My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot-Chapter 40: My Uncle Is 12 Years Older Than You
Alvin Morgan placed several cloth-wrapped bundles from the safe onto the desk for her to choose from.
Aurora Sinclair ignored the other bundles, directly untying one made of blue cloth with a white floral pattern. She took out a wooden jewelry box from within and then retied the bundle.
"Done choosing?"
Alvin Morgan glanced at the jewelry box in her arms, somewhat surprised.
Aurora Sinclair nodded.
Alvin Morgan didn’t say anything, simply handing her a silver case and setting the lock to her iris and fingerprint so she could store the jewelry box inside.
If the Morgan family guards outside saw this case, they would probably be shocked all over again.
This was the best security case in the world, one of only a hundred in existence. The metal alloy used to make it was worth over a hundred million alone. Not only was it fireproof, waterproof, and explosion-proof, but its anti-theft system had also been personally configured by Alvin Morgan himself.
When Aurora Sinclair appeared before Beta Morgan carrying the case, he choked on his own saliva and stared at it in her hands for a long time.
’His master really is a good "father" who dotes on his "daughter,"’ he thought. ’This kind of extravagance is on another level!’
The three of them were about to leave when a pleasant male voice suddenly called from outside.
"Whitlock... I’m here to see the artifacts!"
The smile on Darius Lynch’s face froze when he saw Aurora Sinclair.
The people in the room seemed to stop in place, as if someone had hit a pause button.
Alvin Morgan’s brow furrowed slightly, a hint of irritation in his eyes. "What are you doing here?"
Darius Lynch’s eyes were wide with shock. He stared at Aurora Sinclair for a long moment, as if trying to confirm her gender.
Then, the light in his eyes grew brighter and brighter, and he even forgot about his other identity that couldn’t be exposed.
Aurora Sinclair blinked, pulled out her phone, and glanced at the man on her lock screen. She then looked up at Darius Lynch, her gaze darting back and forth a few times, making it impossible for Alvin Morgan, who was standing beside her, not to notice.
Alvin Morgan’s expression instantly darkened. He grabbed Aurora Sinclair’s wrist and said in a low voice, "We should go."
"He..." Aurora Sinclair suddenly spoke, her eyes fixed on the man not far away before glancing down at her phone’s lock screen again.
Alvin Morgan glanced at Darius Lynch and didn’t deny it. "It’s him. But you have to keep it a secret. You can’t tell anyone."
Confusion flickered in Aurora Sinclair’s eyes. Alvin Morgan stopped and looked earnestly into her eyes. "He’s my uncle. His identity can’t be revealed to the public. Can you keep a secret, Aurora?"
Aurora Sinclair glanced at Darius Lynch again before nodding obediently. The corners of Alvin Morgan’s mouth, which had been pressed into a thin line, finally turned up, and he reached out to pat her head.
Darius Lynch’s beautiful, almond-shaped eyes were now wide as saucers, and he almost choked on his own saliva.
’Is this still my cold, heartless, scheming nephew who’d screw over his own family if they pissed him off?’
’That look in his eyes is way too sweet, isn’t it?’
’It must be an illusion!’
’My eyes must have been playing tricks on me!’
’Yes, that must be it!’
By the time Darius Lynch finished psyching himself up, the room was empty. Alvin Morgan had long since pulled Aurora Sinclair away and left.

In the car, Beta Morgan cautiously glanced at the man in the back seat through the rearview mirror. His master had been staring out the window for a long time, his head propped on one hand.
Though he couldn’t see his face, Beta Morgan got the distinct feeling that his master was in a bad mood.
’Could he be worried about the Fourth Master’s identity being exposed?’
He glanced over at Aurora Sinclair and saw that her expression was normal; she didn’t seem like a rabid fan of their Fourth Master. He was puzzled about what exactly his master was so irritated about.
In the back seat, Aurora Sinclair was staring motionlessly at the man on her phone’s lock screen, seemingly lost in thought. The screen remained brightly lit.
If Alvin Morgan turned his head, he would be able to see the man’s enlarged face.
The man in the photo was propping his chin on his hand and winking, a charmingly roguish smile on his face.
It was said that out of all of Darius Lynch’s photos, this was the one most likely to make women fall in love with him.
Just before they got out of the car, Alvin Morgan finally looked at Aurora Sinclair. His expression was hesitant, as if he wanted to say something but was holding back. At last, he said, "My uncle is a full twelve years older than you..."
Aurora Sinclair stared at him with her large, clear eyes for a moment, not quite understanding what he meant.
Alvin Morgan sighed. "Go on inside."
After Aurora Sinclair entered the lab building, Alvin Morgan’s expression slowly darkened. He gave Beta Morgan a cool glance and said emotionlessly, "From now on, no one else from the Morgan Family is to come here."

