Chapter 798 -799 Marriage (End 1)_1
Liang Chen’s mother was genuinely terrified by her son’s actions. She meticulously instructed others to help Liang Chen onto the bed. She consoled him with a choking voice, like pacifying a child, eventually covering him with a blanket and feeding him porridge.
Tired of causing such a commotion, seeing his own mother terrified by his actions made Liang Chen feel a hint of guilt at the bottom of his heart. Thus, he obediently opened his mouth and drank the porridge.
After Liang Chen finished eating, his mother felt mildly relieved. She patted his body comfortingly through the blanket, coaxing him to sleep.
Having slept for so long, Liang Chen didn’t feel the slightest bit tired. But for the sake of not worrying his mother, he closed his eyes, pretending to be asleep.
As he lay with his eyes closed for an extended period of time, he did start to feel somewhat tired. Within his drowsiness, Liang Chen could feel his mother still tightly gripping his hand.
It wasn’t until the afternoon that Liang Chen woke up.

During his unconsciousness, the Liang family stayed in the hospital. Now seeing him calmer, everyone must have left. Only his mother remained, leaning over the side of the bed, clutching his hand, sleeping heavily.
Stifling any noise, Liang Chen got out from under the blankets and carefully lifted his mother to lay her on the bed. He covered her lovingly with a blanket, then grabbed his phone and quickly went to the restroom.
Liang Chen’s rebellion at home was something he naturally didn’t want Jing Haohao to know or worry about.
Prior to taking sleeping pills, he had set his incoming calls to forward to Miss Su’s phone, instructing Miss Su to only answer Jing Haohao’s calls.
So, as soon as he entered the restroom, Liang Chen immediately took out his phone and called Miss Su, hastily asking before she had a chance to speak, “Has Haohao contacted me these past two days?”
“Miss Jing called you last night. I followed your instructions, telling her that you were in a meeting and would probably be busy until noon today. When you have time, you would call her back,”
Liang Chen quickly ended the call, turned off call forwarding and then returned Jing Haohao’s call.
Jing Haohao quickly answered the phone. Unaware of the real situation, she seemed to be helping a customer buy flowers. She politely said, “Welcome back next time,” before addressing the person on the other end of the phone with several chirpy calls, “Liang Chen, are you done with your work?”
“Yes.” Liang Chen held his phone, suppressing his joy of having accomplished his mission, striving to keep his tone casual: “Did you miss me?”
The Jing Haohao on the other end of the phone paused for a second before giving a faint “Yes.”
Liang Chen couldn’t contain his smirk. Standing in front of the restroom mirror, seeing that his stubble had grown in, he picked up a disposable razor blade provided by the hospital, preparing to shave his beard.
Jing Haohao was on the other end of the phone, chattering about the interesting events that happened in her flower shop over the last day and night in his absence.
While Liang Chen listened, he rinsed off the blade, and then heard his mother’s voice from outside.
He had told his mother that Jing Haohao refused to marry him. If she found out now that he was speaking sweetly to Jing Haohao, wouldn’t everything fall apart?
Liang Chen whispered into the phone: “Haohao, I’ve got something to handle now, I’ll call you later.”
He quickly ended the call.
Just as he put his phone in his pocket, Liang Chen’s mother barged into the restroom.
