Chapter 391: Space Beasts and Star Devourers

"A turbulence?" Grey asked in surprise.

"Do you know where parts of you fell?" Grey inquired curiously. Since her consciousness broke apart while she tried to enter this galaxy, didn’t that mean her other parts should be close by?

"I do not know where all of them fell," she replied. "But I can sense some of the fragments now that I am standing here. If I am not wrong, this galaxy should still be working under the automated Protocol Eterna. This galaxy was once part of the Pan-Cosmic Human Alliance, after all."

"If I am not wrong, some of the fragments should be close by."

"If you can sense them, then we can go around finding them," Grey said with a nod.

"Getting you back to the top is crucial, but for starters, we will understand the situation of this galaxy first."

"From your words, it is clear that this is the White Spiral Galaxy that Senior Xia Qingyue once mentioned."

"With the Chaos Seals almost unsealed, it is possible that the galaxy is visible to the starry sky once again."

"For starters, we will deal with the Blue Star and then head to the Crimson Core Planet for more information."

"We need to understand our position in this world, who knows about Blue Star, and who are the rulers of this galaxy."

Eterna nodded.

Grey had grown massively in these few months, from an ignorant evolver to a being strong enough to handle things and also look at the deeper picture of events.

"We will set off after three days. I still need to get some things done."

"Such as eliminating the Abyss from my planet once and for all."

Both Grey and Eterna looked down on the Blue Star, their vision peering through its sub-dimension as it landed on a massive whale.

The Blue Star was a powerful planet; it had a second layer. Of course, it was possible the Crimson Core Planet had its own second layer as well, but the Blue Star itself was very unique. A normal bloodline planet couldn’t compare to it.

Speaking of which, since Grey was in outer space, shouldn’t he look around the second layer of the starry sky?

The layers of outer space and a planet were usually different and separate. But that was under the assumption that the planet had a core. If it didn’t have a core, then it couldn’t differentiate itself from the spatial layer of the starry sky.

With that thought, Grey’s vision flickered as spatial nodes came into view. He directly joined two spatial nodes together and immediately broke them apart.

A portal to higher layers was created like this. While it looked easy, joining two nodes together was easier said than done, and it only got progressively harder to join spatial nodes with each addition.

But Grey should in theory be able to eventually combine three spatial nodes and see into the third layer of space as well.

"Let’s look around the second layer of the starry sky first," Grey mentioned with a smile.

With Eterna in tow, they both entered the portal.

The pressure immediately increased, and the view also shifted with it.

The Blue Star was no longer there.

Instead, it was replaced with rocks and asteroids floating away into the void.

Just then, something tore through outer space and shot towards Grey with immense speed.

Seeing this, Grey’s eyes immediately became round.

Boom!

With a wave of his hand, the creature was destroyed to bits. Just as quickly, he turned to Eterna for answers.

"It is a Space Beast," Eterna replied. "A One-Star Space Beast at that."

"It was clearly at the 5th Rank," Grey said with a dumbfounded look.

Fuck. If it was anyone else, wouldn’t they have been crushed to death instantly?

Grey didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

"It is normal," Eterna said with a blank look.

"These beasts are unsentient."

"There are other classifications for these beasts. The one we just encountered is a Common-Class."

"Then there is a Sentient Class. It is commonly known by the name ’Star Devouring Beasts’. They are beings that can devour planets and infuse their essence to grow stronger."

"Isn’t that basically a Lesser Heaven?"

"Yes. From what I know, the Lesser Heaven’s template was taken from Star Devouring Beasts, and the Abyssal God then utilized the power of Chaos and World Breaking Source Power to create it."

"Star Devouring Beasts take years or even centuries to assimilate the essence they receive from one planet, and they cannot go around lesser planes of existence to devour them. Lesser Heavens, on the other hand, are the direct opposite."

"Interesting," Grey said with a look of surprise.

The starry sky was truly vast, wasn’t it?

This was just the tip of the iceberg, Grey was sure of that.

"By the way, Eterna, are there any planets in the second layer?"

"Yes. Naturally," Eterna said. "This is a higher space-time continuum, a higher layer, but it doesn’t eliminate the process of planetary creation."

"There are many second-layer civilizations in the Pan-Cosmic Human Alliance."

"They were also rather stronger than average during the early creation of the Pan-Cosmic Alliance since they came from a higher layer of space, but of course, that gap was easily filled with each passing year."

"Now, civilizations from higher and lower layers live in harmony within the main cluster of the Pan-Cosmic Alliance, even converging all the layers of space together so Evolvers can go about different layers effortlessly."

"We are but in a corner of the Pan-Cosmic Alliance."

"Humans as a race are within the top 20 in the Myriad Race Ranking, with one expert even reaching the top 10 in the Heaven Ranking of the starry sky."

"Rankings?" Grey was surprised.

"Yes," Eterna nodded. "These rankings are something the Origin Will of the starry sky itself created."

"It loved ranking everything, and hence everyone has a ranking in the starry sky."

"Ranking for the best Alchemist, ranking for being the wealthiest, and a ranking for being the strongest."

"But I still cannot sense the Origin Will or the rankings. It looks like we might have to fully remove the Chaos Seal to sense it again."
