Yayoi, having taken on her Six Paths form, began a fierce and intense battle against her enemy.
Their fists and kicks clashed violently, and each collision unleashed terrifying shockwaves that made the entire village of Konoha tremble.
The scene resembled the end of the world itself, evoking memories of that joint Chunin Examination from many years ago.
Back then, on a similarly devastating battlefield, the First Hokage fought against a powerful enemy.
The sky had turned dark, the sun and moon had lost their light, and in the end, Konoha lost the person most important to it.
And now, what about this time?
In this all too familiar scene, what would Konoha stand to lose?
Countless people closed their eyes tightly, silently praying for their already beleaguered village.
Outside the battlefield, members of the ANBU quietly began to move, subtly spreading rumors and false information that the Senju clan was rebelling.
In the eyes of many civilians, the Senju clan had long held overwhelming power, to the point where even the Konoha Police Force often showed little regard for the Hokage's authority.
How could such a powerful clan suddenly stage a rebellion without cause?
Although some people harbored doubts, the majority began cursing furiously, venting resentment that had been suppressed in their hearts for many years.
"That damned Police Force. I always knew they were no good."
"They are both founding clans of the village, so why is there such a huge gap between the Senju and the Uchiha?"
"The real difference lies in the people themselves."
"Serves the Senju right! I was just running a simple stall, who did I ever bother?"
"In my opinion, they are simply jealous of the Uchiha. I have seen many narrow-minded people like them."
"Senju Tobirama was a disgrace to his ancestors!"
"Ever since Lord Hashirama passed away, the Senju have fallen completely into decline."
"Hmph, a bunch of traitors. They will not escape judgment tonight."
A tidal wave of public opinion surged through the village, thoroughly nailing the Senju to the pillar of shame.
Of course, not everyone agreed. There were still those who stood up to question and defend the Senju. After all, they were once a renowned clan during the Warring States Era and had many allies.
Even with the ANBU manipulating the narrative from behind the scenes, many people still spoke in defense of the Senju, and their numbers were not few.
No matter what was said, the crimes of the Senju were not enough to warrant death, certainly not enough to justify the extermination of the entire clan.
However, to stabilize public sentiment, a scapegoat was needed, and that role had been assigned to Senju Nawaki.
It would appear as if an internal conflict had broken out within the Senju itself, and even if Konoha wished to save them, it would be powerless to do so.
As for why the situation had escalated to such a devastating scale, the explanation was simple.
The culprit was incredibly powerful and had colluded with Sanfang, a top-level warrior, resulting in the complete slaughter of the Senju clan.
The clan leader, Tobirama, fought the two with his life on the line but ultimately fell in battle. Even so, he managed to drag Sanfang down into the abyss with him before dying.
What a convenient and pleasant story it was.
The script had long been prepared. All that remained was to put it into action.
As long as Six Paths Yayoi could defeat her enemy, the matter of the young Nawaki would be swiftly dealt with by others.
The once glorious Senju clan was destined to become nothing more than dust in the pages of history. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
Within the barrier, the fierce battle between Yayoi and the enemy continued to rage.
Even the barrier, strong enough to withstand the Tailed Beast Bomb of the Ten-Tails, was now beginning to show signs of strain under the overwhelming force of their battle.
This alone proved that the aftershocks of their clashes had already reached the level of high-tier Six Paths power.
A deafening crash rang out as the "Evening Elephant" technique was shattered head-on by Yayoi's golden light beam.
Sanfang gasped heavily for breath, his eyes burning with a crazed and twisted fervor.
"As expected of the woman I set my eyes on," the man muttered hoarsely.
"Now, I will risk everything to unleash my strongest taijutsu assault."
"Speaking of which, I should be grateful to that guy. Without him illuminating the path ahead, I would never have found a way to deal with opponents like you."
The body of one who had reached the Six Paths level had an extraordinary recovery ability.
To completely destroy such an opponent, one had to inflict massive and widespread destruction upon their body.
Simply landing a single heavy blow, no matter how spectacular, would achieve little lasting effect.