「That night.」
Aurora Sinclair, holding the jewelry box, knocked on the door to Jean Quincy’s bedroom.
"This... Is this..." Jean Quincy had a sharp eye and spotted the wooden jewelry box in Aurora Sinclair’s arms at once, asking in disbelief.
The craftsmanship of the jewelry box was exquisite. The openwork plum blossom carvings on it were so lifelike that you could even see the texture on the petals with the naked eye.
"Oh my god! This is gorgeous!" Jean Quincy took the jewelry box and carefully examined it on her desk.
The jewelry box was divided into two tiers. The upper tier was a small mechanism, normally hidden inside the box. To use it, one simply had to turn the plum blossom on the exterior, which would cause a hidden, plum-blossom-shaped compartment to rise up from within.
The mechanism was designed with incredible ingenuity. It was clearly a priceless piece of wooden craftsmanship.
"It’s for you."
Aurora Sinclair pushed the jewelry box toward her.
Jean Quincy froze, her expression quickly turning to one of pure ecstasy. "Oh my god! Aurora, I could just die! Where did you get this?"
"It was made."
"I know it was made, but where did you buy it? Are there more?" Jean Quincy assumed Aurora Sinclair had bought it somewhere and was thinking of going with her to buy a few more.
Aurora Sinclair thought for a moment, then shook her head. "This is the only one."
"Oh my god! Aurora, you’re so lucky! This piece is definitely top-quality..." Jean Quincy was absolutely ecstatic, on the verge of dancing around the room with the jewelry box.
"Aurora, I’ve decided! From now on, you’re my number one best friend!"
Aurora Sinclair nodded. Though her face remained expressionless, the tips of her ears turned red.
Jean Quincy carefully put away the jewelry box from Aurora Sinclair. After returning to the Quincy family home, she placed it on the vanity in her bedroom, took a couple of photos, and posted them to her social media account.
[My idol, look! Isn’t the gift my cousin gave me top-quality? @DariusLynch]

After a short break, the high school seniors once again entered a frantic study mode.
Having just finished the district-wide joint exams, everyone’s mind was on their scores.
During the breaks between classes, you could hear groups of students comparing answers and complaining about how ridiculously difficult the science portion of the joint exam had been.
"Aurora, how did you do on the science exam?"
Aurora Sinclair thought for a moment before replying, "There were two questions I couldn’t solve."
The moment she said that, half the class fell silent. Everyone stared at her in astonishment.
This year’s science exam was notoriously difficult, yet Aurora Sinclair was saying she only missed two questions?
’Holy shit! Is she bullshitting, or is she actually a genius?’
Mona Lowell suddenly exclaimed with a wide smile, "This science exam was written by the academic competition coaches. It was even harder than the college entrance exam. Alden said the last question was beyond the scope of the curriculum. Aurora, did you manage to solve it?"
Aurora Sinclair thought about her test paper and nodded.
The smile on Mona Lowell’s face grew even wider. "Wow, you’re amazing! I heard that even Zeke Quincy from the experimental Class A couldn’t solve it. It looks like your score on this joint exam will probably surpass his!"
Many of the girls in Class Six had a crush on Zeke Quincy, and one of them snorted coldly at Mona’s words. "Before the scores are out, who knows if she even got it right? If she can’t even score a 60, she’ll be a total laughingstock!"
"Don’t be like that. Don’t forget, Sinclair’s tutor is Chester Greene! Physics should be simple for her..." Mona Lowell added, instantly provoking a wave of mockery from some of the girls in Class Six.
"So what if it’s Chester Greene? The science exam isn’t just physics..."
"Exactly. Does she really think a few tutoring sessions with Professor Greene will let her surpass Campus Prince Quincy? That’s just absurd!"
