Mysterious Assistant of the Washed-Up Queen-Chapter 531 - 340: New Book Confirmed, Difficulties in Later Stages_3
"Shooting is indeed tough. Often after a day of filming, actors are covered with wounds, with several layers of skin rubbed off."
"But these young people, not one of them made a peep. They all gritted their teeth and persevered, regardless of gender."
"Later on, I even asked the male lead why he didn’t say anything. You know what he said? He said that with the female lead not complaining, he, a big guy, felt he had no right to grumble. HAHAHA!"
Upon hearing this, Chu Tian also breathed a sigh of relief. At the same time, he felt a twinge of pity for her. The little girl was indeed a bit mischievous, but her effort was genuine. Whether it was this shoot or the previous injury from horseback riding, she really didn’t seem like someone who couldn’t handle hardship. Moreover, Xu Ruyan wasn’t only shooting here; she had another movie on the side, so it really wasn’t easy for her to keep up. As for Cao Zheng, even though he was laughing happily now, Chu Tian could understand just how immense the pressure on him was.
Setting aside these miscellaneous thoughts, he focused and began to watch carefully.
After he went through a portion of the material, night had fallen in the blink of an eye, and he hadn’t noticed the passage of time at all.
"Okay, let’s leave it at this for now. Overall, there’s no big issue. Just like you said before, your thinking isn’t quite liberated yet; you haven’t grasped the essence of Immortal World."
"But these later scenes you shot seem to have captured something. They are starting to have that flavor."
After all, there was a storyboard. While it might not have been perfectly intuitive, it was quite clear. With a few attempts, capturing that point wouldn’t be difficult.
Cao Zheng wasn’t particularly clever, but he wasn’t stupid either. Moreover, he wasn’t lacking in experience compared to others, so naturally, he wouldn’t find it hard to make the necessary adjustments.
"The subsequent shots are fine. I’ve also looked at the earlier ones. All those ground shots, treat them as scrap. Just keep the last few. They’re barely acceptable but will have to do."
"The later ones are not bad; no major issues."
Upon receiving Chu Tian’s approval, Cao Zheng finally breathed a sigh of relief. He had been struggling to eat or sleep well during this period.
During the day, he had to shoot, getting up early to check the location, the weather, the light, and the scenery, searching for the right shot.
Filming all day was tiring enough. After returning to the hotel and finishing dinner, when everyone else was resting, he still had to come here to review the footage.
First, he had to watch everything shot during the day. He would mark the problematic ones for a reshoot the next day. If there were any shots he was unsure about, he’d schedule them for additional shooting. If new ideas came up, he had to incorporate those as well.
He also had to pull the producer in to negotiate shooting times. For any last-minute changes to the shooting plan, he had to coordinate everywhere, often making the producer so angry they would curse. Still, he kept a smile on his face.
There was no helping it. Nobody’s plans are created in one day. A shooting schedule, from the first day, is usually laid out for at least half a month in advance.
A sudden addition of work meant the previous schedule became useless—not just useless, it required immediate revision.
As a result, a single word from him meant the producer had to rework the entire schedule. This involved reprinting it, replacing the version in the lobby downstairs, and re-notifying all departments with the new plans.
Once or twice was fine, but who could stand changes every day?
The changes in timing didn’t just affect the shooting; they affected a whole host of things, including budgeting, external liaisons, and so on. With the producer swamped with work because of these changes, how could they maintain a pleasant demeanor? Director or not, even if you were God, it wouldn’t matter. If scolding was warranted, scolding would happen. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Just thinking back on this scene gave Cao Zheng a bit of a fright. Chu Tian felt like laughing but held it back. The poor guy was already having a hard time; it was better not to laugh.
"So, for the post-production side..."
"As for post-production... do you have good options?"
"There are a few, but I’m not sure if they’ll work."
"Here’s what you’ll do: don’t worry about whether it’ll work or not for now. Just set aside some of the material and send it over to ask around, see who can take it on."
With Chu Tian’s words, Cao Zheng obviously felt more confident and hurriedly agreed.
