Naruto: Reborn as Neji Hyuga After Dying in One Piece-Chapter 28. That Shade of Violet
Chapter 28 - 28. That Shade of Violet
◉◉◉◉◉
A few days later beneath his private lab.
Neji stood before a large scroll-covered diagram of the human body, marked with glowing points and interwoven lines.
He exhaled deeply, then nodded to himself.
"Finally... the last variable is solved. Chakra control stabilized. Adjustable output. Sustainable healing."
The tattoo-based seal system was complete.
At its core, the seal was designed to regulate and compress chakra output during [Eight Gates] activation, allowing for just enough retained control to prevent self-destruction.
The tattoo couldn't be used for direct combat or ninjutsu, not yet. But through applied seal logic, it could stimulate key pressure points encouraging rapid healing at a cellular level.

A primitive version of [Healing Hands].
The eventual goal? Mystic Palm is true medical-class regeneration.
Outside of combat, it also enabled mild chakra modulation slowing cellular decay and preserving vitality.
An artificial fountain of youth.
Though invisible under normal circumstances, the seal did leave one permanent trace, A visible anchor tattoo is the core of the technique.
All of this had been developed through relentless trial and error, enhanced by Neji's system skill: [Life Return] a technique allowing precise internal control over bodily functions.
"Guess it needs a name now..." he mused aloud.
He didn't expect the seal's use to remain limited to healing. It would likely evolve.
"Let's keep it simple Healing Seal."
He smirked.
"No need to get fancy. It does what it says."
With that settled, Neji moved into the training chamber.
The space had been remodeled entirely. The walls, floors, and even the ceiling all gleamed a pristine white. Underfoot, the floor gave a soft crunch, though the sound was illusionary.
This material [Island Cloud] was sourced from Skypiea in the One Piece world.
Worthless to most, but unbelievably comfortable. It made for a training space that was part dojo, part dreamscape.
Within it, Izumi was training her figure cutting through the air with explosive grace. She had successfully mastered the [Eight Gates]. Now, she was refining control.
"Izumi."
At his voice, her focused aura receded.
She turned to him, brushing a damp strand of hair from her cheek.
"Neji. Is it done?"
"It's ready. Are you?"
Izumi hesitated, glancing down at her sweat-soaked clothing.
"Give me a moment. I'd like to shower and change."
Neji nodded.
"Of course. A clean slate will help the process. Sticky skin messes with seal placement."
She blushed faintly but nodded, retreating toward the chamber's adjacent bath.
As the water began to run behind closed doors, Neji prepped the materials.
He organized his tools, purified the ink medium, and arranged chakra needles. His mind wandered to one final unknown.
What design would she choose?
...
Time passed. The door creaked open.
Neji looked up and froze.
Izumi stood there, her long raven hair pinned into an elegant bun. She wore a deep violet kimono, its silky folds clinging to her tall, graceful frame.
The soft smile on her lips... the tiny tear-shaped mole beneath her right eye... the poise... the composure...
At that moment, she didn't just look like a kunoichi.
She looked like a bride.
Neji blinked, momentarily stunned.
Izumi stepped forward, knelt formally before him, and bowed her head.
"Neji-kun," she said softly, "I'm ready."
The change in tone and honorific caught him off guard. He snapped back to reality.
Only now did it fully register this seal... this technique... It wasn't being modeled on Lee's body anymore.
It was Izumi's body that would bear the mark. And she had come prepared completely.
Suppressing the slight flush creeping into his face, Neji cleared his throat.
"Have you chosen the design?"
"A lavender bloom," she said. "Purple lavender. I've always loved the color."
Neji paused.
He remembered the symbolism.
Lavender. The flower of hopeless love.
"...Got it. This will sting. Brace yourself."
"I'm ready."
He placed a hand on her bare shoulder. Her skin, warm and soft from the bath, felt like silk beneath his fingertips.
Neji's expression shifted. His entire presence became focused. He channeled the chakra through the needle.
This wasn't ink. This was a seal.
A living matrix, forged from chakra and etched into flesh.
As the first glyph burned to life against her skin, Izumi winced a ripple of chakra heat flowing beneath her skin as Neji's energy penetrated her system.
Like rain soaking into the soil, his chakra threaded through her chakra network awakening each point, calibrating, regulating, and embedding.
Her brows furrowed, lips trembling as she bit down gently.
But she didn't resist.
She felt the heat, the energy, the pulse.
She allowed it in.
The first lavender bloom blossomed over her heart.
Then another.
And another.
Each glyph unfurled like petals, spreading across her upper body inked from the chakra itself.
When the last point connected, her body convulsed with a quiet gasp, and then... a wave of warmth spread through her.
Her muscles, sore from [Eight Gates] training, pulsed with sudden vitality.
The bruises vanished.
The inflammation soothed.
Torn muscle fibers are repaired at supernatural speed.
It felt like she was being rebuilt from the inside out.
Neji finally exhaled. He hadn't realized he'd been holding his breath.
"...Done."
The sprawling violet blossoms that had covered her torso slowly faded leaving only a single delicate strand stretching from her heart to her collarbone.
Her core seal.
She pulled her robe back over herself, though the edge of violet still peeked just beneath her collar.
This was the anchor of the [Healing Seal].
It would regulate her chakra, subtly balance her energy flow, and eventually preserve her youth.
