Chapter 61: Begin the assault!

Here’s the simplest way to put it.

Imagine trying to take down a Titan with a bunch of peasants.

That’s the kind of power gap we’re dealing with here!

Even if every player in the world joined forces, they wouldn’t even leave a scratch, let alone take them down.

A completely one-sided massacre.

This isn’t just an advantage—it’s absolute dominance!

And it’s the same across the board—whether we’re talking about high-tier units, hero levels, or top-tier heroes.

No high-tier heroes.

No high-tier units.

No matter how many low-tier units or low-level heroes you throw at them, they’re nothing but cannon fodder.

Completely meaningless!

A numbers strategy?

Sorry, but in Glory Lords X, that concept doesn’t even exist...

And yet, even with all that said, the so-called invincible behemoth in the eyes of global players—the Unicorn Duchy—is just an ordinary nation in the main world of Glory Lords X.

It’s merely one of the eight duchies that splintered off from the once-mighty Holy Griffon Empire at its peak.

And in this main world of Glory Lords X, there are at least five other nations that can rival the Holy Griffon Empire in its prime!

But even then, the main world of Glory Lords X is nothing more than a battleground where the major planar factions compete for dominance!

The real powerhouses,

The true top-tier elites,

They’re all holed up in the great faction realms!

And those so-called elites, those true apex beings— ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

They are the Mythics!

That’s why, even though Seraphina and Cicero have been rated as Crimson Ultimate Heroes with a system evaluation of "C-rank," they might not qualify as Mythics just yet...

But at the very least, they’re demigods!

And a Crimson Ultimate Hero at the demigod level—

Forget just the Unicorn Duchy,

Even across the entire main world and primary plane, they’re incredibly rare.

A once-in-a-generation existence!

So, in the grand scheme of things, no matter how small Seraphina’s progress may seem, it’s a massive leap forward!

A kind of growth that can’t be measured in gold, resources, or low-tier units.

Because those things are meaningless! They’re not even on the same level!

As for an 11-Tier Unicorn compared to a 13-Tier Green Dragon Hero?

Yeah, no doubt about it—it’s a low-tier unit.

Thinking about that, Ethan couldn’t help but get excited.

He ruffled Seraphina’s hair a little, grinning as he said,

"Give it your best shot today! Whether we walk away with a massive haul, whether we rise by crushing our enemy’s fortress—it all depends on you!"

"Seraphina, you got this!"

"Roar! Roar! Roar...!"

Seraphina let out an excited battle cry, fired up and ready to go!

At the same time, Seraphina and Cicero soared through the sky, cutting through the air as they descended before Ethan.

"Woo woo!"

Cicero landed beside Ethan, rubbing against him affectionately.

"Master!"

"Your Highness, Seraphina!"

Elynn, as always, greeted them with a respectful bow, composed and dignified.

"Elynn, is everything ready?" Ethan asked.

"Yes, Master! Everything is fully prepared!"

Elynn nodded and began listing their forces with practiced ease.

"Thirty-five 6-Tier Grand Elves, five 6-Tier Vestals, five 7-Tier Fire Elementals, ten 7-Tier Pegasus Knights, twenty-seven 8-Tier Silver Pegasus Knights, six 9-Tier Moon Does, three 11-Tier Unicorns, and various low-tier units. And, of course, Their Highnesses, Seraphina and Cicero!"

Taking a deep breath, Elynn looked at Ethan and declared,

"Master, this is the full military strength of Emerald Castle! Awaiting your command!"

Ethan gazed at Elynn’s serious expression and spoke slowly,

"Elynn, you’ll be leading this battle again. Do you have confidence?"

Elynn hesitated for just a moment before clenching her teeth and responding firmly,

"Yes!"

"For glory! For Emerald Castle! For you, Master! I won’t let you down..."

"Good!" Ethan nodded decisively, then waved his hand.

"March!"

At his command, the forces of Emerald Castle surged forward, advancing toward the Suffocating Swamp Forest!

Before long, they arrived at a dark, oppressive swamp forest, its environment harsh and its lighting dim and eerie.

Cicero took the lead, guiding the way.

Moments later, Ethan found himself staring at a massive, towering swamp fortress—

Blackmire Castle!

Ding!

Player Valkarion has discovered the swamp fortress—Blackmire Castle!

Before Ethan could even react, chaos erupted from within Blackmire Castle!

"Enemy attack! Enemy attack! Enemy attack!!"

"Hey, Murdock! Where the hell are you? Get out here! Damn it, damn it, damn it! That damn green pest actually brought an army to our doorstep! What do we do now?! Our 12-Tier Wyvern Monarch still needs half a day before it can be recruited!"

"Oh, Garrick, are you an idiot?! That’s not some damn green pest! That’s a Green Dragon! A 13-Tier Legendary Unit! No—wait, TWO Green Dragons! And three 11-Tier Unicorns! We’re screwed. We’re so dead."

"Murdock, you’re the idiot! Blackmire Castle is under the rule of the great Lord Hava! We are invincible! They’re just young dragons! We haven’t lost yet! If we can hold out for half a day, we can recruit the 12-Tier Wyvern Monarch! Then we’ll definitely win! We have to!"

