In the end, Uchiha Kaoru failed to stand as the last one on the battlefield.
The academy's entrance exam was originally meant to offer the children a glimpse into the exciting life of a shinobi.
While it was meant to guide them, the teachers also needed to maintain their authority. They could not afford to let these young children see them as weak or laughable.
Therefore, it was absolutely unacceptable for a group of teachers to be humiliated by a single chubby little girl.
Otherwise, who would ever take their words seriously again?
And so the question arose—who should step forward to defeat the daughter of the Third Hokage?
Facts quickly proved that a chunin-level shinobi simply wasn't enough.
This girl's fishing rod could hook chakra out of thin air, and her little fish basket could absorb chakra too. She was unfazed by close-range taijutsu and even more indifferent to long-range ninjutsu.
To make matters worse, they could not use shuriken or kunai out of concern they might accidentally injure a student.
It was, without exaggeration, the most frustrating battle any of them had ever fought.
Some of the teachers still harbored hope that the Hokage's daughter might show mercy and stop once she had proven her strength. However, to their dismay, the strange creature perched atop her head continued to spur her on.
"Fight! You must fight until everyone knows our name!"
"With a good reputation, we'll earn lots of points! Then we can trade them for all kinds of rare treats we don't usually get to eat!"
The gluttonous little slug continued to whisper temptations into Uchiha Kaoru's ears.
The chubby girl could not resist such persuasion. The moment she heard it say that peanuts could be eaten one after another, drool began to trickle from the corner of her mouth.
Anyone who didn't know better might have thought the Hokage's family was living in poverty.
"I must make a name for myself!" the little girl declared with confidence, hands on her hips, her eyes gleaming with determination.
What she failed to realize was that her words gave a group of teachers a major headache.
If they were to take things seriously, without involving Momo, Kaoru had no chance of standing against a jōnin.
Yet no jōnin was willing to truly go all out against a child. If word got out, they would be laughed at by the entire village.
As one chunin after another fell in defeat, the head instructor could no longer stand by. Resigned, he went to seek the help of someone who could put an end to this farce.
"Please help us. Only you can handle her."
Not long after, a familiar face appeared on the dueling platform.
"A-auntie..." the chubby girl's face fell at once, all her confidence crumbling away.
Normally, Kaoru feared nothing and no one. After her grandfather's return, not even her mother Eri could discipline her.
There was only one exception—one person who doted on her endlessly, who bought her anything she asked for.
Yet when she truly angered this person, she would receive firm punishment, including spankings that made her cry.
This person was none other than Uchiha Nagisa, the younger sister of Kaoru's father, Haruto.
"Hmph, so you think you're something now?" Nagisa looked at the small girl holding a chakra-imbued fishing rod, equal parts amused and exasperated.
When the instructor had hurried to her in desperation, she thought Kaoru must have gotten into trouble.
But after hearing the full story, she could only laugh in disbelief.
Relying on a powerful tool gifted by her father, this little girl had gone around bullying the academy's instructors during the welcome ceremony. Did she not fear being punished when she got home?
Well, she did have reason to be fearless. Their father doted on her to an unimaginable degree. With that kind of backing, the little girl had grown bold.
Facing her niece's timid eyes, Nagisa stepped forward slowly. Today, she would take this opportunity to offer her niece a proper childhood lesson.
"Allow me to be your opponent," she said firmly, suddenly moving to Kaoru's side and reaching for the glowing red fishing rod.
Before she could discipline the child, she had to first take away her weapon. That rod really was a troublesome item.
Despite her fierce demeanor, Nagisa had no intention of truly hurting her niece. However, she quickly realized she had underestimated the little girl.
"I'll dodge!" Kaoru shouted, lowering her body and rolling swiftly along the ground, evading Nagisa's grasp.
She had narrowly avoided being disarmed.
Seeing this, Nagisa no longer held back. It was time to end this farce.
"Hand it over."
As soon as Kaoru climbed back to her feet, she found her aunt already behind her. One end of the fishing rod was now in Nagisa's hand.
"Nooooo~" she cried out.
