"Very well." Orochimaru agreed without hesitation. This was a win-win situation.

"I can't guarantee any results, though."

"That's fine. Just don't half-ass it."

"Orochimaru, Pain wants to see you. Something important." Sasori's voice echoed from outside.

"Indeed. I have a mission for you."

"What kind of mission? If it's too easy, I'm not interested," Sasori said. He'd rather continue his puppet research.

"Yagura, the Fifth Mizukage, has learned a crucial secret about the Akatsuki. Your mission is to eliminate him."

Eliminating Yagura was the safest course of action.

Yagura was on guard now, and Obito's Sharingan wouldn't be as effective. And if a fight broke out, Obito couldn't defeat Yagura quickly. Facing the entire village, he would be forced to flee.
