Chapter 345: Lesser Heaven has descended

As soon as General Ben and Lena returned, the Federation experts and specialists from the other regions were already present. They were attacking the barrier sealing the Western Region from every angle, unleashing one technique after another. Yet no matter how much effort they poured into it, the barrier did not even tremble.

By now, Leon had already completed his preparations. Several runes flickered behind him, their light unstable and ominous, as Seer Bai Yue stared at them in horror.

She wondered, Is no one going to come to our rescue?

Is this the end of the world?

If Leon succeeded, the Lesser Heaven would descend and annihilate the entire world. Worse still, it would awaken the dormant Lesser Heaven in the Southern Region as well.

How could they allow that to happen?

All hope seemed lost.

This should never have happened.

Someone had tampered with the flow of fate. Someone who should not exist had appeared, carrying schemes that directly tore a hole through the Heavenly Dao itself.

As a result, everything escalated beyond control.

The fated one was still not here. Even if he were, he was nowhere near strong enough to face the battle before them. There was only one thing awaiting them now.

Destruction.

All of this happened because fate had changed.

Whoever you are... why? Bai Yue asked silently in her heart. Just why did you do this?

At that moment, Leon finished his preparations.

"It’s done," Leon said calmly. "The art is complete. It’s time to summon the gate."

He threw his head back and began laughing.

"Not good, it looks like he’s finished!" one of the soldiers outside the Western Region barrier exclaimed.

"We can see that!" Wang Bao roared in rage as he slammed his fist into the barrier with all his might.

Space tore apart from the sheer intensity of his power.

But it was useless.

Leon had sacrificed many Fourth Rank beings in the Western Region, along with his own High Order members, to ensure the barrier would hold even against the onslaught of numerous Fourth Rank experts.

"With this, the preparation is complete," Leon said softly.

Lines emerged across his face. He bit his finger, and a drop of blood flew toward the runes and formation behind him.

No! Bai Yue screamed internally when she saw this.

Yet she could not speak. She could not even transmit her thoughts.

Leon gazed down upon the Western Region. His eyes were filled with indifference and arrogance.

The arrogance of a superior existence looking down upon humanity.

Seeing his actions, the Federation experts shouted in fury.

"You better stop, Leon! Or I swear I will make sure you suffer a fate worse than death!" the Yin Matriarch Luna shouted, her face twisted with rage.

"We have to do something... or else the entire region will fall," Wang Bao said hoarsely. Despite being a mutated beast rather than a human, pain and anger tore through him.

He was kind by nature, and his heart could not endure this.

If Wang Bao felt such grief, then Bai Yue’s despair was immeasurable.

"If only fate hadn’t changed... this would never have happened."

"The humans below," Leon’s voice echoed.

"I’m sure all of you can hear me."

"Right now, you stand before the Grand Priest of the High Order, Leon."

"My reason for being here today is simple."

"It is to eliminate all of you."

The humans below shuddered uncontrollably.

Leon’s voice pierced through every citizen and Evolver in the Western Region.

There were countless Third Rankers and Second Rankers present, yet before a powerful Fourth Rank existence, there was nothing they could do.

Despair.

Despair enveloped the entire Western Region.

It was so overwhelming that Abyssal Energy and corruption fields across the region surged violently.

"Despair." Leon’s grin widened.

"Despair makes people do things they never imagined."

"Despair gives birth to new opportunities."

"That is why I love despair."

"Because someone else’s despair is my opportunity."

Leon laughed maniacally, his body bulging slightly as blood seeped from his pores.

He had paid a heavy price to complete the formation that would erase the humans below.

But it was worth it.

In the end, he would win.

The descent of the Lesser Heaven was upon them.

Leon hesitated no further.

The formation behind him lit up, its light overwhelming the sky for a brief instant.

Stop! Bai Yue screamed in her mind.

Bound and silenced, she could only drown in despair.

Then, it happened.

Boom!

"Life Severance," Leon’s cold voice rang out across the world.

The world slowed for everyone.

Wang Bao’s roar, Luca’s enraged expression, all of it froze in time. For a split second, everyone in the Western Region saw and heard it.

The mother clutching her infant son to her chest.

The father grinding through exhaustion for the sake of his children.

The students who once dreamed of becoming great Evolvers.

The elderly couple sitting in a dim apartment, counting the years they had left.

The street vendor who had just opened his stall, hoping to survive another day.

The injured soldier leaning against a broken wall, refusing to fall.

The orphan staring at the sky, believing power could change fate.

The young girl hiding behind her brother, whispering that everything would be okay.

The next moment, a red fell across the entire Western Region.

Not light. Not color.

A suffocating veil, as though the sky itself had begun to bleed, drowning the land beneath it. Conversations died mid-breath. Even the wind froze, as if the world itself understood that making noise was a mistake.

Then, the silence broke.

Life essence erupted from the ground in violent streams, ripped from streets, mountains, and living bodies alike. It screamed upward into the sky as the ancient barrier shattered, fragments of space splintering like brittle glass.

The land convulsed.

Cities trembled.

Reality itself began to fail.

Whrmm!

The sound was not heard but felt, a pressure that crushed lungs and rattled bones.

Vaurrrrr!

A broken, distorted voice crawled out from the spatial crack, layered with something that did not belong to this world. For a split second, the entire Western Region turned black, as if existence itself had blinked.

And when vision returned, the world was no longer the same.

"That sound..." Leon’s heart trembled.

His pupils shrank.

It was a Lesser Heaven.

It was here.
