No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1888 Hayes Edwards Extra (45)
At first, it was waiting for five minutes, then it turned into waiting for ten minutes, and the longest time was waiting for twenty minutes.
Hayes Edwards only came back when the lights of the school building were turned off, accompanied by a few friends chatting and laughing.
"Hey, let’s go." He lightly tapped Grace Winter’s head.
Grace Winter, who was about to fall asleep, was jolted awake and quickly grabbed her backpack to catch up with Hayes Edwards.
The weather was getting colder, and Mother Winter was always worried she would be cold, so she wore quite a lot, carrying a backpack on her back and another in her arms, feeling sleepy and walking unsteadily.
Someone joked she looked like a "clumsy penguin."
When Grace Winter was in third grade, Hayes Edwards was already in fifth grade.
The fifth-grade classroom was in another school building, separated by some distance from the original one, so Hayes Edwards no longer had to worry about Grace Winter bothering him during breaks.
Hayes’s seat was at the last table, near the back door, which was very convenient for going out to play during break time.
"It seems like now we’ll only be able to find Grace during the big break." Joy sighed, sighing while stuffing snacks into his mouth.
Hayes sat at his seat, leaning his arm on his head, feeling incredibly happy inside.
He no longer hoped to shake off that little tagalong Grace; he just wanted her to bother him less, "What’s the next class?"
Joy glanced at the timetable and said it was sports class.
Joy sat at the table in front. He leaned against the wall and said, "By the way, I remember Helena said their next class is also sports class."
Helena was Grace Winter’s deskmate. Last time they met, Joy knew her family ran a small shop and was very envious, instantly making friends.
He said they should play together more in the future.
In fact, not only this sports class, but coincidentally, every sports class for Grace’s class clashed with Hayes’s class.
Joy sighed and said, "This is fate!"
Hayes: "..."
During the first sports class encounter, Grace Winter and Helena were sitting on the stairs eating spicy sticks, sharing a small bag, eating happily one bite at a time.
Their mouths were turning red from the spice.
Hayes walked past them, and Joy was the first to notice them, warmly greeting, "Grace, Helena."
Both turned their heads simultaneously.
Grace Winter saw Hayes Edwards and stood up running over, her mouth still spicy, inhaling, "Hayes, is your class also sports class?" 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Hayes Edwards saw her mouth stained with chili oil and frowned, "Won’t you wipe your mouth after eating?"
Grace Winter said embarrassedly, "I didn’t bring any tissues."
Hayes clicked his tongue disdainfully and then went straight into the small shop nearby.
Grace stood there blankly watching his back until he disappeared, then looked down at her fingers still stained with chili oil.
When Hayes came out of the small shop again, he had a bottle of water and tissues in his hand, which he directly stuffed into Grace’s arms and lightly tapped her head again, "Little rascal."
They were almost the same age.
Grace held the items, somewhat slow, looking at him, and after a few seconds, she flashed a smile, her eyes like crescents, "I’m already eight years old."
She said it in a small voice, like weakly refuting.
This sounded oddly familiar.
Hayes couldn’t be bothered to think about it, "Let’s go. I’m playing ball later, don’t bother me!"
Grace obediently replied, "Got it."
When Hayes was ten years old, he already had a height superior to his peers.
