No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1870: Hayes Edwards Side Story (27)
The chubby kid was eating an ice pop, crunching it several times and feeling the chill in his mouth, "Of course it could happen. Grace might grow taller than Hayes, and then he would have to call you sister."
Sister?
Taller than Hayes?
Grace Winter imagined the scene and found that it seemed...not bad?
In the evening, Grace Winter went home and proactively told Mother Winter that she wanted to drink milk.
Mother Winter was surprised, "This child, she never wanted to drink milk before, now why is she asking for it herself?" 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Father Winter folded the newspaper and put it aside, "Children grow up, some changes are not surprising."
Mother Winter thought for a moment, "True, once the summer vacation is over, Grace will be starting first grade."
This year’s summer vacation is hotter than ever. The sun was so glaring that its outline was blurred, like a big blazing ball continuously burning, scorching the ground.
Because the weather was so hot, Hayes Edwards’ plan to play basketball was shelved, and now he can only stay at home every day.
At most, he can walk around the hallway.
The neighbor, Grace Winter, still knocks on his door every day like clockwork.
"Hayes, should we play with clay today?"
Grace Winter was carrying a small bucket filled with clay in various colors, all still packaged, along with a set of pretend play tools.
Hayes: "..."
Can he refuse?
Hayes’ room was filled with dolls left by Grace Winter, all brought here and forgotten.
Now, these dolls were arranged in a large circle by Grace Winter.
Inside this circle were Hayes and Grace Winter.
Today’s play theme was "running a store."
"It’s a cake shop. Grace is the cake chef, Hayes is the customer."
She held a piece of blue clay, pinching and molding it into an oval shape, then placed it on a box and pointed, "This is the cake."
Hayes: "..."
Without a second thought, he got up to leave, but the next second his hem was tugged, and he looked down into a pair of big round eyes.
"Hayes, you haven’t eaten your cake yet."
Hayes held back his temper, with a stern face, "I’m not eating, let go."
He looked fierce, but Grace Winter wasn’t frightened at all and didn’t let go, "No way, you have to eat it, or it will go bad soon."
The blue clay fell onto the floor with a splat.
"It’s on the floor, can’t eat it, make another." Hayes impatiently said, "Let go already."
"Alright." Grace Winter let go and asked, "Where are you going?"
Hayes didn’t look back, "To the bathroom, you coming?"
Grace Winter responded with an "Oh" and obediently said, "Then hurry back, I’ll make a new cake for you."
Hayes: "..."
He really didn’t want to play this silly game with this little fool, it felt like it was lowering his IQ.
Of course Hayes wouldn’t return, just as the sun was about to set outside, he took his basketball and went straight out the door.
Mother Edwards was watching TV and took a moment to react, "Where are you going, Grace is still here!"
"Going downstairs to play basketball, will be back soon."
Grace Winter heard this and also ran out, but only caught a glimpse of Hayes’ back.
Once the door was closed, she couldn’t see anything anymore.
Mother Edwards frowned, "This kid." Then she saw Grace Winter, and her face immediately softened to a gentle smile, "Grace, don’t mind him. I’ll make a cake for you, dear."
