Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven-Chapter 341: Authority of the Abyss
"You mongrels dare harm the High Order elites?"
Leon’s enraged voice roared through the fractured Second Layer as the colossal axe crashed down once more.
It wasn’t grief.
Not even close.
It was pure indignation.
These humans had dared to lay their hands on his people.
The High Order.The Abyss.
They were existence Leon held close to his heart. Faithful, obedient, irreplaceable. Any being that dared to belittle or destroy them deserved immediate eradication, without exception.
"No, you don’t!"
Luca’s sneer cut sharply through the chaotic space.
Space rippled violently as his figure blurred. In a single step, he crossed the distorted distance and appeared beside the descending axe, positioning himself directly between it and the endangered experts.
Then he lifted his right foot.
Boom!
Foot and axe collided head-on.
The contrast was absurd.
A lone human figure against a weapon massive enough to erase regions.
Yet the impact detonated outward like a collapsing world.
Shockwaves tore through the battlefield, spatial ripples racing across the Second Layer as fractures bloomed and vanished in rapid succession. Even the surrounding secret realms screamed under the pressure.
The axe shuddered.
Then, without resistance, it shattered.
Abyssal fragments disintegrated into nothingness, erased before they could even fall.
"Tch."
Leon clicked his tongue, irritation flashing across his face.
But he did not hesitate.
Raising the grimoire high, its pages flipped violently as black runes ignited one after another. Abyssal light surged outward as Leon’s voice echoed with dark authority. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"Mighty souls who have fallen..."
"With the authority of the Abyss—"
"I summon you back."
The instant the incantation ended, abyssal energy descended like a black tide.
The fallen moved.
Crushed bodies twitched. Torn flesh regenerated with sickening sounds. Empty eyes reignited with abyssal light as the eliminated High Order members rose once more, their auras surging as if death had never claimed them.
"...What?"
Bai Yue’s expression changed drastically.
"He’s using the Authority of the Abyss," she said grimly.
That authority belonged to the Abyssal God itself.
Invoking it required an unimaginable price.
Yet the treasure in Leon’s hand bypassed part of that cost, resurrecting those who had pledged their faith to the Abyss. It had limits. He couldn’t abuse it endlessly.
But even once was enough to turn the battlefield into a nightmare.
Leon laughed loudly as abyssal energy churned around him.
"Well?" he mocked. "How does it feel, filthy monkeys? You worked so hard to eliminate them, only for them to come back."
"Watch your tone," Luca snarled. "You dog who licks abyssal floors for a living."
His spear flickered with golden radiance as he spoke.
Then he thrust it forward.
The weapon tore through the Second Layer itself, its trajectory bending space as it descended straight toward Leon’s face.
The distance collapsed.
The spear was already there.
Leon’s expression turned cold.
"Do you think I’m slow?"
With a casual motion, he deflected it.
The spear vanished in a flash of light, reappearing far away as it pierced straight into a distant, shimmering secret realm.
The moment it made contact—
The realm collapsed.
Light shattered. Space imploded.
An entire secret realm filled with lion-type mutated beasts was erased instantly, reduced to nothingness. The auras of several Third Rank existences vanished without even a scream.
Luca’s eyes narrowed.
He recognized it.
That secret realm housed multiple intelligent Third Rank powerhouses.
"Luca," Bai Yue’s stern voice rang out from behind him. "What are you doing? Stop harming innocent lives."
"Tch."
Luca clicked his tongue in annoyance as he summoned his spear back.
"It was an accident."
The beast clan within that realm possessed intelligence. Even Second Rank beings among them had sentience.
But did Luca care?
Not even a little.
He had always despised beasts.
Wang Bao was one.
A white tiger that had taken human form.
Powerful, yes.
But still a beast.
To Luca, they were beings beneath him. Tools at best. Trash at worst.
And as far as he was concerned, their deaths meant nothing.
Wang Bao’s aura surged violently when he witnessed the scene, killing intent leaking uncontrollably from his body.
