Nine Star Hegemon Body Arts-Chapter 5778: Rainbow Devil Ying Wudao
Long Chen’s words made Luo Yanfeng and the others jump in shock. They had just started to relax, preparing to rest, but now they immediately gripped their weapons again.
The void quivered as water-like ripples spread through the air, revealing a figure.
It was a handsome, long-haired man with a fair complexion. If not for the two horns on his head, they might have mistaken him for a human.
The devil qi coming from him was extremely faint—so subtle that without careful sensing, it would have gone unnoticed. More curiously, his devil qi didn’t provoke any negative reactions in them.
Instead, this man exuded a gentle and refined air, almost scholarly. He was nothing like the brutal devil experts they had encountered before. And yet, despite his harmless appearance, he had managed to sneak up on them completely undetected. This alone marked him as a terrifying existence.
Everyone couldn’t help but look at Long Chen when they thought about how harmless this fellow looked. This devil was much like him—outwardly innocent, seemingly harmless, like a boy next door. But once he fought, he was an existence that sent souls fleeing in terror.
“Oh? How did you sense me even after I had used my innate aura-concealing technique? Are you sure you’re not bluffing?” The man regarded Long Chen with astonishment.
“You arrived the moment we started fighting them. Tell me, do you think I’m bluffing?” Long Chen said lightly.
The man nodded. “You truly are impressive. While I wouldn’t claim my aura-concealing technique is flawless, from my side, there isn’t a single mid-stage Devil Emperor capable of detecting me.”
“The reason I sensed you is simple—I’ve killed countless devils, and this made me highly sensitive to your presence. Also, I have a friend from your race, so I recognized your aura the moment you arrived,” Long Chen replied.
“A friend?” The man looked even more shocked now. “A human… befriending the devil race?”
Long Chen smiled slightly but didn’t elaborate. After all, wasn’t there a winged devil within the Wine God Palace?
Though this devil had hidden his aura and spiritual fluctuations, Long Chen recognized him as a member of the winged devil race. However, the winged devil race was vast, with countless branches. He couldn’t pinpoint which one this man belonged to.
But there was no mistaking his terrifying power. His aura was as deep as an unfathomable sea—an expert among experts.
“Interesting… I didn’t expect to meet such a curious human before leaving,” the devil said with a smile.
“I also never expected to encounter such a unique devil on the battlefield,” Long Chen replied, smiling as well.
“I am the Rainbow Devil, Ying Wudao.”
Luo Yanfeng and the others gasped in shock.
“The rainbow winged devil race?! The main emperor bloodline of the winged devil race?!”
The violet blood race had detailed records on the rainbow winged devil race. They were a renowned emperor race from the primal chaos era.
Although the Golden Wing Devils were also considered an emperor race, they were merely an offshoot of the main lineage. The rainbow winged devil race was the true sovereign of the winged devils.
In the primal chaos era, they were overlords. Now, hearing that their opponent hailed from the main emperor bloodline of the devil race, Luo Yanfeng and the others panicked.
Long Chen was equally astonished. He had heard of the rainbow winged devil race long ago. Having slain countless devil experts, they were his mortal enemies. Naturally, he had studied them.
“I don’t quite understand. If you are from the rainbow winged branch, why are you with this group of riffraff?” asked Long Chen.
“It’s a long story. This child has no mother.”
Ying Wudao sighed and suddenly took out two gourds, tossing one to Long Chen.
Without further explanation, Ying Wudao uncorked his gourd and took a swig. Instantly, the burning aroma of alcohol spread through the air.
Long Chen followed suit, taking a mouthful.
Seeing this scene, Luo Yanfeng and the others shuddered. That was an enemy—one of the devil race. Who would dare drink what he offered? What if it was poisoned?
Yet, Long Chen didn’t hesitate in the slightest.
Ying Wudao’s expression remained unchanged, but his gaze grew slightly warmer.
But then, his expression changed when Long Chen suddenly spat out his wine.
“Pfft! You call this wine?!” shouted Long Chen.
He curled his lips in disdain and threw the gourd aside. Then, with a wave of his hand, he summoned two wine jugs and tossed one to Ying Wudao.
Ying Wudao caught it and opened the seal. Yet, there was no immediate fragrance. Without hesitation, he took a deep swig.
When the wine entered Ying Wudao’s stomach, a fanatical expression appeared on his face.
“This is good wine!” he exclaimed.
“Of course it is good wine. “Of course it is. This is wine from the Wine God Palace,” Long Chen said with a smirk.
“The Wine God Palace? That legendary place?” Ying Wudao was stunned. Then, he burst into laughter. “Hahaha! I never imagined this! Not only do I meet such an interesting human, but I get to taste such legendary wine. Good thing I didn’t leave too soon, or I would have missed out!”
After that, Ying Wudao drank two more large mouthfuls, savoring it like an addict.
Meanwhile, Luo Yanfeng and the others grew increasingly tense. Luo Yanfeng shot a glance at Luo Ying and the others, who immediately spread out—not to form an enclosure, but to stand as sentries.
They weren’t concerned about devil race reinforcements. Rather, if the violet blood race saw Long Chen laughing and drinking with a devil expert, he would undoubtedly be branded a traitor.
“Originally, I thought we’d end up in a life-and-death battle,” Long Chen mused. “But it seems my prediction was wrong.”
Ying Wudao was unquestionably strong—so strong that even Long Chen had to take him seriously. But experts of his caliber rarely resorted to underhanded schemes.
When Ying Wudao had offered wine, it had been a test. Long Chen had expected them to fight after drinking. Yet, the devil showed no intention of battling him.
“In truth,” Ying Wudao said, “ever since the nine heavens reconnected and our world merged, I’ve been wanting to leave. But as soon as that happened, we clashed with your violet blood race. The old fools want to use the power of violet blood to nurture their next generation of disciples. I stayed a few extra days to see if I could get a share. But unfortunately, they’re too cautious. The real meat is reserved for their sealed monster fetuses, while the soup and scraps are shared between these fools. And me? I get nothing. So why would I stay?”
Ying Wudao shook his head in disdain.
Startled, Long Chen probed, “Are you saying they aren’t from the same race as you?”

“Of course not. They’re just beggars of the devil race.”
Ying Wudao sneered, taking another swig of wine before continuing, “For this wine, I’ll tell you their secret. Then, we’ll owe each other nothing.”
