No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1676 Arnold Simmons Extra (42)
"Alright, we get it, the big guy knows. You walked her home and didn’t want to leave; didn’t manage to win her over, huh?"
Didn’t win her over?
Arnold Simmons chuckled quietly to himself.
He hadn’t even started pursuing her yet.
The sky was growing dark, streetlights flickering on, with cars rushing by and pedestrians hurrying along.
Neon lights blinked, casting the silhouette of the young man.
He lowered his head, looking at the contact information he had just obtained in his phone, feeling somewhat annoyed as he turned it off.
Just then, Francis Evans called him, dropping the name of an internet cafe and urging him to hurry over to help out since they were losing the game.
"Got it, I’ll be there immediately."
Arnold Simmons hung up the phone, glanced back at the residential complex, then lowered the brim of his cap and crossed the road.
Perhaps it was just his imagination running wild; she might have no interest in him at all.
...
Hannah returned home.
Her apartment had two bedrooms and a living room, with one bedroom converted into a study. The balcony was adorned with several pots of plants, dominated by bright red Chinese roses.
The petals were layered upon each other, gently swaying in the night breeze, bathed in moonlight as if sprites were dancing slowly upon them. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
After dinner and having watered the Chinese roses, Hannah settled into the study to do her homework.
Weekend assignments were average: about three papers per subject and a handful of exercises earmarked by the teacher as compulsory.
All the homework combined nearly filled her backpack to bursting.
Hannah had brought back two sets of homework.
She was thinking about how to get these assignments to Arnold Simmons.
Even if he was to become a domineering President in the future, he couldn’t neglect his studies now.
At midnight, after finishing another exam paper, Hannah received a friend request.
The note read "Arnold Simmons," and the profile picture was of a goofy black dog sitting on a rock under the night sky, unidentifiable in breed but quite plump.
Hannah paused for a second and then quickly accepted the request.
The process happened so fast, even Arnold himself was caught off guard by the sudden new message. His hand trembled on the mouse and he "took out" a teammate inadvertently.
Francis Evans yelled from the other side, "Ah! Who’s the blind bastard? I’m on your team, dammit!"
"Looks like it was Arnold..." someone muttered in response.
Francis Evans’ shouting stopped abruptly, "Is that so?"
He stood up and reached over to look.
Arnold Simmons was holding his phone, lost in thought.
Even though he accidentally "took out" a teammate, they still won the game.
"I’ll step out for a bit," Arnold Simmons said, removing his headset, "you guys go ahead and play."
With that, he walked straight out of the internet cafe.
"Where’s Arnold going?"
Ethan Evans slurped noodles from the cup beside him, "I don’t know; he’s been acting weird lately, seems like he’s in love or something."
"In love? With that girl from before?" One of the guys, heavily curious, stood out with his freshly dyed blonde hair, "That one who looked like a sweet and studious girl from No. 1 Middle School."
Francis Evans, noodle fork in hand, scratched his chin uncertainly, "It should be her, I haven’t seen any other girls around Arnold either."
"Wait, for real? I thought Arnold would be single for life." The blonde was taken aback and then sank into melancholy, "We agreed to be bachelors for life, bros forever, yet he went behind our backs and started dating."
Francis Evans laughed and slapped him on the back of the head, "With Arnold’s looks, you think he’d stay single for life?"
"But I’m pretty good-looking too, yet I’m still single," the blonde argued.
Francis Evans nearly died laughing, "Take a look in the mirror, will you? With your taste in bright yellow hair, who would go for you?"
The blonde was indignant, "What do you know? This is called fashion."
