Myth: The Ruler of Spirituality-Chapter 1201 - 516: Confrontation
Long ago, around the beginning of this era.
At that time, in the Spirit Realm, Samsara had just taken shape, and Laine displayed the power of Great Divine Power in the material world for the first time, feeling that power which surpassed all.
But it was also at that moment, when he experienced this level personally, that he suddenly realized, including himself and most of the Primordial Gods, they are not truly complete.
In any case, in the face of the vast rules and worlds, an individual’s personality always seems insignificant.
Except for existences like Tartarus who are naturally whole, or like the later Mother Tree born within a miracle.

Normal beings cannot let their consciousness wander in the Sea of Origin, to merge with the root of the world.
This realm, in the later ages of the East, was called ’Union with the Dao’, while in the West it was referred to as ’Union with the One’.
Although the names differ, the meanings behind them are very similar.
Because they both describe the unification of an individual’s will with some kind of ultimate existence, achieving a transcendental qualitative change.
But in combining the experiences of this world, in Laine’s view, it is more akin to assimilation, like the assimilation between Chaos and Hemenu.
Making one encompass the other, allowing one to integrate into the other, ultimately unifying the two into one single existence.
And in this whole process, there will be no absolute vanquished or failures, even as Egypt was destroyed, the traces left behind are destined to become an indelible part of Chaos, so is the Great Divine Power.
For any great being, even without preparation, if they recklessly unify their intention with the Source Power, their existence will not completely disappear.
The traces left by them will still remain in the related domains, subsequently influencing the operation of the world.
But to an independent being, such a legacy is hardly different from death.
Hence, in conclusion, either have the Source Power assimilate one’s consciousness, transforming into a grand collective will, like Tartarus; or reverse it, and have one’s will assimilate every piece of Source Power, using oneself as the core, redefining the world’s related concepts.
Besides this, there is almost no third way to become a flawlessly complete Great Divine Power.
Thus, at the dawn of the era, Laine conceived the thought of exploring the path of Ascension.
From the bottom to the top, supplementing the understanding of authority from a mortal’s perspective, rather than the innate deity’s ’knowing the what but not the why’, this was the thought he had then.
At that time, in Laine’s view, this should be a quite feasible path.
He was very likely to successfully use it to complete his advancement, filling the last defect as a Great Divine Power.
But up to this day, as one extraordinarily talented human after another reaches the checkpoint before Ascension, Laine, although more and more confirmed in his past thoughts.
But when the matter truly fell upon himself, he had to regretfully make adjustments.
Because just like his current state, no matter how powerful Laine’s strength, he cannot transform himself into a true mortal. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
The strength of the same level is hard to completely sever the ties of the same level.
Moreover, Laine’s essence is even higher than the power he guides, making it even more impossible.
Upon realizing this, although there was no evidence, Laine couldn’t help but make an association.
Perhaps long ago, once upon the day he awakened from the chaotic Chaos, the reason he was deprived of almost all power, yet still retained at least the first level of Divine Power Level, was not due to the world’s powerlessness.
Actually, it could have gone further, but driven by some good instinct, it preferred Laine to directly descend upon this world in the identity of a True God... and thus until today.
"Hmm... who knows?"
"About the matters of that time, no one knows the specifics, even I can only make some guesses."
"But regardless of what the truth is, coming to this world as a god was ultimately more beneficial than harmful to me; otherwise, there wouldn’t be the me of today."
"And for the various consequences brought about by this, I should accept them gladly."
The thought flashes across the mind, and under the influence of the concentrating black water, waves of miscellaneous thoughts rise, soon to be erased by Laine.
Feeling a stir in his mind and spirit, his intention began to submerge inward, actively sensing the connection with another self.
This process is not easy, for the distance between them remains vast.
Even though a certain divine anomaly has manifest in him, this doesn’t mean he can overlook this separation.
And so, not knowing how much time had passed... at a certain moment, with a subtle expression change, Laine seemed to have found some opportunity.
He grasped that negligible connection, tracing it back to the fundamentals of the various divine anomalies manifest in him.
However, he did not take this opportunity to do anything, nor did he attempt to transfer the Poison of Destiny to his other half.
Laine merely tugged at that connection and then opened up his mind.
Time seemed to stand still for a moment, an impending storm of oppression invaded his heart... In that instant, along an invisible connection, the vaguely conveyed power seemed to diminish, and the original tranquility was instantly shattered.
