Naruto: Wooing Tsunade from Day One!-Chapter 573: All-Killing Ash Bones
Chapter 573 - 573: All-Killing Ash Bones
"Will this surgery take a long time?"
Kawakaze had never undergone such a major operation in either of his two lives. Lying on the operating table, he turned to Misaki, who was busy preparing.
"I have no idea."
"I've never seen this kind of surgery before either."
"To be honest, this is a valuable learning experience for me."
"Thanks, brother-in-law."
Misaki didn't seem worried at all. As she arranged the surgical instruments, there was even a hint of excitement on her face.
Hearing the metallic clink of scalpels against the instrument tray, Kawakaze couldn't help but glance over.
"This one is for cutting open the skin on your back."
"This one slices through flesh."
"This one separates the bone joints."
"And this..."
Thinking he was curious, Misaki enthusiastically explained each tool's function.
"Stop, stop."
"I really appreciate it."
Just imagining those instruments being used on him made Kawakaze's skin crawl. He quickly turned his head away.
"Oh, so you don't want to know?"
"Alright, I won't say more."
Misaki's eyes twinkled mischievously as she smirked.
Once all the tools were neatly arranged, Orochimaru and Tsunade finally entered.
"Look at this—such a well-formed vertebra, don't you think?"
Orochimaru lifted a transparent container, holding it directly above Kawakaze's face so he could get a good look.
"I don't want to see it. Take it away."
Kawakaze shut his eyes immediately.
This bastard was doing it on purpose.
"I think it looks pretty good. Maybe it'll even make Kawakaze a few centimeters taller."
Tsunade played along with Orochimaru, clearly teaming up to pressure Kawakaze.
"Just hurry up and give me the anesthesia."
"I don't want to hear anything."
"I just want to sleep through this."
Kawakaze obediently turned over and kept his eyes shut the entire time.
"The anesthesia might not work on you, you know."
"If it doesn't, you'll just have to tough it out."
"Tsunade and I will be quick."
Orochimaru slapped Kawakaze's sturdy back with a heavy thud.
"Screw off, just do it already."
Kawakaze didn't believe a word of Orochimaru's nonsense. Creating a stronger anesthetic was hardly a challenge for him.
"Oh? So feisty?"
Seeing Kawakaze so completely at their mercy, Orochimaru's playful mood kicked in. His gaze wandered over Kawakaze, as if considering what to do next.
"Alright, stop messing with him."
"Let's begin."
Tsunade's timely intervention saved Kawakaze from further torment.
As the anesthesia was injected, Kawakaze's head quickly grew heavier, and soon, his consciousness faded.
"Hey, hey."
Tsunade gave him two firm pushes. When he didn't react, she finally relaxed.
Taking the scalpel from Orochimaru, the two exchanged a brief glance and nodded.
Tsunade took a deep breath before making the first incision, slicing cleanly through Kawakaze's back.
Orochimaru followed up immediately. With their perfect coordination, it wasn't long before Kawakaze's spine was fully exposed.
"His healing ability is insane."
"Even unconscious, his body is regenerating at this speed."
Orochimaru frowned. He hadn't expected Kawakaze's body to have such an overwhelming self-recovery rate.
He could clearly see the writhing motion of the regenerating flesh around Kawakaze's exposed spine.
"It really is amazing."
"But right now, it's just making things more difficult for us."
Tsunade kept breaking apart the regenerating tissue, which only made the surgery more challenging.
"Then let's speed things up."
Orochimaru gave a slight smile. With a swift motion, Kawakaze's spine was completely severed from his body.
Pop—
The vertebrae made a dull sound as Tsunade extracted them.
"Hand it over."
Orochimaru extended his hand, and Misaki passed him the replacement spine crafted by Rinnosuke.
As time passed, the operation neared its conclusion.
When Tsunade finished suturing Kawakaze's back, the surgery was officially complete.
In just a few breaths, there was no trace of any wound left on Kawakaze's back.
"Finally done."
Orochimaru wiped away nonexistent sweat from his forehead. It was clear this procedure had taken a considerable amount of effort.
"The new spine is fusing with Kawakaze's body quickly."
"There shouldn't be any complications."
While speaking, Tsunade attached electrode patches to Kawakaze's body. The moment she was done, she eagerly turned to check the readings on the monitor.
"Relax, everything is normal."
Orochimaru glanced at the data and reassured her.
"Alright, let's wait for him to wake up."
Tsunade didn't step away, quietly staying by Kawakaze's side.
...
No one knew how much time had passed before Kawakaze let out a faint groan and gradually regained consciousness.
"Don't tell me it's still not over?"
As soon as he opened his eyes and saw Tsunade, he assumed the surgery was still ongoing.
"It's long over."
"Try sitting up."
Tsunade reached out, turning Kawakaze onto his back and helping him sit upright.
"I feel fine, no issues."
Kawakaze moved his arms a little. There was no discomfort at all.
"No other sensations?"
By the time Kawakaze fully woke up, Orochimaru had already come over from the nearby seating area.
"You mean this feeling?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Kawakaze stretched out his palm, facing it forward.
Before everyone's eyes, a long, gray bone staff rapidly grew from his hand.
"Not white?"
Orochimaru immediately questioned. Was this the true color of the All-Killing Ash Bones?
"This is the correct color."
Kawakaze glanced at it and nodded in satisfaction.
He could feel the immense destructive power contained within the bone.
"So, it worked?"
"You're not feeling any discomfort?"
For Tsunade, Kawakaze's well-being was still the top priority.
"Don't worry, I feel great."
Kawakaze retracted the bone, pulled off the electrode patches, and stepped off the operating table.
After watching him walk around the room twice, Tsunade finally felt relieved.
"We did our part exactly as you asked."
"Now it's your turn, isn't it?"
Orochimaru didn't need to say it outright—Kawakaze already knew what he was referring to.
"Of course."
"Wait for my good news."
A confident smile appeared on Kawakaze's face. Now that he had the power of the All-Killing Ash Bones, his chances of capturing Madara alive had significantly increased.
"You're heading out already?"
Watching Kawakaze get dressed, Tsunade felt he was rushing things.
If any side effects appeared in battle, it would be disastrous.
"I know my own body."
"Just wait for my good news."
Kawakaze adjusted his clothes. With a crisp snap of his fingers, he vanished from the operating room.
"He really is impatient."
Orochimaru stared at the spot where Kawakaze had disappeared, momentarily lost in thought.
He hadn't expected Kawakaze to leave the moment the operation was done.
"I'll find someone to notify Chiyo."
Since Kawakaze was already gone, Tsunade stopped dwelling on it. She took off her lab coat and quickly left the lab.
She had no doubt—Kawakaze would bring Madara back.
