Myths Reawakened-Chapter 199 (2): Who Knows When I’ll Fulfill My Wish
December second.
The investigation team completed their tasks and chartered a flight back to Londan from Fawst City Airport—yes, there was an airport in Fawst, so there was never a need to take ships and trains.
Wayne had obtained the obelisk, completed his mission to rob the rich and feed the poor, eaten and drunk his fill, and played enough cards. He flew directly back to Londan, after which he headed straight to the Ministry of Magic with Sandy to sign the investigation report, officially concluding the mission.
“Miss Sandy, it’s been a pleasure working with you. I hope we’ll have another chance to work together.”
“Likewise.”
There was nothing else Sandy could say. She smiled wryly and ex... extracted her hand.
“By the way, may I have the honor of inviting you to a movie?”
“No, thank you. Sir Wayne is so outstanding that you deserve a younger woman.” Sandy hastily drew the line while feeling secretly proud of her charm.
“How regretful.” Wayne shrugged, his face showing little actual regret. “Please make sure to sign for the box of money. Since it’s stolen, be careful not to let your colleagues discover it.”
(눈_눈)
Sandy saw right through him. Wayne had purposely waited until a few of her colleagues were passing by to give her the reminder.

Lando Estate.
Wayne failed to sneak up on and grab Monica, much to his disappointment. He sat down in the study, waiting for Auston. Before Megan closed the door and set up a soundproofing barrier, he had the butler bring the cat over. He wanted a good petting session later.
Megan had long grown accustomed to his uncanny resemblance to Auston.
“What do you want from me? Isn’t the matter about the Snow family resolved?” Auston looked at Wayne with a brewing headache. Every time Wayne went out, he managed to stir up a great mess, leaving Auston unsure of how to train his heir properly.
Although Wayne had been smart this time and given him a heads-up so that the Queen could clean up the mess, the fact that he had uncovered numerous demon vessels during a simple raid proved that he attracted trouble like a magnet.
None of the other investigation teams had found anything, but you just so happened to stumble on them. No wonder the Church of Heavenly Father sent you a secretary—you run into demons wherever you go. Who else would they have picked?
“The Snow family is gone, but there is more to the story.”
“I know. Her Majesty will handle that. It’s not in our place to worry.”
“No, that’s not what I mean.” Wayne lowered his voice and described the mysterious man and the Book of Hell he took. “He doesn’t feel like a member of the Ministry of Magic, and it’s unlikely for him to be from the Church of Heavenly Father. There are other demons in Londan.”
Auston asked for more details with a dark expression, playing with his antique silver coin for a silent moment. “I know someone with extensive knowledge of hell. He might have leads, but I’m not sure whether to consult him.”
“Who?”
“Frank Turner.”
“Turner...” Wayne repeated the surname. “Is he also a member of the Tulip Families?”
“Yes.”
Auston briefly described the Turner family. Just like the now-sidelined Patino family, the Turners had fallen into a long decline due to a legendary mage’s betrayal, and they still hadn’t recovered. Their numbers dwindled until only Frank remained as the sole successor.
The man was a freak but a genius. He liked magic, but not the orthodox type. Hell, divination, dark magic—the more insidious something was, the more interested he was in studying it.
Frank was particularly passionate about hell, and turning his hobby into his career, he managed to become the Ministry of Magic’s hell expert after fifty years of dedicated study. He led a secret department and maintained close relationships with several legendary mages. There were also rumors that he was close to the Queen.
Wayne’s scalp prickled. “Maybe we should forget about it. What if we uncover something else? Windsor is already a constitutional monarchy. It doesn’t have to become a republic like Franc.”
He was quite satisfied with the current regime. He was heir to a major capitalist family, able to latch onto the Queen’s thigh. If this one didn’t work well, there could always be another. Windsor absolutely shouldn’t learn the wrong lessons from Franc and send the monarch to the guillotine.
“Even so, there may be a powerful demon in Londan. While it’s only a possibility now, I have to look into it.” Auston rolled his eyes at Wayne. He would report this matter to the minister, and it would be her call how the subsequent investigation should be conducted.
At the same time, he would investigate in secret, and if things looked bad, he would stop immediately.
“There’s another matter I’m concerned about,” Wayne said. “I ran into a supervisor from MI6 at the airport. He told me that at MI6, you either get fired or stay as a member. No resignation is possible. He asked me to cooperate and continue to feed Franc false information.”
Wayne didn’t want anything to do with his past, but the head of MI6 was from a Tulip Family, holding a significant position in the military. He wanted to ask the old scum for his opinion.
“You can help. You have nothing to lose.” As soon as a foreign nation came up, Auston suddenly became patriotic. “Windsor’s friendship with Franc has been ongoing for a century. Our policies on foreign affairs have always followed the principle of offshore balancing[1]. Franc is too strong, and her strength does us no good. Only a bedridden Franc is worth our friendship.”
You won’t think that way when the sick nation raises her hands in surrender!
Wayne rolled his eyes. “Fine. I’ll help MI6 transmit false information. Please do me a favor and have MI6 pay me the rest of my salary and fire me. From now on, I’ll work for them as a contractor, doing my best for Windsor and Her Majesty out of the goodness of my heart.”
Auston snorted, saying in mockery, “Your superstar partner is quite beautiful. Can you really give her up?”
“It’s fine. I have even more beautiful ones now,” Wayne said honestly, stroking his chin.
Speaking of beautiful women, the High Reverend of the Church of Moonlight was so stunning that anyone would be wowed by her beauty. She was flawless in both appearance and figure, even more so after transforming into an elf. He had never met a more beautiful woman.
Auston’s face darkened. “Veronica went to Fawst with you.”
“Yeah.”
“Don’t let her get too involved next time.”
“I’ll let her be appropriately involved so that she sees only parts of the reality.”
Auston wasn’t satisfied with the answer. With a frown, he opened his mouth to say something, but only let out a soft sigh in the end.
That evening, Wayne stayed to enjoy a banquet thrown to celebrate a job well done. After dinner, Veronica whispered something to Silvia, then she stood by the window, beckoning Wayne over.
“There,” She pointed at the black night sky and declared confidently, “A bastard is about to fly.”
What an unfilial daughter you are. Lovely.
Wayne looked out of the window with a smile, fully anticipating the show. It was nice that someone else would be flying tonight instead of him.
Ten minutes passed without anything happening.
“How?” Veronica was shocked. She had told her mother that Scumbag Sr. and Megan were sleeping together. Why hadn’t she defenestrated him? What happened to her mother?
“Just accept it. Secretary is an important position.” Wayne patted Veronica on the shoulder. “Auston is right. The head of a household can’t do without a secretary. It’s not too late for you to learn now. You just have to make Mona obedient to you with some tricks.”
“Only in your dream!” Veins popped up on Veronica’s forehead. She sent Wayne flying out of the window. She had to, since Silvia had failed to do the same.
Bam!
A human cannonball put on a show.
At another window, Auston clapped and laughed, while Megan stood behind him with a look of speechlessness. What a terrible family! If she hadn’t been young and naive back then, tricked into returning by the scheming couple, she wouldn’t have stayed here.
“Megan, where’s Monica?”
“Here. Young Master asked me to bring her over, but he hasn’t gotten to pet her.”
“Let her go and catch her again for me.”
...What a hassle!
