Chapter 806: Chapter 802: He Is Not My Dad

"Hello..." Teacher Lee was about to say something, but as soon as she saw the incredibly handsome man standing behind Alexander, she was at a loss for words.

The words that followed got stuck in her throat.

Asher Land noticed Teacher Lee’s lingering gaze and felt somewhat uncomfortable.

Seeing Asher’s displeased expression, Teacher Lee snapped back to reality.

"Hello, Mr. Land."

Teacher Lee had caught a glimpse of Asher Land on TV once before, although it was just for a few minutes, the impression was undeniably deep.

Asher merely nodded slightly without saying more.

He handed the cartoon backpack he was holding to Alexander. Taking the backpack, Alexander happily walked into the classroom. Thankfully, this troublesome uncle drove well, fast and steady, and didn’t make him late.

Asher watched as Alexander sat down at his seat before feeling at ease; he then turned to leave.

"Alexander, your dad is so handsome," Little Mary said, gazing at Asher’s departing figure through the window, her hands propping her round little chin, practically drooling.

Little Mary was Alexander’s desk mate. Although she was only five, she considered herself to have ’seen many men,’ a bona fide little fanatic.

"He’s not my dad," Alexander seriously advised Little Mary, "Don’t talk nonsense."

"Oh my, that’s just unfortunate for you. Such a handsome uncle, it would be great if he were my dad."

Alexander snorted coldly to himself, worrying for Little Mary’s taste. What was so good about this uncle? His temper was really terrible, wasn’t it?

Alexander hadn’t been seated for long when Teacher Lee came over.

"Alexander, was that your dad who just dropped you off?"

Teacher Lee had a gossipy expression on her face.

"No," Alexander replied a bit impatiently.

"Oh, then who is he to you?"

"Just an unfamiliar uncle. My mommy couldn’t bring me today because she’s busy, so she asked him to help."

In a mature tone, Alexander said, "Honestly, I didn’t want to trouble him at all."

Seeing Alexander uninterested in talking, Teacher Lee awkwardly backed away but suddenly remembered something and returned.

"Oh, right, Alexander, who will you participate with in the parent-child sports day? Your mommy or your dad?"

"My mommy has work and can’t come."

"What about your dad?"

Dad?

Alexander silently repeated the word in his heart.

"My dad doesn’t have time either."

In his memory, there was no such person as dad.

He lowered his head, his eyes full of disappointment.

...

Sophie Smith arrived at the company, glanced at the time, and fortunately wasn’t late.

"Sophie, you’re here. The director and actors of your new drama are waiting for you in the lounge," Julia Brown approached and led her into the lounge.

Two hours after Ana Scott’s scandal broke, the new drama’s producer called to inform her that they decided to cast her as the female lead. She knew, most likely, this had something to do with Asher Land.

The lounge door opened, Sophie entered with a polite smile, her gaze sweeping the room. Suddenly, her smile froze.

She saw two old acquaintances.

Edward Harrison, Isabella Yates.

"Little Sophie." Compared to Sophie’s shock, Edward remained exceptionally calm.

After so many years, Isabella’s gaze was as unfriendly as ever.
