Noble Pampering: Demon CEO's Relentless Entanglement-Chapter 680 - 676: I Look Forward to Your Gratitude (3)
Although Nolan Davis didn’t allow Sophie Smith to cook, Sophie was determined to make a meal for him.
While busy in the kitchen, she kept recalling what Nolan had said to her not long ago.
He had said, if you make me happy today, it’s worth a billion, if not, then it’s worth nothing. So, have you thought about how to do it?
How to do it?
Sophie frowned, her thoughts flew far away, how could she make Nolan happy?
"Little Sophie."
Suddenly Nolan spoke, Sophie was startled, and the knife slipped from her hand, cutting her index finger.
"Hiss..." She pressed her bleeding finger with her thumb and couldn’t help but inhale sharply from the pain.
"Are you okay?" Nolan hurriedly approached her, "I told you not to cook, and you still did. Now you’ve hurt yourself. How can I eat your food with peace of mind?"
Although his words carried a tone of blame, his actions did not.
He quickly ran upstairs, fetched the medical kit, and took out a band-aid to put on her cut.
"I’m fine, Mr. Davis, it’s just a minor wound..." Sophie felt a bit embarrassed. She was always clumsy when cooking, how could she satisfy Nolan later?
"Just make a couple of simple dishes, my appetite isn’t great."
He was worried she would get exhausted from making too many dishes.
"Oh." Hearing Nolan’s words, Sophie really just made two simple dishes. While eating, the two of them sat opposite each other, and out of nowhere, Sophie picked up some food with her chopsticks and placed it in Nolan’s bowl.
He was visibly surprised for a moment, his hand holding the chopsticks was somewhat stiff, but he just smiled slightly and then finished all the food she had given him.
Overall, Nolan seemed to enjoy this meal.
After dinner, the two of them sat in the backyard garden, basking in the sun, enjoying this rare leisurely time.
Nolan crossed his long legs, with a laptop on his lap, his fingers freely tapping, eyes focused and spirited.
Sophie sat beside, flipping through the latest entertainment magazines, though her English wasn’t that good, so reading such foreign magazines was still somewhat challenging for her.
To be honest, this day wasn’t particularly fulfilling, most of the time they spent in silence.
Sophie thought to herself that it must be over, Nolan would definitely not be satisfied with how she performed today.
The last bit of light disappeared from the horizon, silently merging into night.
After showering, Sophie sat at the vanity table in a light blue silk nightgown, applying some skincare products.
The door opened, and Nolan stepped in.
Sophie stood up, her hands behind her back, involuntarily wanting to step back, but she resisted the urge.
Because she knew if she really showed resistance to Nolan, maybe he would get angry.
"Can you help me dry my hair?" He asked calmly, and Sophie looked at his still wet hair, nodding without hesitation.
He sat on the chair, and Sophie stood behind him, her slender fingers softly running through his hair with a very skilled motion.
Nolan closed his eyes and enjoyed for a while, his lips couldn’t help but curl up.
There was a sadness in her heart, a sense of loss. The days she could stay by his side like this were really numbered, calculable in minutes and seconds.
