While transferring the recording, Liang Chen dialed an IT personnel from his company and had them send over a voice changing software overnight.

After receiving the software, he opened up the archived meeting recordings on his computer, snipped out Shen Liangnian’s voice, and analyzed the tone and frequency in the voice changer software.

Then, he adjusted the original recording to match Shen Liangnian’s voice and saved it as a new file before sending it back to his phone.

Liang Chen opened the file on his phone and slowly listened to it. Satisfied that there were no issues, he closed his laptop and returned to the hospital room.

The ward was eerily quiet. Liang Chen placed his laptop on the couch, walked to Jing Haohao’s bed with his phone, and sat down on a chair.

He stared at Jing Haohao for a while, then pulled out his phone, opened the recording, and held it to Jing’s ear.

“Haohao… it’s Liangnian, I’ve come to see you…”

In the quiet hospital room, Liang Chen’s imitation of Shen Liangnian’s voice filled the air.