"Garrick, you’re the idiot!"

"No, you’re the idiot, Murdock!"

...

The heated argument echoing from inside the fortress left Ethan utterly speechless.

He stood there, dumbfounded.

Seriously?

NPC heroes could be this ridiculous?

This was way too out of character!

...

"But still, the battle has to go on..." Ethan muttered under his breath, his eyes flickering as he stared at the massive army gathering atop the walls of Blackmire Castle.

"Half a day... A 12-Tier Wyvern Monarch, plus all the recruitment gold and various resources they’ve stockpiled—are these all extra mission rewards? If that’s the case, then this reward... it’s as good as mine!"

The NPC heroes’ conversation had been a bit ridiculous, even nonsensical at times, but if you listened carefully, there were some key details hidden in their words.

For example—half a day, a 12-Tier Wyvern Monarch, not yet refreshed, not yet recruited...

In other words, if he could take Blackmire Castle before the Wyvern Monarch’s recruitment refresh, wouldn’t everything inside become his? Wouldn’t it all belong to Ethan?!

A 12-Tier Wyvern Monarch!

That was an even stronger and more terrifying unit than an 11-Tier Unicorn!

Ethan was practically drooling at the thought.

"Attack!"

No hesitation—once the idea formed, Ethan immediately selected the siege option for Blackmire Castle!

In an instant, the enemy’s troop composition and numbers, along with the details of those two ridiculous NPC heroes, were displayed clearly before him.

"They’ve got this many high-Tier units?" Ethan’s expression turned serious.

Anything below 6-Tier—like the Werewolf Warriors, Gnoll Marauders, and Lizard Warriors—he could completely ignore. But Elite Units, Champion Units, and even Royal Units above 6-Tier? Those were a different story. He couldn’t afford to be careless.

Especially those 9-Tier Dark Raiders and 10-Tier Grim Raiders...

If his guess was right, they were probably hidden special units, just like the Vestal and Moon Doe. If that was the case, their threat level would definitely surpass the standard 9-Tier Gorgons and 10-Tier Mighty Gorgons, second only to the 11-Tier Wyverns!

And if you factored in the attack and defense buffs from the two enemy NPC heroes...

"Yeah... No doubt about it. This S-Tier storyline mission is gonna be a brutal fight!"

Ethan muttered to himself, then his gaze sharpened with determination. "But even so—victory is ours!"

"Elynn!"

"Here!"

"Begin the assault!"

"Understood!" Elynn nodded firmly, took a deep breath, then quickly turned to Seraphina and Cicero. "Your Highnesses, I need you to take out the enemy’s arrow towers immediately!"

Arrow towers—a must-have structure for any Tier-1 fortress—boasted devastating ranged attacks, making them the natural enemy of fragile support, ranged, and logistics units.

Losing even a single 6-Tier Vestal or 9-Tier Moon Doe would be a huge waste.

This alone showed just how sharp Elynn’s battlefield awareness was—her command instincts were exceptional.

Without waiting for Seraphina and Cicero to respond, Elynn continued issuing orders at lightning speed.

"Grand Elf archers, stay hidden and coordinate with Their Highnesses to eliminate the enemy’s ranged units—focus on maximizing kills!"

"Silver Pegasus Knights, hold your ground and block all incoming ranged attacks! Do not let them hit our backline!"

"Moon Doe units, use ’Blessing of Luna’ at full power—focus it all on a single 11-Tier Unicorn! Do NOT spread it out!"

"Unicorns, attack the fortress walls with everything you’ve got! Break through as fast as possible—but don’t be reckless! If you sense danger, fall back immediately!"

"All other units, hold position and prioritize survival. Await further orders!"

"Once the fortress walls are breached—or if the enemy makes a move—we’ll adjust the plan accordingly!"

With that, Elynn drew her Pegasus blade, raised it high toward the sky, and shouted:

"For the glory of Emerald Castle— CHARGE!"

BOOM! BOOM!

The moment her words fell, two massive pillars of venomous green energy—Venomous Dragon Breath—erupted from Seraphina and Cicero’s mouths, tearing through the air as they blasted straight toward Blackmire Castle’s arrow towers!

BANG! BANG!

Like two exploding emerald fireworks, the sheer destructive force of the dual Venomous Dragon Breaths detonated in the sky above Blackmire Castle!

The fortress’s essential defensive structures—its arrow towers—

...didn’t even survive a single blast.

They shattered on impact, crumbling into ruins.

"Perfect!" Ethan exclaimed, his excitement evident.

At the same time, Elynn’s calm and precise voice rang out once more, cutting through the battlefield.

"Prince Cicero, the last arrow tower is yours. Princess Seraphina, focus on the enemy’s ranged units on the eastern wall— the 4-Tier Lizard Warriors! Take them out as fast as possible!"

"Grand Elf archers, ready your bows! Target the enemy’s 5-Tier Serpent Flies— concentrate fire and eliminate them! Attack!"
