Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven-Chapter 354: Another World
Azure Origin Planet.
Boom!
The sky collapsed from a specific section, and immediately a star-shaped portal appeared in the air.
Out of it, Grey jumped out.
"Huh, where is the ground?" Grey was dumbfounded.
"You can always trust a star portal to never leave you on a grounded surface."
"The last time I went to another plane of existence, I directly crashed into a mountain, only for me to end up starting to devour everything left and right."
"Hm." Grey affirmed the Fragment’s words and then stepped on the air.
It was a perk of being a Lesser Heaven; he didn’t need to worry about suddenly dropping onto the ground.
Then, Grey closely looked at the world below.
"This world..." Grey immediately became dumbfounded when he saw the scale of it.
"Isn’t this a bit too big, Fragment?" Grey asked.
The world below was vast. Endless land and oceans stretched to all four corners of Grey’s vision.
It was almost like there was no end to it.
"The Fragment of the Dao makes it so that you only enter planes of existence that can accommodate you."
"This world is the only world that can accommodate you right now."
"If I’m not wrong, this world is ten times bigger than Blue Star."
"How interesting." Grey stood in the air with his robes fluttering.
"Alright, let’s go down."
Seeing this, Grey began to free fall, with the Fragment taking the shape of a fireball revolving around him.
Soon, they had fallen long enough to see several ancient cities in the distance.
These ancient cities were extremely big; each one might be half the size of the Southern Region in its entirety.
Amidst several cities, Grey saw that from one of them, thick smoke was rising.
"Watch out, Grey. I sense multiple powerful presences down below, likely 2nd or 3rd rank in strength."
"And... I sense a similar presence in here."
"I can sense it just fine." Grey smiled as he stopped free-falling and shot toward the city with the smoke billowing out.
"It’s the demons! Everyone run! The demons have attacked!"
"We must leave for Taihong City immediately!"
"Silver Pellet City is compromised!" 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"The Magistrate is colluding with the demons!"
The city was in complete chaos as ordinary people ran around in panic.
Armies of heavily armored warriors surged toward the Magistrate Mansion’s gate.
It was now surrounded by demons.
The demons had yellow eyes and grey skin, with sharp horns growing from their heads.
"The lowly martial artists are here, folks."
A Burly Demon spoke with a sneer as he saw the army of martial arts warriors surging toward them.
Behind him was a row of demons, all looking at the martial artists in mockery.
"Everyone, eliminate them!" The Burly Demon spoke as he charged forward.
Seeing this, the army of martial artists had hardened expressions.
"Martial brothers, the time for hesitation is over! Charge! To delay is to invite slaughter!"
Qi surged like a tidal wave.
Inside each warrior, the Heart Cube awakened, revolving with the force of a chaotic storm.
The atmosphere trembled.
The warriors surged forward, their momentum creating a gale that flattened the grass.
"Sword light of heaven."
They crossed the battlefield not as men, but as streaks of lethal light.
The demons attempted to raise their defenses, but the sword lights were faster than thought.
Flash. Silence. Thud.
A dozen demons stood frozen for a heartbeat before their necks rushed with blood, their heads sliding cleanly off their shoulders.
"Insolent ants!" the Burly Demon bellowed, his voice shaking the earth.
He unleashed a torrent of Hellfire, a pitch-black wave that consumed everything in its path.
The stench of burnt ozone and flesh filled the air instantly.
Where proud warriors once stood, only silence remained.
"Pathetic," the Demon spat, shifting his murderous gaze to Captain Han. "Die."
He launched himself forward, a cannonball of malice.
"Captain! Watch out!"
Han’s eyes widened, the reflection of the demon growing larger, filling his vision.
There was no escape.
Suddenly, a voice descended from the heavens, indifferent and casual.
"Absolute Authority of Heaven."
The world flashed grey as clouds began to rapidly form in the skies above.
The clouds swirled into a vortex. The pressure that descended was so immense that the very air seemed to solidify.
The Burly Demon halted, trembling, his dominance instantly shattered by a power far beyond his comprehension.
BOOM!
Divine lightning crashed down, painting the world in blinding white.
When the visual prowess of the survivors returned, the demons were gone.
Not a bone was left behind—only dust, scattering in the wind.
"W-What?"
The martial warriors all looked at the scene in disbelief as a voice rang out.
"How annoying. Do these people not have any families to go back to?"
"How come I keep encountering abyssal beings everywhere I go?"
Grey looked down on the place where the battle took place with a look of indifference.
Everyone immediately turned to Grey hearing his voice, and immediately they were stunned by his appearance.
A white robe. Two halos, one purple and one black.
And those alien-like eyes that held several rings between the sclera and the iris, with a Q-shaped point at the center of it all.
The instant they saw him, a chill ran down their spines.
"H-How am I to address you, Senior?"
Captain Han, who was just about to go three feet under, summoned up his courage and stepped forward.
"Hm?" Grey glanced at Captain Han.
"You may address me as Grey."
As he said that, he and the Fragment descended to the ground.
"To fly... You must be a legendary being at the Boundary Transformation Realm."
"Thank you for saving us just in time, Senior Grey."
Hearing his name, Han and the remaining martial warriors bowed to Grey.
"You’re welcome," Grey replied with a grin.
These abyssal beings identified as demons weren’t much.
The Burly Demon was a pseudo-3rd Rank, and the others were at the 2nd Rank.
All Grey had to do was devour a bit of energy in the atmosphere using the Devourer of Chaos to fuel the Heavenly Tribulation.
The instant it realized the abyssal being’s presence, it crashed down and erupted with terrifying power.
Heavenly Tribulation at the Major Comprehension was no joke.
He wasn’t even a 1st Ranker yet, and still, they lost to him.
"Give me a quick detail on what’s happening here," Grey then asked.
"Yes." Captain Han quickly began explaining.
"Portals to other worlds, demons, the City Magistrate sold off to the demons and died in the process, huh?"
Grey was thoughtful.
"Alright, starting now, I’m the City Magistrate of this city."
"What?" The martial warriors were bewildered when they heard this.
"Yeah, any problems with that? Are there any formalities to becoming one?"
"There are, Senior," Captain Han said with twitching lips.
"You need the Yellow Dragon Kingdom’s degree to become a City Magistrate."
"The Yellow Dragon Kingdom’s degree?" Grey clicked his tongue.
There is always a higher power ruling a world, isn’t there?
How annoying.
"Alright, give me a few days. I will just conquer the Yellow Dragon Kingdom."
"What?!" The martial warriors were even more bewildered than before.
"For now, you guys... I’m interested in your martial arts."
Grey smiled and spoke.
"Would you mind showing me something related to it?"
The martial warriors gulped unconsciously seeing Grey’s smile.