It was like mountains crashing down and a tsunami, or like the earth shaking and the sky collapsing.
In an instant, countless pieces of information surged into Laine’s mind.
Destruction, dissolution, ruin, ultimate demise... numerous insights, countless rules, they seemed infinite and overwhelming, yet more of it were scenes of complete insignificance.
In these scenes, Laine saw much, yet it also seemed as though he saw nothing at all.
Like a formula, it can evolve into thousands of problems, endless equations, but ultimately, its true value only lies in the formula itself.
Feeling this information that disregarded space and time, appearing out of nowhere in his mind, Laine felt as if he was the Hyperion of old.
The only difference was that the information he faced at this moment was far less, nowhere near as vast as the Origin that a deity of Great Divine Power might possess.
In contrast, Laine’s own ability to resist was also stronger, he could even be certain that merely by his will alone, he would not be significantly affected by this level of impact.
"But this is meaningless."
"According to some information passed on from the incarnation of malice, God-King Zeus also possesses an extremely strong will, even enough to withstand the erosion of True God Level Origin Power."
"Yet this is of no real use, after all, the gap between a True God and Great Divine Power is almost universally known."
A thought flashed by, and Laine was very clear.
In his view, the most perfect state of Great Divine Power is not to resist it or be influenced by it. Rather, it is to integrate with this endless information, yet remain distinct.
Just like beneath the surface consciousness of a mortal lies the true vastness of the subconscious. It controls the most minute changes of the body, senses the feedback from every organ, every nerve transfer, yet it does not affect the existence of the main consciousness at all.
Or like a controllable ’super memory’, allowing one to remember, when needed, a rainy night ten years ago, how many raindrops were seen unintentionally. Yet when it is not needed, it can be cast aside, free from any interference or disturbance.
An excellent Water Controller should learn to clear the water veins, allow the world’s water to circulate, letting the excess flow to the lacking, the prosperous to irrigate the barren, rather than building high dikes trying to block the surging tides.
However, at this moment, Laine could not do what Yu the Great did.
He could first bring out his own ’earth’, attempting to intercept this overwhelming calamity.
Thus, as his thoughts turned, Laine guided the chaotic beliefs in his mind.
Apart from the information that just surged into his mind, there was also the destiny he had borne in the past period.
Yet under his guidance, the black liquid remained still. The Poison of Destiny was clearly uncontrollable, only the memories accompanying it swirling and evolving under Laine’s provocation.
Whoosh...
As if the sound of invisible water rang out, the erosion of the Origin was inherently unaffected by external forces.
Even the seemingly omnipotent Power of Faith could only produce some superficial balance. Once the quantity of the Origin grew vast enough, it could no longer isolate this connection.
Theoretically, to counteract the influence it brings, only something belonging to the soul itself can achieve it.
However, amidst the illusory water sounds, these ’experiences’ Laine invested, they inherently belonged to ’him’.
By bearing the destiny of others, he also bore their past existence.
Since he bore the past existence, all of it naturally became part of Laine.
"Origin Power will erode the ’character’ of a soul, this cannot be changed."
"And I can’t sublimate the human nature itself to make it fearless of the Origin’s influence... then by another approach, I can only enlarge the capacity of the character."
"In the past, I didn’t consider this method viable because the Origin of the world will continue to grow, the power of the deities will keep increasing, but a soul’s will cannot achieve this."
"But now I see, that just because a soul’s will cannot achieve this, doesn’t mean that the will of countless souls cannot... the growth of Source Power has no limit, the past of souls can also have no limit... the only concern, is just the ’Poison of Destiny’."
Silently observing this change in the Heart Lake, Laine watched as those pasts and memories that could potentially influence him mingle with the infinite cycle, assimilating into a whole, defending himself against their influence.
In a sense, his character was being eroded by the power of the Origin.
But evidently, if the erosion of Source Power is merely limited to the past Laine accepted from others, then no matter how much erosion there is, it cannot affect him in the slightest.
Moreover, this method cannot be replicated, because throughout the world, few deities have the ability to bear the destiny of others.
This method is also unsustainable because the voluntarily accepted ’Poison of Destiny’ can indeed bring burden to Laine.
Even he cannot bear it endlessly.
However, be that as it may, at least for now, this is indeed a very good method.
As long as the destiny of the souls Laine bears is ample, then the Origin he can endure is sufficiently strong.
Until the two ultimately reach some limit... or he completely resolves this issue.
