Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven-Chapter 339: The Seer
Clank!
Clank!
As Aron and Lena advanced toward the Second Layer of Space, a far more terrifying battle was unfolding, one that dwarfed the chaos in the Western Region.
This was a battlefield reserved for Fourth Rank existences. If such a clash occurred in the First Layer, the entire Starcrest Continent would have collapsed under its pressure.
"You mongrels! You will never defeat me!"
A blonde-haired man wearing a priest’s uniform threw his head back and laughed madly. A colossal axe materialized above him, its size rivaling an entire region as it descended toward several seemingly tiny figures standing within the fractured subdimensional space of Blue Star’s Second Layer.
There were of them.
Their gazes remained cold and steady, all locked onto the Priest.
An elderly man stepped forward, his long beard swaying as formation sigils rotated around him like orbiting stars.
With a wave of his hand, the axe burst into light.
He then glanced at the nearby 4th Rank High Order Experts before turning toward his allies.
The Grand Polarity Master, supreme formation master and ruler of the Sun and Moon Academy, spoke with grave urgency.
"Everyone, we must end this quickly. If this continues, millions will die today. Their deaths will awaken something far worse. Leon must fall now, or we will all perish."
"Hmph. We all know why we’re here, Grand Polarity Master," a man with sharp dragon-like eyebrows said arrogantly. "You don’t need to repeat it."
This man was none other than Federation Master Luca.
Behind him stood the other Academy Masters, the absolute peak Fourth Rank authorities of the Federation.
Among them was Yin Matriarch Luna, head of the Star Constellation Academy and pioneer of the Star Constellation Cultivation Evolutionary Path.
She possessed a mature, breathtaking beauty. Long black hair cascaded behind her, and her crimson robes flowed like drifting nebulae. Though her aura was calm, it carried a terrifying depth that suggested endless constellations rotating within her body.
"You should watch your tone when addressing your seniors, Kid Luca," Luna said indifferently.
Standing beside her was her sworn sister, another Fourth Rank authority and founder of the Celestial Flame Academy.
Origin Light Sera
Next to Sera stood her husband, Wang Bao, master of the Heaven’s Gate Academy. His presence radiated a heavy and unshakable pressure, like a sealed divine gate guarding heaven itself.
"My, my... Sister Luna," Wang Bao chuckled lightly. "Give the kid a break. He’s probably still angry about how many times the Seer scolded him."
"Tch." Luca folded his arms, his expression filled with disdain. "You people aren’t much older than me. And don’t pretend I’m not stronger than all of you."
"Sister Bai Yue, you should lecture him again," Sera said playfully, giggling.
All eyes shifted toward the final figure among them.
The Seer.
Bai Yue.
She appeared no older than her early twenties. Her beauty was almost ethereal, but her most striking feature was her eyes. Golden irises filled with intricate, rotating patterns shimmered with incomprehensible depth, as if they contained fragments of destiny itself.
Her robes hugged her slender frame, yet her expression remained filled with unease.
"Enough chatter," Bai Yue said quietly.
"Leon is someone even my eyes cannot fully perceive. That alone should tell you how dangerous he is. When the opportunity appears, eliminate him without hesitation."
She paused, then glared at Luca.
"And Luca... control your arrogance."
Luca responded with a cold scoff before turning his head away.
He only tolerated Bai Yue because she was the Seer. Without her foresight, she would have already been erased from existence in his eyes.
To him, the others were nothing but stagnant talents, trapped beneath the invisible wall of the Fifth Rank. He despised standing beside them.
Unlike them, he could feel it.
The threshold of ascension.
Soon, he would reach the Fifth Rank.
And when that day arrived, he would unify the world under his authority. Every living being would kneel before his will.
"Don’t tell me what to do," Luca muttered coldly.
Across the distorted battlefield, Leon listened to their exchange.
Then he burst into laughter.
"The world stands on the edge of annihilation," Leon said mockingly. "Yet the great Fourth Rank guardians of humanity are busy arguing among themselves."
His laughter echoed across the fractured dimension, sending ripples through space itself.
"How amusing."
His smile slowly turned cold.
"The Federation truly is hopeless. Just like its so-called protectors."
A terrifying aura began leaking from his body as the massive axe behind him rotated slowly, radiating divine and sinister energy simultaneously.
"And that," Leon said with a smirk, "is exactly why all of you will fall today."
"So much arrogance," Luca replied coldly, his dragon-like brows lowering as he stared daggers at Leon, "for a man who is about to die."
Without another word, Luca shot forward.
Starlight burst from his body as vast torrents of water spiraled around him, glowing with celestial brilliance. The oceanic currents condensed and roared into existence, forming colossal lions made entirely of radiant water. They twisted through space, swallowing everything in their path as they charged toward Leon.
Leon merely smiled.
"What a loyal dog," he said calmly. "I didn’t even need to provoke you, yet you rushed forward crying for battle."
A grimoire materialized in his hand.
Its pages turned by themselves, black symbols burning across ancient parchment as Leon softly chanted.
"Great Abyssal Flames... burst forth."
The moment the words left his lips, the grimoire exploded with terrifying black fire. The flames spread outward like living shadows, devouring light and heat alike as they surged toward Luca’s incoming attack.
"It’s an Abyssal Treasure," Bai Yue murmured, her golden eyes narrowing as she observed the weapon’s aura. "Born from the natural condensation of corruption and evil within the Abyssal Realm."
"Haha! An Abyssal Treasure?" Luca laughed arrogantly. "This king possesses a Heavenly Treasure as well!"
He raised his hand.
"Spear of Heaven!"
A fragmented spear materialized within his grasp. At first, it appeared cracked and incomplete, but within moments, golden light surged across its surface. The fractures sealed themselves as the spear radiated overwhelming heavenly brilliance, its aura pressing down upon the entire Second Layer of Space.
"This is the Unending Spear of Heaven," Luca declared proudly. "Though only a fragment of the original, it was born from the starry heavens themselves. A treasure formed through the natural condensation of heaven and earth energy, resonating with the laws of this world!"
The water lions roared as they collided with the spear.
Instead of dispersing, they merged into its body. Runic, liquid-like patterns flowed across the spear’s golden surface, amplifying its destructive aura severalfold.
Then both attacks struck.
Boom!
A catastrophic shockwave erupted across the stabilized Second Layer of Space.
Although the Second Layer possessed far stronger spatial integrity than the First, it still trembled violently under the collision. Dimensional currents shattered and scattered, while chaotic spatial storms were forced apart by the overwhelming clash of heavenly and abyssal power.
The battlefield fractured into rippling layers as both forces struggled for dominance, the clash illuminating the entire sub-dimension in blinding gold and devouring black flame.
