Chapter 612: Chapter 608: The War Between Two Men (5)

"Sophie, has it arrived yet?" Eva leaned her head against the window, wondering if she could escape this ’sea of misery’. She truly couldn’t stand the strange atmosphere any longer.

"Yes, we’ve arrived, we’ve arrived." Sophie also felt relieved, struggling to get out of the car.

But the men on both sides, whether intentionally or not, showed no sign of moving.

"Uh, haven’t we arrived..."

Why is no one getting up?

Sophie’s expression froze slightly, men’s thoughts are really hard to guess.

Nolan got up first and walked out. Sophie was just about to go out on his side, but was held back by Asher.

"What’s wrong?" Sophie was puzzled.

He hesitated to speak, but after considering for a moment, he decided to voice his thoughts, "It’s so late already, son, has he gone to bed, right...?"

Son?

Upon hearing him mention this, and seeing his expression, Sophie seemed to understand why it was like this. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

This man is actually quite awkward. Obviously, he misses his son a lot, yet he doesn’t want his concern and longing to be too evident.

"Whether he’s asleep or not, you’ll know when you go up and check later, won’t you?" She lifted the corners of her lips, getting out of the car with an air of ease, but Asher seemed somewhat nervous no matter how he looked.

Asher was the last to enter the hall. Nolan and Eva were already sitting on the sofa, while Sophie stood there, seemingly waiting for him for quite some time.

"Eva, Mr. Davis, you both chat first, I’ll go see if the child is asleep." With that, she walked up to Asher, holding his arm, "Come on, let’s go up and check."

"I want to go too!" Eva stood up, bounding over to her, "I want to see my godson."

"Eva, it’s just that..." Sophie gave her a look, "Too many people, I’m afraid it might disturb the child."

In fact, she really wanted to give Asher a chance to spend time with his child. Thinking about it, since the child was born until now, the time they spent together was scarce. Besides, she knew he must have missed the child too.

Eva blinked her eyes, seeming to understand Sophie’s intention.

"Alright then, you guys go up first, I’ll see my adorable godson tomorrow."

"Mm." Sophie gratefully glanced at Eva, then went upstairs arm in arm with Asher.

Seeing them sweetly walking up, a self-mocking smile appeared on Nolan’s lips.

He heavily placed the wine glass in his hand onto the table, with anger in his eyes.

Eva was startled, initially wanting to return to the sofa, but Nolan’s expression was clearly off; it made her immediately retreat a few steps.

Nolan might have realized he scared her, awkwardly pulling the corners of his mouth.

"Sorry," he said apologetically.

"Oh, it’s alright." Eva still returned to her seat, "By the way, Mr. Davis, how did you meet Sophie? And how come she’s living here?"

Eva finally voiced the doubts in her mind.

Sophie living at another man’s house, and Asher actually allowed it?

It’s like the sun rising from the west.

"Well, I’m afraid you’ll have to ask Little Sophie." Nolan shook his head, he couldn’t possibly tell Sophie’s friend that he paid to buy her from Nathan, right.

Seeing that Nolan was unwilling to elaborate, Eva knew it wasn’t appropriate to delve deeper, otherwise it would seem rude.
