Chapter 566: Chapter 266: The Plan

The storage space of the ark was incredibly convenient, just by willing the ark ticket to activate, one could place items from the space right beside oneself.

Retrieving items, however, required a touch, guiding them into the space.

Li Yelai had thought that only items he lifted could be stored.

To his surprise, a mere touch was enough for the ark to whisk them away. So convenient! The ark was indeed a marvelous thing!

And Li Yelai’s storage space was far from small, this time it seemed the Qinling Headquarters was going to be on the receiving end of a thief!

Afterward, Li Yelai and Jing Lin bid farewell to the Captain and parted ways from the ship.

Li Yelai needed to return and prepare to coordinate with his teammates, while Jing Lin was tasked with conveying intelligence back to Giant City.

...

Deep within the Qinling Headquarters, inside a room of the Secluded Fortress,

a burst of white light suddenly illuminated the room, and Li Yelai, clad in the Ming Guang Armor, stepped out from the light.

This time, the gains were substantial indeed.

After returning to the Physical World, Li Yelai wanted to share the joy with Little Mad King but noticed the room was dim, with only faint moonlight streaming through the small window, sprawling across the room.

And on the bed, a beautiful girl was engulfed in slumber. Perhaps due to her deep sleep, her typically cold face now revealed a trace of softness.

Her body was slender and well-proportioned; even through the blanket, one could vaguely discern her astonishingly long legs, softly outlined by the thin fabric, adding a touch of mystery.

She lay on her side on the bed, her fair and beautiful back exposed, as if it were a masterpiece granted by the heavens. Under the moonlight, her skin was like creamy jade, fair and delicate, coated with a faint silver glow, shimmering with captivating luster, irresistibly inviting one to discover more...

"Are you asleep? It is quite late, after all. I won’t disturb you... You really have no sense of caution."

Li Yelai thought to himself and quickly averted his gaze, deciding to head to the hall to Unarmored.

But the next second, the girl’s voice arose, tinged with sleepiness.

"Teammate, you’ve returned much earlier than planned," yawned Little Mad King, wrapped in the blanket, she sat up; her silky hair cascading down and covering her delicate clavicle, yet revealing a different kind of charm.

She looked towards Li Yelai, "It seems you’ve successfully met the challenge, and even completed it ahead of schedule..."

Originally, Li Yelai was to take on the challenge for three days. Owing to the peril of the Dead Sea Wreck, he had estimated a three-day stay.

But Li Yelai and Jing Lin encountered the Border Fleet, thereby completing the challenge ahead of schedule, even sacrificing the core’s skull.

And now it was only the second night.

"Sorry... for disturbing your rest," Li Yelai responded, his back towards her.

"It’s okay, these past two days have been too relaxing for me, I failed to notice your return immediately."

For Little Mad King, these two days had been a rare chance for leisure and relaxation.

She often lurked in the wilderness or Forbidden Zone, always vigilant.

Now she felt like she’d grown a bit careless over these relaxed days.

But in reality, even in sleep, she had been clearly aware of Li Yelai’s return, her perceptions still sharp.

Seeing Li Yelai’s back to her, Little Mad King donned her pajamas, stepped off the bed, and took a seat on the nearby sofa, asking, "Was the challenge dangerous, teammate?"

Li Yelai then turned to look at Little Mad King and nodded, "There were some risks, but it also allowed me to witness the glory of heroes."

Li Yelai shared his experiences on the Dead Sea Wreck with Little Mad King.

"You did well. To them, this is the greatest solace. If I were to die in battle someday, you must use the Nether River Horn to awaken me so I can fight alongside you.

But you were still rather reckless, offering your head to the Blood God without much thought. It surely increases your Spiritual Power Strength, but one misstep could have twisted you. I’ve reviewed the Church’s records; a significant number of believers have lost themselves in the blessing, becoming nothing more than irrational killing machines. Not much different from a Bloodsucker."

Li Yelai nodded, "Indeed... but to instill fear in the essence of the Dead Sea Wreck, I had no choice but to invoke the Blood God’s name. The deterrent power of Chaos is immense; that ’Nine Infant’ like entity didn’t dare to get reckless with the Blood God. That was the only way to free the Yan Yun Fleet from the wreck."

"Yan Yun Fleet, a Mechanical Soul?" pondered Little Mad King for a moment before responding, "Legends do say some machines develop self-awareness in environments rich with Void Realm power. This carries significant risks, not all Mechanical Souls are as loyal to Humans as the Yan Yun Fleet."

"Yes, even the Fleet Soldiers say so. Giant City must be wary of the birth of Mechanical Souls. If a Mechanical Soul emerges among the city’s equipment and becomes corrupted by Chaos, that would be a disaster." Li Yelai nodded in agreement.

"Next are the two Taboo Items you brought back. The Emotion Pocket Watch is of great help to us. But what effect does this black staff have?" Little Mad King picked up the black staff, attempting to bend it with both hands without even a slight give; even when imbued with Spiritual Energy, there was no response.

"I’m not sure of the effect, but it can at least be used as a weapon. It’s really hard." Li Yelai replied.

"That must be the most frustrating use for a Taboo Item," laughed Little Mad King, "Is the plan still the same?"

"Yep, unchanged," Li Yelai responded, "We still move on the fourth day."

In the original plan, the support team dispatched by Giant City was to launch an attack on the Main Base.