Back when Kyōsuke had defeated Isshiki, he had pulverized his enemy's body into dust, leaving no intact piece of flesh from which to regenerate. No matter how powerful the healing ability was, it became useless without a body to heal.
Inspired by Kyōsuke's example, Sanfang abandoned the idea of achieving victory with a single decisive strike. Instead, he trained in high-frequency, continuous attacks that aimed to wear down and break apart the body piece by piece.
Yayoi understood this man's methods well and had prepared countermeasures specifically against the Eight Gates Release Formation technique.
Likewise, how could the man not understand the woman? He knew that her mind was deep and cautious, that her true trump cards and hidden means would never be exposed lightly.
Even though the Death Gate was immensely powerful, it was not necessarily enough to achieve overwhelming victory in one stroke.
Looking at the current situation, the man's earlier caution had clearly been the right decision.
Now, as he prepared to unleash this move, Sanfang was fully aware that it would cost him his life. Yet, he did not care. To him, stepping into the afterlife alongside the woman he loved was a blissful fate.
"Haah!" he roared as red steam erupted from his body, his hair and beard flying wildly in the air. His entire figure took on a terrifying, demonic appearance that made anyone who saw him shudder.
Even without dojutsu, everyone could sense that the next strike would be the man's final, desperate attack.
It was an all-or-nothing assault fueled by his very life force. Its power would undoubtedly be earth-shattering.
In other words, the battle was approaching its conclusion.
"Come, let us go to hell together!!!" With a furious roar, the blood-colored steam surged and exploded to its peak in an instant.
Even Yayoi, who had remained calm throughout the battle, now wore an exceptionally grave expression. She understood that if she made even the slightest mistake, she might truly take a trip to the Pure Land.
Although it would only be a brief trip, and nothing more.
Given her abilities, resurrecting herself would not be a particularly difficult task.
However, if one could avoid death, it was only natural to prefer staying alive.
For this reason, Yayoi had already made certain arrangements beforehand, although it remained unclear whether they would come in time.
Just as she was about to stake everything on meeting the enemy's ultimate attack head-on, a bright and radiant smile suddenly bloomed across Yayoi's face.
It was dazzlingly beautiful, so much so that even Sanbukyō, who was prepared to die, could not help but freeze, dazed by the sight.
It was only when a red fishing hook pierced through his body that he belatedly realized something was wrong.
"Hehe, a beautiful woman's charm is really something, isn't it?" a playful voice rang out, revealing the figure of Uchiha Nagisa.
It was only then that everyone realized that the so-called "Little Tyrant of Konoha" had somehow, without anyone noticing, appeared within the battlefield.
"I see now," muttered Uchiha Kochou, a flash of understanding crossing her face.
No wonder that cold and reserved woman had remained so calm all along. It turned out she had already arranged a backup plan. By erasing her ally's presence, they had managed to sneak him to the enemy's side, ensuring that they could launch an attack from a distance where it would be impossible to miss.
As for that crimson fishing rod, Kochou recognized it instantly. It was the same one that little Kaoru loved to carry around all day, swinging it everywhere she went.
Ordinary Kage-level experts would turn into jelly-legged weaklings the moment they were hooked once.
The enemy's taijutsu, at its core, was supported by an overwhelming amount of chakra.
Now that he had been struck unknowingly, it was likely only a matter of time before he completely collapsed.
"No wonder she lost interest in him. All that bragging, and yet he could not even stay hard for a few minutes," Uchiha Kochou muttered to herself, though her voice was far from quiet.
Without a trace of emotion on her face, Yayoi cast her a sidelong glance, then turned away and charged forward, intercepting the furious Sanfang before he could erupt again.
"Forgive me," she said softly, her voice calm and clear, "but I have no intention of dying with you."
She paused, her gaze as serene as a still lake.
"To be fair, I do owe you. But it does not matter. There are already many people I am indebted to. One more will make no difference."
With a sharp and wet sound, Yayoi's hand pierced through the man's chest.
Her expression remained utterly calm, showing not the slightest ripple of emotion. It was as if she were merely completing a trivial task, unbothered and detached.
This alone was proof enough that, in her heart, the man had never truly held any significance.