Suddenly, there was a sharp snap. Under Uchiha Nagisa's shocked gaze, her hand was forcefully repelled, as if she had been electrocuted.
Her eyes widened in surprise. The little girl stood before her, cheeks puffed in defiance.
Still unconvinced, Nagisa reached out once more.
"I don't want to give it to you," Kaoru said stubbornly.
Again, her hand was snapped away, bouncing back with greater force.
This time, Nagisa had activated her Sharingan. She was certain—there was no chakra flowing through the rod.
"What is going on?" she murmured in confusion.
Seizing the opportunity, Kaoru grabbed her fish basket and pointed the pitch-black opening at her aunt.
"Take this! My ninjutsu attack!"
In an instant, a burst of purple lightning shot forth, filled with a very familiar aura.
"It's Father's chakra," Nagisa said with a helpless smile. She could not believe the extent of her father's indulgence.
He had even infused one of his ninjutsu into the basket meant for storing chakra. Was he not afraid this mischievous child would one day cause serious trouble?
Ignoring the oncoming purple lightning, Nagisa calmly pulled out a storage scroll.
With a loud bang, a massive jar emerged, completely blocking the attack.
"Huh?" Kaoru stared wide-eyed, looking at her small basket, then at the enormous jar that now stood before her.
"Hehe, impressive, isn't it?" A mischievous smile appeared on Nagisa's face.
"I-it's okay, I guess..." Kaoru mumbled with growing unease. She hadn't expected her aunt to be hiding such a giant weapon.
No sooner had she spoken than a powerful suction began to emanate from the jar.
"What's happening—" Before she could finish her sentence, she was sucked inside with a soft pop.
Seeing her little niece fall right into the trap, Uchiha Nagisa burst into laughter, hands planted proudly on her hips. Amused and just a little smug, she thought to herself that this little brat actually dared to challenge her.
Back when this auntie was wreaking havoc on the moon, you hadn't even been born.
After exchanging a few casual words with familiar faces among the school staff, Uchiha Nagisa promptly turned and left, carrying the jar in her arms as if it were no more than a bundle of groceries.
The tool she held in her hand was no ordinary object. It was the treasured artifact known as the Kohaku no Jōhei, the Amber Purifying Pot, once taken by her father from the infamous brothers, Kinkaku and Ginkaku.
Little Kaoru, completely unaware of what she had just triggered, had instinctively answered her aunt's call, sealing her own fate and getting pulled into the jar.
As for the strange repelling force surrounding it, that was simply a part of its power. After all, this was a legendary ninja tool created by the Sage of Six Paths himself, capable of sealing even tailed beasts. There was no way a child like her could resist it.
No matter how talented she was, Kaoru was still too young to overcome such a force.
"Let me out~" came the muffled cry from within the jar.
Feeling the jar tremble ever so slightly, Uchiha Nagisa grinned mischievously, sensing the perfect opportunity to assert her authority once and for all.
"Are you going to behave from now on?" she asked in a playful but firm tone.
"Yes, I will," came the quick and defeated response.
"And who are you going to listen to from now on?"
"I'll listen to Auntie~" the little girl replied obediently, her voice echoing from within.
With that, the Uchiha family's little domestic squabble came to a close—but over on the Senju side, something unusual had just begun.
"Stop!"
A voice rang out, calm yet filled with anger. In an instant, life-filled trees sprang up violently, their thick vines and branches surging forward to bind several members of the Senju clan who stood in the distance.
Senju Nawaki was furious—deeply and utterly furious.
Time and again, he had told himself to endure it. He believed that once he came into power and took control of the clan, he would be able to change its fate, perhaps even end the cycle of hatred that had plagued them for generations.
But as he grew older, as he saw more of the truth behind his family's history, Nawaki slowly came to a painful realization.
Even if he became the head of the clan, even if he had absolute authority, he could never erase the hatred rooted between the Senju and the Uchiha.
And today, the Police Force once again resorted to violent enforcement.
Unable to tolerate it any longer, Nawaki finally lashed out with overwhelming force.
