Nine Star Hegemon Body Arts-Chapter 6025 Unstable Jiuli
Chapter 6025 Unstable Jiuli
Within a divine palace, hundreds of Sovereign Lords were sitting together. Each held an esteemed position, either by seniority or authority, and their presence represented the backbone of the Jiuli race.
All were seated at the same level, save for four thrones above them. True Sovereign Lords occupied these thrones, and the oppressive pressure they radiated made it clear they were no ordinary experts.
These were the leaders of the four great clans of the Jiuli race: Long Bukong of the Long clan, Ye Ziwei of the Ye clan, Zhao Qiankun of the Zhao clan, and Jiang Yuexu of the Jiang clan.
Aside from Ye Ziwei, who appeared to be a composed woman in her forties, the other three were white-haired elders.
Long Bukong looked icy, his pockmarked face and blade-like gaze giving the impression that he had never once smiled in his life.
Zhao Qiankun had sunken eyes and a prominent hooked nose. He radiated a gloomy aura, and while watching the battle recordings of the Dragonblood Legion, he was the only one sneering in disdain.
In contrast, Jiang Yuexu looked like a gentle and refined elder. With a kind demeanor and a calm voice, he appeared to be the most approachable of the four.
These four weren’t just the clan leaders—they were also the four palace masters of the Jiuli Divine Palace, holding positions akin to the four mountain lords of Sovereign Mountain.
Unlike Sovereign Mountain, however, the Jiuli race had no system of rotating leadership. Major decisions had to be made collectively by the four palace masters.
Normally, matters requiring all four of them were rare. The last time they had convened was due to the incident involving Long Can.
Yet now, they were forced to gather once again. When they saw the recordings in front of them, they were shocked.
“Marvelous. No wonder that girl Yue’e kept begging me to find a way to draw Long Chen back into the Jiuli race. It seems we old fossils have underestimated these youngsters,” said Jiang Yuexu, finally breaking the silence.
Jiang Yuexu didn’t hold back his praise. In fact, he felt a bit regretful now.
He had always favored Yue’e, and when they first met, she practically begged him to find a way to bring Long Chen back into the Jiuli race. At the time, he hadn’t taken her plea seriously.
Yue’e was a prodigy with boundless potential. Within the Jiang clan’s younger generation, she easily ranked among the top ten. But even so, her words seemed far-fetched.
She had claimed that if Long Chen returned, he would stand among the top three of their entire junior generation. That had been hard to believe. How could a disciple who had ascended from the mortal world possess such overwhelming strength?
But to comfort Jiang Yue’e, Jiang Yuexu had agreed to consider it. But in truth, he did nothing.
One major reason was Long Chen’s surname—Long. Even if he returned, it would be the Long clan who reaped the benefits. Why would the Jiang clan go out of their way to help another clan's talent?
Moreover, the responsibility of bringing Long Chen back should have fallen to the Long clan in the first place. It wasn’t the Jiang clan’s place to intervene.
But with tensions running high after the Long Can’s incident, everyone was avoiding any sensitive topics, and Long Chen’s matter was quietly brushed aside.
After that, Zhao Manjiang ended up going to Sovereign Mountain due to Zhao Qiankun’s orders, only to return completely dejected. The Jiuli race’s reputation had taken a major hit.
Long Chen’s message had been a warning to the Jiuli higher-ups, one that stung their pride. Who did he think he was, issuing a warning to the entire Jiuli race? He was just a mere Heaven Saint. Did he believe the Jiuli race lacked geniuses?
They all thought Long Chen was someone who didn’t know how high the heavens were.
And yet, as one photographic jade after another came out, the Jiuli race was shaken. When they saw a true Sovereign Lord fall, the four clan leaders had no choice but to call an emergency meeting.
They needed to decide what stance to take on Long Chen. Back then, no one had bothered with him, simply because they hadn’t grasped his true strength. However, now they understood how terrifying he was.
“You’re praising him too much. He barely did anything. It was his subordinates doing the fighting. I haven’t seen anything extraordinary from him,” Zhao Qiankun said coldly.
Ye Ziwei countered, “Those people are his subordinates. If he can command so many monstrous geniuses, doesn’t that reflect his power?”
It was clear she was fond of Long Chen. But those who knew the full story were aware that Ye Ziwei was a proud woman with an explosive temper.
Back then, during the Long Can’s debacle, she had nearly drawn her sword in front of them all.
Zhao Qiankun had proposed using Long Can to pull strings from the shadows—not to fully cooperate with Lord Brahma, but to keep tabs on his movements. In any case, he wanted the whole Jiuli race to work together with Lord Brahma.
Long Bukong didn’t voice direct support, but he said Zhao Qiankun’s idea was worth considering.
Their attitudes directly made Ye Ziwei go crazy, almost drawing her sword on them. If Jiang Yuexu had not done everything to stop her, their last meeting really would have devolved into a battle.
In truth, whether Ye Ziwei liked Long Chen or not, she was never going to agree with Zhao Qiankun. She’d seize any opportunity to oppose him.
Zhao Qiankun sneered, “The Dragonblood warriors are strong, yes. But killing a true Sovereign Lord? That’s a joke. The moment a quintessence Sovereign body appears, they’d be crushed. This recording has clearly been edited. You can see the violet blood runes entwined around the devil patriarch’s Sovereign body. There was obviously a violet blood expert behind the scenes who injured him—likely one of Sovereign Mountain’s mountain lords. If that’s not the case, I’ll cut off my head and gift it to you. This recording could only deceive those whose eyes have grown blind with age.”
“You...!” Ye Ziwei’s fury erupted. That last insult was particularly offensive toward a woman.
“Ziwei, calm down,” Jiang Yuexu quickly interjected. “We didn’t see how the devil patriarch died, so Palace Master Qiankun’s deduction is plausible. However, you should remember that Long Chen himself is a member of the violet blood race—and a Spirit Awakener at that. How can you be certain that the violet blood power didn’t come from Long Chen?”
Zhao Qiankun sneered, “Long Chen is only a Heaven Saint. His violet blood power can’t possibly contend against a quintessence Sovereign body. Well, he could do it if he had received the blessing of the Violet Gold Bell. But, of course, that’s impossible.”
“Enough of this pointless debate.” A deep, ancient voice echoed throughout the hall. Its source remained unseen, but the moment it rang out, the four clan leaders instantly fell silent.
“I summoned you here to get your opinions. If an expert like Long Chen joins us, it would be a monumental boon for the Jiuli race. Do you have any method to recruit him?”
The entire hall held its breath.
Long Bukong finally spoke, his voice as cold as ever.
“The Jiuli race cannot recruit Long Chen.”
