop, Naoki indeed saw an elderly woman with white hair.
He stepped forward and showed his ID badge, which made the old woman express a surprised look.
"W-where did you come from?"
Naoki smiled slightly and pointed to Koraidon behind him, saying, "My Pokémon flew me here."
"You really startled me; I didn’t see a bus, and now I know why! Hello, Naoki, welcome to Kitakami. I am Yukiko from the community center. Come on, I’ll take you into town!" said the elderly woman named Yukiko.
"Thank you very much." Naoki politely thanked her, and then followed Yukiko along the concrete road, with Koraidon behind him.
Kitakami has a twelve-hour time difference with the Paldea Region, and they had spent considerable time on the road; it was almost dark by the time they got there.
Naoki looked around, gazing at Pokémon in the grass that were hard to see in the Paldea Region.
Spinarak, Poochyena, Sewaddle...
Gradually, as Mossui Town drew nearer, neat patches of rice fields began to appear along the road.
Even more surprisingly, Naoki found Corphish and Wooper in these rice fields!
Yukiko kindly explained, "Wooper and Corphish help make the soil of the fields more fertile, which aids the growth of the rice. A long time ago, the town had these two Pokémon helping out in the rice paddies."
Naoki was filled with questions.
Wouldn’t Corphish damage the rice in the fields?
If he remembered correctly, Wooper’s skin mucus was said to be poisonous, right?
After passing through the rice field area, they officially entered Mossui Town.
This rural town wasn’t as bustling as Porto Marinada Town; there were few people here, specifically, few young people.
It was evening time; many elderly folks had just finished dinner and were leisurely strolling around town.
The town was paved with complete concrete roads, appearing very clean and tidy—typical of a Japanese style.
Like Porto Marinada Town, Pokémon were visible everywhere here.
Swinubs following Trainers, Hoothoot resting on rooftops, and several Vulpix lounging on eaves, all fluffy and furry.
Naoki was immediately captivated by those Vulpix.
Wow! There are actually Vulpix here!
The fluffy warm Vulpix, with white bellies, were so adorable!
Koraidon, seeing Naoki’s expression, showed a resigned look: "Ah gah hiss..."
It’s starting again.
