Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory-Chapter 86: Global Battlefield
Chapter 86: Global Battlefield
And nothing showcased true power better than Tier 11 units.
In this day and age, a Tier 11 unit was basically the equivalent of having nuclear weapons back in the day!
Because of this, any region that managed to create and successfully possess a Tier 11 unit would instantly catapult itself into the ranks of global superpowers, regardless of anything else.
Currently, only Europe and the Middle East had managed to achieve this status.
Naturally, along with this came intangible perks like prestige, influence, and deterrence.
For ordinary players, this was fantastic news!
But for certain people, it was impossible to feel happy about it...
On the very night Sterling Group announced its bankruptcy and dissolution, an extremely high-level meeting was quietly held in Dunmire, the capital city of the Unicorn Duchy.
Inside the meeting room stood a long black table, with around twenty seats arranged on either side.
Clearly, only a select few were qualified to attend this meeting. Even so, two-thirds of the seats were already occupied.
Among them sat Scarlet Queen and Caesar!
In addition, the leaders of North America’s top ten guilds, representatives from major military factions, and government officials were all present.
"Is everyone here yet?"
A deep, authoritative voice broke the silence, pulling everyone’s wandering thoughts back to reality.
Everyone turned toward the speaker—a white-haired elderly man with a commanding presence. He was the representative of the military and government, a true heavyweight in North America, someone who stood at the very top.
He was also the one responsible for coordinating and communicating with the top ten guilds.
"General, Xavian Serpentis from Holy Concord hasn’t arrived yet..." a dignified middle-aged man standing beside the elderly general said quietly, lowering his head slightly.
"Xavian Serpentis..." The old general frowned slightly.
"No need to wait for him," Caesar suddenly spoke up, his expression indifferent. "He’s completely obsessed with that Class-A quest right now. Forget about a meeting—even if the sky fell, he probably wouldn’t show up."
"Agreed. General Grant, let’s just start," Solomon Ace, the leader of Holy Dominion, nodded in agreement.
"Very well..." General Grant nodded slowly, then turned his gaze toward Scarlet Queen, who had remained silent all this time. "Scarlet, you know exactly why we’re here today. Don’t keep quiet any longer. Tell us clearly—what exactly is going on? Who are we dealing with?"
Swish! Swish! Swish!
As soon as he spoke, every pair of eyes in the room immediately turned toward Scarlet Queen.
Scarlet Queen sighed softly, meeting their gazes before speaking slowly, "Let me start by clarifying two things. First, the Tier 11 Unicorn unit is real—I saw it with my own eyes. Second, if I’m not mistaken, that person has mastered Tier 3 Magic!"
"Tier 3 Magic?!"
"That’s impossible!"
...
The moment Scarlet Queen finished speaking, everyone’s eyes widened in shock, their faces turning pale with disbelief!
"Scarlet, do you even realize what you’re saying? Tier 3 Magic? Even the Europeans haven’t managed that yet... Are you sure you didn’t see it wrong?" A middle-aged man in mage robes asked, his expression grim.
This man was Theron Voss, leader of Arcane Dominion, ranked third among the top ten guilds, and widely recognized as North America’s strongest mage.
Even he hadn’t mastered Tier 3 Magic yet, so hearing Scarlet Queen’s claim was understandably hard for him to swallow. Of course, it wasn’t just him—everyone in the room wore expressions of shock and disbelief, their faces shifting uneasily.
They all knew exactly what Tier 3 Magic meant.
In some ways, Tier 3 Magic was even more valuable than a Tier 11 unit! No wonder they were losing their composure.
Scarlet Queen glanced coldly at Theron Voss and asked calmly, "Theron, you know Whitestone, right?"
Theron Voss paused for a moment, then nodded slowly. "Of course. Why isn’t he here?"
"Could you take him down instantly with a single spell, even if you went all-out?" Scarlet Queen asked quietly.
"Impossible..." Theron instinctively shook his head, then suddenly froze, his pupils shrinking as realization dawned on him. He stared at Scarlet Queen in shock. "Wait, are you saying—?"
"Exactly." Scarlet Queen nodded slowly, her voice calm and steady. "I saw it myself. He took Whitestone down instantly, with just one spell."
The room fell into absolute silence.
No one said a word.
After a long pause, Caesar frowned deeply and muttered, "Who the hell is this guy? And what exactly is this Draconic Pact guild?"
"According to our investigation," a government representative spoke up at this moment, "the player known as Valkarion is actually a college student named Ethan Parker. He also has a younger sister."
Everyone’s expressions shifted slightly as they turned toward the government representative.
"What are you getting at?" Caesar asked, narrowing his eyes.
"I’m thinking, maybe we could handle this from the real-world side," the representative adjusted his glasses calmly. "They’re just two students, after all. How tough could they possibly be? If we take him down in real life, he’ll have nowhere left to run."
However, no one responded to him.
In fact, everyone was staring at him as if he were a complete idiot.
"Heh heh..."
After a long silence, Rising Empire’s guild leader—Conqueror Xavier chuckled softly, turning his gaze toward the expressionless General Grant. "General Grant, since when did you start keeping brainless idiots like this around you? How about this—I give him my location, and he can come take me down too while he’s at it?"
