Naruto: This Genius is Somewhat Ordinary-Chapter 411
It was a rare day.
Fujimoto Tōma stayed home.
He helped his mother, Fujimoto Sana, with chores, folding laundry, wiping counters, doing all the ordinary things he almost never did anymore.
After everything was finished, Sana wiped the sweat from her forehead and glanced at him sideways.
"If you’ve got something to say, just say it."
"...Was I that obvious?" Tōma scratched his head.
"You never stay home during the day unless something’s wrong," she replied flatly.
Fair.
He was technically the ruler of a nation. Even when his real body wasn’t working, a shadow incarnation usually was.
After a short pause, he spoke quietly.
"Mom... I think I’m about to leave."
Sana froze.
Not the kind of freeze people do when they don’t hear properly.
The kind that comes when they understand exactly what was just said.
"...For how long?" her voice trembled.
"I don’t know. Maybe a few years. Maybe longer."
Silence filled the room.
After a long while, Tōma forced a small smile.
"I’ll still be with you, though."
Sana looked at him, confused.
So he explained.
About his dual souls.
About how the stronger half would leave to pursue a higher path, while the weaker half would remain here, living normally, staying with her and Ino.
They weren’t clones.
They were one person.
Two bodies.
One mind.
One emotional core.
Sana listened, dazed.
"...So... one of you is leaving, and one of you is staying?"
"Pretty much."
She thought about it for a long time.
Then finally exhaled.
"...I guess I can accept that."
Tōma smiled in relief.
"In that case, you should’ve just said it properly. You scared me half to death."
"...Sorry."
She rolled her eyes.
"Did you tell Ino yet?"
"Not yet. She’s still working."
Sana nodded.
"And you’re still giving me grandchildren, right?"
"...Yes, Mom."
"Good. Now go tell your wife before she murders you."
The intelligence office.
Tōma appeared outside without warning.
The guards nearly hit the alarm before recognizing him.
They bowed in panic.
He waved them away and knocked.
"Come in."
Ino’s calm, professional voice.
She didn’t even look up.
"If you’ve got files, put them there. Close the door on your way out."
Tōma leaned against the doorframe, amused.
After a few seconds, she looked up.
"...Tōma?"
He walked over and sat in her chair, pulling her back onto his lap.
"In public?" she whispered, blushing.
"I sent everyone away."
"...You’re awful."
She still relaxed into his arms.
After a while, he told her everything.
The split.
The departure.
The plan.
Ino sighed.
"Of course. You never come here for no reason."
"...I’ll work on that."
She nodded.
She’d known about his dual-soul nature for years.
And honestly?
She’d already prepared herself for something much worse.
This was... better than expected.
She stood up, walked to the door, and locked it.
Then returned, sat facing him, arms around his neck.
"Then don’t hold back."
Night.
Tōma stood alone atop his mountain.
He had switched bodies.
This one was created through advanced Yin–Yang Release.
Weaker than his original.
Still Six Paths level.
More than enough.
He hadn’t told anyone else.
There was no point.
To the world, nothing was changing.
He closed his eyes.
Then caught the moon sprite sneaking up behind him.
"...You little traitor."
"Gula~"
It begged.
He sighed.
"...Fine. But don’t get lost."
The sprite cheered and perched on his shoulder.
"Alright."
He brought two fingers together and sliced the air.
A jagged spatial rift opened.
The turbulence beyond it made even him feel a faint chill.
Random destination.
Unknown world.
Unknown danger.
He smiled.
"This is more like it."
He stepped forward without hesitation.
