There were no words coming out of any of the Altered hunters' mouths. None from those that didn't really know what they had just witnessed, and neither from the five-star hunters that were in charge of the expedition.

Trixie was constantly blinking and even rubbed her eyes a few times. Whereas Saiber, he had been smiling up until just a few moments ago.

None of them knew what to expect from an apprentice, but it certainly wasn't this, and they didn't know what the result of the outcome was going to be.

They couldn't exactly complain or say what Kai had done was unfair either when he had spat at Pluto.

None of the lower star hunters would have dared to do such a thing, but based on Saiber's explanation, it was just fine and Kai was only doing what the other expected in return.

'This is what he meant…' Gary thought gripping his fist. 'When he said sorry, he was apologizing for what he was just about to do. He knew that this would be the end outcome, this was no accident.'

The thing was, Gary couldn't really be upset at Kai at all either. He had done just what all of them wished they could do.

When Gary was upset, when Austin was upset, in the end surprisingly Kai had acted out on his actions.

Slowly, Kai had pulled away the daggers from Pluto on the ground, making it clear that he didn't wish to go further than this, and he even put the weapons away.

There was no way that Kai could have failed the assessment, the performance wouldn't allow anyone to believe that.

The issue was, whether or not it would cause further problems and questions. In Kai's mind he had his own thoughts.

'Gary had already been told that he had failed this assessment, and without him this whole thing doesn't work anyway. So in the end it didn't matter what I did. I might as well do what we all wanted to do, and teach them a lesson that we Howlers are not to be trifled with.'

The pent-up emotions of everything the Howlers had gone through had come out, and he had right reason to do so.

Kai didn't wait for a result as he went to walk back to the other three. When Gary and Kai looked at each other, Gary let out a big smile.

"You don't need to apologize, you know that right," Gary said.

"I know, but it might put all of us in a difficult position," Kai said. "It's the least I can do right?"

Now, all they needed to do was wait for Saiber to say something. Before he had, the Altered hunters were having discussions among themselves.

"Hey, do you think you could have done that to Pluto?" One asked.

"What, not a chance, of course not. Pluto is skilled and did you see how fast they were all moving. That guy is special that's for sure."

"Yeah but fighting against Altered and fighting against other humans are different. He might just be the type that's good at fighting against others."

The general consensus among them all though, was that they wouldn't have been able to do the same if they were in their shoes.

"Well that was quite the match right?" Saiber said as he walked to the center and saw Pluto getting up.

"Of course, a five-star hunter if they were fighting at full strength could never lose against an apprentice, but even then for an apprentice to do such a thing is surely impressive." Saiber started to clap, and he could see that all the other Altered hunters started to clap as well.

It was quite clear that the entire act was just to save face on the matter. Because he didn't want them to lose confidence in those that were leading the expedition, or starting to think they could rely on others.

"Alright everyone, we should rest up and go through plans for the rest of the day!" Saiber declared. "Your final apprentice is accepted, and we will incorporate the two of them into the mission."

"What, just us two, and not all three of us?" Kai immediately questioned. Gaining some confidence after the particular matter. "You still aren't going to change your decision. All of us are just as skilled as each other."

Saying these words, he needed others to support him.

"A decision has been made. He can stay with us, until we need to leave tomorrow, but I won't be changing my mind," Saiber said as he clicked his fingers and the Altered hunters who had gathered to see the little fights had split off into small groups.

Gathering to eat, drink and prepare for their journey that they would soon go on.

"Well, what do we do?" Austin asked.

"Don't worry," Blackjack said as he joined the others. "I already said, I can figure this out. It's partly my fault, for now you three just rest up. Don't worry about the plans they make, we'll adjust as we can."

Now they could only trust Blackjack. The one thing they were thankful for, was that Kai's use of powers didn't seem to cause any alarm bells to ring in their minds.

When Saiber had gone into one of the tents along with Trixie, the smiles on Saiber's face had turned into frowns as he stared at Pluto.

"Pluto what was that performance out there, if it wasn't for my quick thinking we would have looked like fools!" Saiber said. "I know you have the right to hold back, but you should know when to also put them in order as well."

Saiber continued to shake his head, until Pluto spoke.

"But Saiber…" Pluto said as he paused. "I didn't…I didn't hold back."