Before he could step forward, a hand quietly clasped his.
Sera shook her head.
Her grip was firm, her expression calm, but there was unmistakable resolve in her eyes.
Wang Bao clenched his jaw. After a long moment, he clicked his tongue in anger and forced himself to remain where he stood.
At that moment, light flickered in the distance.
Two powerful auras erupted from a faraway secret realm and shot toward the battlefield.
Both carried the unmistakable pressure of the Fourth Rank.
The figures soon became clear.
Jackie Everhart, the current patriarch of the Everhart Family.
And behind him, Viktor Everhart, the Everhart ancestor.
Compared to the six peak experts present, the two were weaker. That was precisely why they had been tasked with dealing with the High Order Fourth Rank elites and suppressing the intruders that had entered the territory of the Sun and Moon Academy.
The Sun and Moon Academy existed within the Second Layer, just like the other great academies. Its scale was vast, spanning several normal cities. With the portals established by the experts, it had become a major trading hub for the Golden Chamber and numerous factions.
Leon’s gaze immediately locked onto them.
"Well, well, well," Leon said slowly, his smile turning into a smirk as he stared at Jackie Everhart. "Look who finally decided to show up."
"You came at the perfect time."
Jackie’s expression changed.
"Grand Priest Leon," he said cautiously, moving closer to the gathered experts. "What do you want with me?"
"What do I want?" Leon chuckled softly.
"What I want is simple."
"Brandon."
Jackie’s pupils constricted.
"I know that little dog who sealed the Starcrest Continent is still reincarnating," Leon continued. "Unfortunately, one of my High Order members encountered him in the Eastern Region and eliminated him early."
Leon sighed, shaking his head.
"Who knows how long it will take for him to reincarnate again."
His smile turned cold.
"But I cannot wait that long."
He raised his hand slightly, abyssal energy stirring behind him.
"The other side is where the Abyss truly lies. How can I unleash it upon this continent without breaking the Ice Wall."
"There is a portal beyond that wall. Once I fully conquer this planet and reach it, I will finally have the chance to advance."
"To become an Abyssal Lord."
Leon laughed quietly, the sound echoing through the fractured space.
"It is all perfectly aligned."
"It’s useless," Jackie Everhart replied calmly, a cold smile appearing on his face. "The only way to break the Ice Wall is with my ancestor. You will not succeed, Leon."
Leon tilted his head slightly, a cold smirk forming on his face.
"Are you certain?"
The instant those words were spoken, a deep sense of unease rose in Jackie’s heart.
Before he could respond, Luca stepped forward.
"Enough of this," Luca said coldly. "Leon, your life ends here."
He lifted his spear.
"Everyone, we attack together."
The revived High Order Fourth Rank members stood nearby, their expressions blank, their eyes fixed on the experts. They were clearly waiting for Leon’s command.
No one knew the true extent of his authority. As long as he remained alive, the resurrected forces could continue to return.
"There is no time to delay," the Grand Polarity Master said, his gaze steady as it settled on Leon.
In the next moment, formation sigils shot forward.
They pierced through the chaotic currents of the Second Layer, racing toward predetermined positions. One after another, they locked into place at the four corners of the surrounding space.
A barrier formed.
"Energy-Severing Anti-Energy Space Field."
"Ninefold Weakening Suppression Field."
"Essence-Corroding Strength Degradation Field."
"Heart-Demon Mind Illusion Formation."
"Annihilation Verdict Killing Formation."
The Grand Polarity Master invoked the arrays in succession.
Layered power descended, sealing space, severing energy flow, suppressing strength, corroding essence, and invading the mind.
"Now," Bai Yue said sharply.
Seeing the scene, the revived High Order members surged forward, but none of the Fourth Rank experts reacted to them.
Their focus remained fixed on Leon.
This was the opening they had created.
Power began to circulate simultaneously among the experts, pressure building as the formations locked fully into place around their target.
The outcome of this battle would be decided here.
If it wasn’t decided, then the high order members will keep being revived, that wasn’t what they wanted.
