No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1864: Hayes Edwards Side Story (21)
"So you can see the kindergarten from here."
Looking out from here, there’s only a narrow path and two fences between Dawn Light Middle School and the kindergarten, so close you can almost touch both sides.
And both sides are facing sports fields.
Hayes Edwards: "....."
Grace Winter was also surprised, tugging on Hayes Edwards’ shirt, "Hayes, you can see the place where we play hide and seek here!"
Hayes couldn’t bring himself to smile at all.
The first day of September marked the official start of school.
The required school and dismissal times are different from kindergarten, so from today on, Hayes Edwards doesn’t need to go to and from school with Grace Winter anymore.
As the first day of shaking off the little tagalong, Hayes was naturally happy.
But Grace Winter wasn’t happy; she was sad for a long time and even cried the night before school started.
Under the suggestive look from his own mom, Hayes reluctantly gave Grace a hug, and his chest got soaked.
He really was still very dismissive of Grace Winter.
On the first day of school, Hayes adapted quickly; he and Chubby just happened to be placed in the same class, the two of them turning from kindergarten classmates into elementary school classmates.
Because they got to choose their seats, they ended up being desk mates again.
During self-introductions, Hayes became the most popular student in class thanks to his handsome looks and little prince-like charm.
Chubby proudly introduced to others, "Hayes even has a sister, and she’s even prettier than him!"
That sister was, of course, Grace Winter.
The first question Hayes was asked after coming down from the podium was, "Hayes, you have a sister?"
This question sounded all too familiar.
Chubby didn’t notice anything wrong and continued, having Hayes answer, "His sister’s name is Grace, she goes to the kindergarten next door, and I’ll take you guys to see her after class."
Their break after the second period was a recess, and it happened to be the break time for the kindergarten across the street too.
Hayes Edwards: "....."
Very annoyed, extremely annoyed.
"I don’t have a sister."
Everyone looked over at him again.
Chubby explained for him, "Not a real sister, it’s the kind where you grow up together, living next door..." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
He couldn’t quite think of the idiom.
But someone knew, "Is it childhood sweethearts?"
"Exactly!" Chubby said, "Childhood sweethearts."
Everyone was surprised and felt very envious.
Hayes stuffed the snacks from Chubby’s drawer into his hands, "Didn’t you say you were hungry? Eat something then."
"I’m not hungry," Chubby said.
Hayes said with a cold expression, "No, you are hungry."
Chubby scratched the back of his head, not understanding, but instinctively chose to agree, "Okay, I’m hungry."
On the first day of first grade, because of Chubby, the whole class knew that Hayes Edwards had a sister in the kindergarten next door.
He initially thought that as long as he left the kindergarten, he could shake off Grace Winter, the little tagalong, but now it seems... not just yet.
First grade didn’t have homework, and the courses were also very simple.
As the school days went on, everyone got familiar with each other and soon found their good friends.
Chubby still played with Hayes.
Hayes was very popular at school, especially with the girls, because of his good looks. He was one of the rare pretty boys.
Everyone secretly gave him the nickname "Little Prince."
Until one time a boy teased him in front of Hayes...
