My Wife Longs for Divorce Every Day-Chapter 440 - : 440, you look quite like my sister.
Chapter 440: 440, you look quite like my sister.
When they returned to the reading room, Su Wanwan had just sat down when she heard Mo Weiyi say, “Ling Zhizhou, I want to talk to you, can you come out for a moment?”
“Sure.” Ling Zhizhou stood up with a smile, eagerly following Mo Weiyi out.
Poor kid, he might come back crying, thought Su Wanwan silently to herself.
**
Once outside, Mo Weiyi came straight to the point, “Ling Zhizhou, do you know I’m married?”
Ling Zhizhou’s face noticeably stiffened, his voice hesitant, “You…are married?”
Oh no, thought Mo Weiyi.
He really didn’t know she was married?
Wasn’t she famous enough at school?
She used to think that Ling Zhizhou was the only student in the past two years who didn’t give her special treatment because of her status as the little princess of the Mo family, but it turned out he didn’t know at all.
Mo Weiyi had no choice but to say, “Yes, I’ve been married for two years and my husband and I are very much in love. We were each other’s first love.”
“Really?” Ling Zhizhou’s expression seemed a bit downcast, “That’s enviable.”
Mo Weiyi looked at him apologetically, “I’m sorry, Ling Zhizhou, I know you’ve been good to me, but I have never cheated on…”
She never got out the word ‘cheating.’
“Why would you apologize?” Ling Zhizhou quickly interrupted her, “Does your marital status have anything to do with our friendship?”
Mo Weiyi blinked in confusion, “Umm…”
“Senior, I just thought you looked very similar to my sister, so when I saw you in the exam room that day, I felt an affinity towards you,” Ling Zhizhou explained.
Mo Weiyi sighed in relief, so that was it.
But she looked like his sister?
In all her life, she had never seen a woman who looked like her.
Mo Weiyi, curious, asked, “What’s your sister’s name? What did she do? Do you have a picture of her on your phone?”
Ling Zhizhou looked at her, his expression momentarily pained before he said with a smile, “My sister has passed away.”
“Huh?” Mo Weiyi was taken aback by this answer, quickly apologizing, “I’m sorry… I didn’t know… I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay.” Ling Zhizhou gave her a brilliant smile, “If you are worried that your husband might be upset when he sees me, then I’ll keep my distance from you in the future…”
“Oh no no,” Mo Weiyi hastily denied, “my husband is not a petty person and besides, we are friends.”
“Yes.” Ling Zhizhou scratched his head, his smile pure and shy.
**
Su Wanwan found it strange. After those two came back, they seemed to get along even better?
Mo Weiyi was even asking Ling Zhizhou about their assignments, so innocent… It was like they were a young couple.
What happened to him coming back in tears?
…
As evening approached, the lights in the reading room came on, and outside the windows, the night gradually fell.
Mo Weiyi stood up, “Wanwan, I have to go.”
“It seems to be raining outside.” Su Wanwan asked her, “Did you bring an umbrella?”
“My Uncle Liu is coming to pick me up.”
“Alright.”
After Mo Weiyi left, Su Wanwan saw Ling Zhizhou across the table suddenly get up, quickly pack his bag and leave as well.
**
Just as Mo Weiyi was about to call her driver, she felt a tap on her shoulder from behind, “Senior sister.”
She turned around to see Ling Zhizhou smile and hold out a black umbrella, “Here, you can borrow this.”
Mo Weiyi took the umbrella in surprise, “What about you?”
“I’ll be okay, my coat is thick, and I also have a hood.” As he spoke, Ling Zhizhou pulled the hood of his cotton coat over his head, “Let’s go.”
“…Alright.”
The two of them descended the stairs together, Mo Weiyi opening the umbrella.
She discovered that Ling Zhizhou had already stepped out into the rain.
The rain was heavy and quickly drenched his blue cotton jacket.
Mo Weiyi frowned, stepped into the misty rain with her umbrella, only to find that he was walking ahead.
“Ling Zhizhou,” she couldn’t help but call out, “Where are you going?”
“I’m going to the bank at the school gate to withdraw some money.”
“Then share the umbrella with me.”
The umbrella was quite big, the kind of large black umbrella that was more than enough for two people to share under.
Ling Zhizhou didn’t refuse, he reached out to take it, “Then let me hold it.”
“Okay.”
They walked towards the school gate together.
As they walked out of the main gate, Mo Weiyi didn’t see the familiar Audi.
She pulled out her phone and dialed Uncle Liu’s number, “Uncle Liu, have you arrived yet?”
“Princess, Mr. Xiao just called me and said that he’s coming to pick you up from school tonight.”
“Xiaobai is coming to pick me up?” Mo Weiyi’s eyes lit up, she was overjoyed.
Ling Zhizhou quickly looked up at her side.
A black Bentley slowly came to a stop at the roadside.
Mo Weiyi naturally saw it too, and exclaimed joyfully, “I can see his car now.”
After hanging up the phone, Mo Weiyi said immediately, “My husband is here, Ling Zhizhou. I’ll go now.”
Ling Zhizhou withdrew his gaze, smiled and said, “Alright.”
As he finished speaking, he quickly shoved the umbrella into her hands and turned around to run off.
He moved so quickly that Mo Weiyi had no time to refuse.
When she heard the sound of honking behind her, she turned around and quickly went over to open the car door.
“Xiaobai.”
The car was filled with warm heat. Xiao Yebai sat on the driver’s seat looking indifferent and cultured as he stared out of the misted-over car window with his sharp, deep eyes. Then, his deep and calm voice rang out, “Who was that boy?”
“A classmate, he saw me in the rain and lent me his umbrella.”
“And then he let himself get drenched in the rain?” Xiao Yebai narrowed his eyes, his tone indifferent but laced with clear mockery.
Mo Weiyi naturally noticed this, especially when she met his deep, pitch-black eyes, which felt bottomless.
Her heart jumped, and she quickly changed the subject, “Xiaobai, how come you’re free to pick me up today?”
Xiao Yebai stared at her quietly, his black pupils unwavering, and did not respond.
