Nine Revolutions Star Transformation-Chapter 91 - 92: The Price of Breaking the Restriction
Chu Linfeng’s worries were not unfounded. The star power was too strong; if absorbed into the body, the Earth Star Pill couldn’t completely convert it, which could really result in pill destruction and death.
Just as he was wavering in indecision, a strange phenomenon occurred. Of the seven rays of star power shot down by the Big Dipper, six were directly absorbed by the Magic Beast Egg on the ground.
All six rays were directed at the Magic Beast Egg, which Chu Linfeng hadn’t anticipated. "Your appetite is too big, leaving just one ray of star power for me. The vast world indeed holds wonders!"
This single ray of star power was naturally weak, but Chu Linfeng had no other choice but to watch the Magic Beast Egg absorb the other six, his only hope being that it would hatch soon; otherwise, he’d really be at a loss.
Day after day passed. Chu Linfeng remembered that after taking the third Hunger Relief Pill, there was a change in the rays of star power shot down by the Big Dipper, as if the Star Stone on the altar was almost exhausted, and the rays were already dim.
The Magic Beast Egg of the Blood Shadow Frenzied Lion had already stopped absorbing. Chu Linfeng noticed that the shell of the Magic Beast Egg had more pronounced cracks, as if it could hatch at any moment.
"Spending so many Star Stones wasn’t in vain. I’ve broken through to the Third Layer of the Earth Martial Realm, and the Magic Beast Egg is about to hatch—it’s exhilarating!"
"Exhilarate my head! Lin Feng, there’s a restriction on this Magic Beast Egg. If you don’t unlock it, it will never hatch." Sword Spirit Yue’er immediately said.
Another bucket of cold water poured over Chu Linfeng, leaving him dizzy. "Restriction? I don’t know how to break any restriction! Sister Yue’er, you’d better spill it all at once and just tell me the method."
Sword Spirit Yue’er saying this indicated she certainly knew the way to break it, and Chu Linfeng sensed her intention.
Sure enough, Sword Spirit Yue’er smiled and said, "You just know how to take the easy way out, but this time, breaking the restriction can only be done by yourself. The price might be small or large, depending on the grade of the Magic Beast Egg."
Chu Linfeng felt something was amiss. From past experience, he could clearly judge that Sword Spirit Yue’er’s words certainly leaned toward the latter. He just didn’t know how big this price would be—hopefully not his life.
"Just tell me the key points. My time is running out; don’t beat around the bush!" Chu Linfeng said impatiently. What must be faced should ultimately be faced; avoiding it is not the solution.
"You’re a descendant of the Divine Dragon, and naturally, your blood has dragon blood. Perhaps this restriction can be unlocked with your dragon blood. How much you’ll need to shed, I don’t know. If you can lift this restriction, the Blood Shadow Frenzied Lion might transform into another terrifying being."
Sword Spirit Yue’er spoke honestly, and she wasn’t even a bit upset at Chu Linfeng’s tone, having been with him for nearly three years.
"Using blood? My god, that’s incredibly precious! Is there no other way? If the cost turns out to be bleeding to death, it would be an injustice." Chu Linfeng regretted a bit; this price wasn’t ordinary and maybe a thousand eggs couldn’t be compensation.
"There’s no other way. This is the only method. You’d better hurry up. If you can’t lift the restriction this time, you’ll have to wait for the next time, and maybe you won’t have enough Star Stones for it to absorb."
Chu Linfeng looked at the Magic Beast Egg on the ground and noticed the cracks were slowly closing. If they returned to their original state, his Star Stones this time would truly be wasted.
"If I die, so be it! I just want to see how much blood you’ll make me shed!"
He took out his Cyan Frost Sword and cut a notch on his fingertip, blood immediately flowing out. Chu Linfeng hurriedly dripped it onto the Magic Beast Egg.
After dropping a few drops, the wound on his finger naturally healed, and the blood naturally stopped dripping. "Well, it healed so quickly?"
"Don’t be so petty. You’re already at the Second Layer of Star Body, and your healing ability is already very strong. This kind of small wound stops being embarrassing in front of this miss. Show your determination, a strong cut at the wrist might help." Sword Spirit reminded, a bit speechless at Chu Linfeng’s actions.
Chu Linfeng steeled himself and said, "Damn it! Come on! Today, I’ll let you have your fill!"
He rolled up his sleeve on his arm, gritted his teeth, and courageously made a firm cut at the wrist with the Cyan Frost Sword.
This one truly was a bit overwhelming—a stream of blood poured out, staining the ground red. Chu Linfeng hurriedly placed his wrist over the Magic Beast Egg, allowing the blood to flow onto it.
Seeing the blood stains on the ground, Chu Linfeng’s heart ached. This was precious stuff. But, however much it hurt, the phenomena appearing on the Magic Beast Egg widened his mouth in surprise.
The blood from the wrist kept flowing, but no trace of blood was left on the Magic Beast Egg; everything was absorbed by it.
"Damn it! Are you a barrel? I’ve shed so much blood without any reaction?" Chu Linfeng was a bit angry. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Gradually, the wrist began to heal, and less and less blood came out, but the Magic Beast Egg still showed no reaction except for the unchanged cracks.
"Let’s try again!" Chu Linfeng frowned and cut his wrist again, being irritated beyond reason after two cuts. If he could truly vomit blood, he wouldn’t mind, at least relieving from the pain, and he could directly vomit on the Magic Beast Egg.
The rays of star power shot by the Big Dipper were becoming increasingly weak; if Star Stones weren’t added to the altar grooves, there would truly be a life-threatening risk.
Chu Linfeng began to panic, "Death be damned, I’m going all out today!"
The freshly cut wrist was still bleeding, and he immediately cut the other wrist open, letting blood from both wrists flow onto the Magic Beast Egg, giving it a double flow.
Time slowly passed, with Chu Linfeng’s blood flowing more and more, at this moment his complexion was extremely pale, without a hint of blood color.
"Magic Beast Egg, oh Magic Beast Egg, you’ve worn me out today. Hurry up and hatch!" Chu Linfeng felt a bit desperate; he noticed dizziness in his head, a clear sign of excessive blood loss.
Perhaps his words moved the heavens, for the previously inert Magic Beast Egg suddenly stirred.
A brilliant white light shot out from the Magic Beast Egg, followed by an image of a hexagram appearing in the air, with a giant lion’s head shadow swaying continuously within the image.
Then, a very old yet extremely majestic voice appeared, "Thank you, young man. You’ve given my child a chance to live. It’s about to be born, and as gratitude to you, I’ve had it sign a Soul Contract with you. From now on, it will forever belong to you and never betray."
