No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1893 Hayes Edwards Extra (50)
Helena nodded, crouched beside BigYellow, and patted its head, seriously discussing with it, "Can you let Grace touch your head?"
BigYellow lifted its eyelids to glance at her, snorting through its nose.
Helena immediately looked up, "It said okay."
Grace Winter then walked over, crouched down, extended one of her fingers, and said to BigYellow, "I’m going to touch your head now."
BigYellow was really aloof, not even sparing another glance, as if saying, just hurry up and do it.
Grace carefully tapped its head lightly.
BigYellow was too lazy to move.
With the first contact made, it felt as if they were familiar already.
BigYellow really had a good temper, but when it was brought to the store, Helena’s dad still brought a muzzle for it and tied it with a rope.
After getting to know BigYellow, Grace Winter felt like she had made a new friend and even chatted with BigYellow.
Although BigYellow didn’t really pay much attention to them.
Hayes Edwards sat on one side, watching Grace Winter chat with the dog, he snorted but couldn’t help the corners of his mouth lifting, "Foolish."
"Brother Edwards, what did you say?" Chubby was eating an ice pop.
Hayes Edwards said, "Nothing, just eat yours."
Chubby gave an "mm" and continued eating his ice pop.
When leaving, Hayes Edwards paid for everyone’s bill, placing the money under the calculator, and mentioned it to Helena in passing.
It was almost noon, Helena and Grace Winter waved to them, saying she’d play with them in the afternoon.
Three days before the Lunar New Year, Grace Winter returned to her hometown with Father Winter and Mother Winter.
In the morning, not hearing the familiar knock at the door or the chattering voices, Hayes Edwards suddenly felt a little unaccustomed.
When Grace Winter was around, he disliked her noise. Now that she went back to her hometown, he felt it was too quiet.
Unable to sit still, Hayes Edwards got up and saw the winter homework on the table. He was just about to start but ended up playing games while looking for his pencil case.
After playing a few rounds and feeling bored, not wanting to do homework either, he simply messaged Chubby, asking if he wanted to come out to play ball. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
A while later, Chubby replied, saying he was already at his hometown and was not in the city.
Hayes Edwards asked someone else.
He asked several others in a row; they either went back to their hometowns or went out with their families.
Hayes Edwards lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, and shouted irritably, "Bored!"
As soon as he shouted, Mother Edwards stood at the door and knocked, holding a bag and looking anxious to leave, "Hayes, come out with mom to buy some things."
Hayes didn’t want to get up, but seeing his dad’s expression, he had to change his tune, "Alright, I’ll change my clothes."
As the New Year approached, the city was at its liveliest, with decorations everywhere, red lanterns hung on shop fronts, and loudspeakers announcing "big sales."
While passing a fireworks stall, Mother Edwards asked Hayes, "Want to buy some fireworks?"
Hayes wasn’t interested in fireworks, about to say no when he heard his mom say, "If you buy some now, you can set them off with Grace when she comes back."
"Isn’t Grace Winter back in her hometown?" Hayes asked.
Mother Edwards was picking vegetables, comparing two white radishes in her hands, "She said she’ll come back earlier this year to avoid traffic jams on the highway."
Hayes didn’t know why, but he felt a bit of anticipation in his heart. Once he realized it, he quickly suppressed the feeling, pretending to be cool.
