Nine Revolutions Star Transformation-Chapter 105 - 106: Injury Recovery
(Thanks to the ever generous Master Shi for yet another reward!)
The Blood Shadow Frenzied Lion Xiaoying, though only the size of a small dog, devoured at an astonishing speed. The giant snake’s corpse, easily weighing hundreds of pounds, was devoured in less than ten minutes.
Lin Feng couldn’t comprehend how such a small belly could contain so large a corpse, leaving him deeply amazed.
After finishing the giant snake, Xiaoying pranced over, seemingly still unsatisfied. Lin Feng noticed it had a Demon Crystal the size of a pigeon egg in its mouth, with a bluish-gray hue, at least twice the size of other Demon Crystals.
"Master, this little snake’s meat was tasty, but it’s low-level, only enough to sustain my energy consumption for ten days. The energy in this Demon Crystal is quite good, Master, could you give it to me?"
"If you find it useful, take it. You seem like you haven’t eaten your fill. How many such Magical Beasts can you eat at once?" Lin Feng asked. This little creature called the strong Magical Beast low-level. What kind of Magical Beast would it consider high-level?
Upon Lin Feng’s consent, Xiaoying immediately swallowed the Giant Snake Demon Crystal, and a faint light appeared over its body. Lin Feng noticeably saw that it had grown slightly larger than before.
"Master, I want to sleep for a bit. Don’t call me unless it’s important!" Xiaoying said and then disappeared, but Lin Feng knew it had returned to his arm.
"I really wonder what this little guy can become. Such a massive Magical Beast couldn’t help it break through; when will it be able to help me?" he muttered to himself.
"Lin Feng, this Blood Shadow Frenzied Lion is a Spirit Beast from ancient times, and it possesses the bloodline of a Holy Beast. Naturally, breaking through is slow, but when it grows to a certain point, its combat power will be terrifying. Be content with that!" Sword Spirit Yue’er remarked.
"I hope it’s as you say. I need to restore some Chaos Qi, or I’ll be in trouble if I encounter more Magical Beasts or enemies." Lin Feng said, taking out a Star Stone from his Storage Ring to begin absorbing it.
Not long after, Yang Rui woke up, seeing bloodstains everywhere and Lin Feng covered in blood, she was overwhelmed. "Could it be he already killed the giant snake? How did he manage it?"
Seeing Lin Feng focusing on restoring his energy, Yang Rui didn’t disturb him. Her injuries were severe enough; it was crucial to focus on her own recovery.
A single Star Stone could only slightly replenish the Chaos Qi in Lin Feng’s Earth Star Pill. By the time he absorbed the third Star Stone, it was already daylight. Yet, his Chaos Qi had nearly recovered by half, and his bodily injuries were already healed.
Opening his eyes, Lin Feng noticed Yang Rui was looking at him with a silly smile, somewhat peculiar.
"Are you alright?" A simple greeting that conveyed more than a thousand words.
"Much better. Have you been here all this time?" Lin Feng’s question felt a bit redundant to even himself after saying it.
"I was afraid someone might come, so I stayed to protect you. Isn’t that touching?" Yang Rui said with a smile.
"Thank you! It really is touching that you neither took advantage nor abandoned me!"
"I’d never leave you!" Yang Rui quickly added, realizing how ambiguous her statement sounded. She felt her face heat up and hastily added, "You’re just so capable, defeating such a formidable Magical Beast gives me a sense of security staying with you."
At this point, Lin Feng stood up and said, "Why are such powerful Magical Beasts present in an ordinary setting? If other students encountered them, the consequences would be unimaginable."
After a glance at Lin Feng, a thought occurred to Yang Rui, "You must have some formidable Martial Skill, right? Once you use it, it takes time before recovery. Am I right?"
Lin Feng nodded. The secret of the Lion Spirit Fist was best kept hidden. She was mostly correct; an unremarkable strike indeed consumed a lot. Checking the time, he said, "We should leave here as soon as possible. The scent of blood here is strong, likely to attract other Magical Beasts and people. With injuries, we need to find a concealed place to recover. There’s still plenty of time."
Lin Feng and Yang Rui walked slowly along the mountainside, finding a valley by noon. They cautiously made their way inside.
The valley air was refreshing, with beautiful and tranquil surroundings. Except for a few butterflies dancing among the flowers, there were no other signs of life.
At the valley’s end, a thick cloud of blue poisonous smoke covered the sky, casting a dark blue layer over everything, floating slowly but not entering the valley, as if something was shielding it.
Yang Rui pointed out the poisonous smoke to Lin Feng, also offering some Antitoxic Medicine for emergencies.
After half a day wandering in the valley, the two eventually encountered a kind of Magical Beast, the Split-tooth Rat. This creature might not count as a Magical Beast, as it lacked both a Demon Crystal and Crystal Chip, considered a non-task-related beast.
However, its meat was quite tasty when roasted. Lin Feng and Yang Rui killed dozens, roasted them, and stored them in their Storage Rings. Recovery time left no room for cooking, so preplanning avoided hunger. Of course, Lin Feng focused on restoring Chaos Qi rather than injuries.
Their luck held as they discovered a natural cave in the valley, the entrance small, but spacious inside, accommodating dozens easily.
"Let’s recover here. Maybe I’ll need more time; if you wake, feel free to explore, but don’t leave the valley. It’s dangerous outside, and I worry about your safety." Lin Feng told Yang Rui seriously.
"Okay! How long will it take you to recover? I have some Star Stones; let me give you a few!"
"It’s hard to say, maybe a few days, maybe dozens. Do you still have Star Stones? Better keep them for yourself."
"I have ten Low Grade Spirit Stones, three Mid-grade Spirit Stones. How many do you want?" Yang Rui asked.
Checking his Storage Ring with Divine Sense, Lin Feng found his Star Stones depleted. Yang Rui’s supply was limited but helpful nonetheless. "How many do you suggest?"
"I’ll give you seven Low Grade Spirit Stones and one Mid-grade Spirit Stone. They’re hard to come by; I need some for myself too." Yang Rui stated her limit.
Seven Low Grade Spirit Stones and one Mid-grade Spirit Stone exceeded Lin Feng’s expectations. He anticipated five Stones at most, but she offered more.
"Thank you so much, Yang Rui! I didn’t expect your generosity!"
"Haha, I’m always generous, but it depends on the person!"
The following days were spent in the cave recovering. Yang Rui took three days to heal.
Lin Feng took a week to fully restore his Chaos Qi. This time he felt a palpable increase, with his Earth Star Pill growing larger.
Yang Rui stayed close, as Lin Feng advised, sometimes hunting Split-tooth Rats. She observed Lin Feng eat only once during his practice, finding it confusing.
Lin Feng stretched upon emerging from the cave, noticing Yang Rui roasting meat, "Thanks for your effort. Are there any more Magical Beasts?"
Offering Lin Feng a Split-tooth Rat after roasting two, Yang Rui replied, "I’ve only been nearby and haven’t seen any Magical Beasts. Go ahead and eat; let’s gather some Demon Crystals afterwards."
After eating, they headed toward the poisonous smoke. Yang Rui wanted to ask why Lin Feng didn’t eat while practicing, but hesitated and kept silent.
Reaching the smoke-shrouded area, it appeared a different world from the valley. They were unaffected due to the Antitoxic Pills taken earlier.
Barren and plant-poor landscapes greeted Lin Feng, with no animals in sight. Poisonous smoke kept vegetation scarce, only poisonous flowers and grass in limited numbers.
After an hour of walking, a rustling sound reached Zhao Fei’s ears, dense and in unison.