"Guild Leader Xavier, that’s not what I meant..." The government representative’s face turned pale, quickly trying to explain himself.
"Shut up!" General Grant snapped harshly, silencing everyone instantly.
The government representative went deathly pale, not daring to utter another word. General Grant then spoke coldly, "Jason, go back first. Also, take a month off to reflect on your stupidity. Find some time soon."
"General Grant, I—I..." Jason’s expression twisted in panic, but he didn’t dare argue further. With a pale face, he quietly left the meeting room.
General Grant stood up, bowing respectfully toward the leaders of the ten major guilds. "I’m truly sorry. I never imagined he’d be this stupid..."
These guild leaders were all top-tier figures in the gaming world. Trying to threaten them with real-world politics was practically suicide!
Not to mention, the power from the "Glory Lords X" world could actually manifest itself into reality!
Even if you found their real-world location, what could you possibly do?
Could you even win?
The military and government had worked painstakingly to maintain the delicate balance between the two worlds.
If that balance broke, they’d be the ones suffering the most!
"Heh..."
Mountain’s Shrine guild leader—Eternal Vance chuckled lightly, speaking calmly, "General Grant, I trust you personally, but let me remind you of something. If someone can casually deploy Tier 11 units, what exactly do you think you’ll accomplish by confronting them? Suicide? Besides, magic can directly manifest into reality... You haven’t forgotten that, have you?"
As soon as he said this, not only General Grant but everyone else present turned pale, the atmosphere suddenly becoming tense and heavy.
Because they’d just remembered—
Magic didn’t require any special conditions or quests to manifest in reality.
It simply came along with the power of the in-game hero characters. In other words, someone capable of wielding Tier 3 Magic in the real world—what kind of terrifying existence was that?!
General Grant remained silent for a long moment, finally shaking his head. "I’m sorry..."
Someone who could wield Tier 3 Magic in reality was far scarier than a walking RPG launcher.
After all, RPG launchers had limited ammunition.
But magic? It was endless, reusable, and devastating!
"Enough of this."
Overlord Caesar shook his head, eyes glinting sharply. "Since things have come to this, I don’t think I need to spell out how we should handle it. They’ve stayed hidden for so long, never revealing themselves openly. Clearly, they have no interest in conquering the world. For us, that’s actually good news."
Pausing briefly, Caesar turned toward the representative of Holy Concord guild, speaking calmly but firmly, "Your Holy Concord guild’s subsidiaries—Sinclair Group and Inferno Dragons guild—eliminate them as soon as possible. I assume you understand why."
"I—I understand!" The Holy Concord representative trembled, nodding immediately.
"And one more thing..." Overlord Caesar’s gaze shifted meaningfully toward General Grant. "General Grant, after this incident, Europe and the Middle East definitely won’t sit still. Everyone should prepare themselves. The Global Battlefield is probably closer than we think!"
Global Battlefield!
Everyone’s eyes sharpened instantly, their expressions turning deadly serious.
Global Battlefield—the ultimate showdown between nations, a universally accepted way for major powers to redistribute resources. Victory meant gaining more resources, both in-game and in the real world!
So far, the Global Battlefield had been held six times.
The first two times went pretty well, bringing in significant gains. But starting from the third Global Battlefield, North America’s performance had steadily declined, becoming worse each time, spiraling into a vicious cycle.
"Do you think there’s any chance we could bring the Draconic Pact into our side for this Global Battlefield?" General Grant asked suddenly.
"General Grant, what exactly do you have in mind?" Scarlet Queen asked cautiously.
"I’m thinking of forming a temporary alliance. I’m even willing to step back and let someone from Draconic Pact take the lead!" General Grant said through gritted teeth.
"Step back?"
Everyone’s eyes widened in surprise.
Caesar couldn’t help but sigh in admiration. "As expected of General Grant—you’re bold enough to make tough calls."
After a brief pause, Caesar turned toward Scarlet Queen. "In that case, let’s give it a shot. Scarlet, Ethan’s sister Emily is still part of your Scarlet Legion guild, right? Could you ask her to help us reach out? If they’re open to it, we can all sit down and talk."
"I’ll give it a try..." Scarlet Queen nodded thoughtfully.
"Good. Then let’s wrap up here for now."
...
Meanwhile, Ethan and Cicero had just returned to Emerald Castle.
"My Lord!"
"Welcome back, my honored Master, Prince Cicero!"
As soon as they landed at Emerald Castle, Seraphina and Elynn hurried forward, greeting them excitedly.
"Seraphina, what’s the situation with the Hell Gate?" Ethan didn’t waste any time, immediately getting to the point.
"A while ago, I noticed some strange activity at the Hell Gate in the Doom Mountains, so I went to check it out. Turns out, the teleportation magic surrounding the Hell Gate had already started activating!"
Seraphina paused, then proudly continued, "A huge wave of Inferno faction troops emerged from the Hell Gate—but don’t worry, I wiped them all out!"
"Yeah, yeah, we know you’re amazing," Ethan chuckled, affectionately ruffling Seraphina’s hair. "But has the teleportation stopped yet?"
