The Old Demon Emperor said directly, "Oh, what a coincidence! Just as we were about to set off, the most mysterious dragon race of this world appears. It seems we've been discovered."

Xue Dili exhaled a breath of vapor that quickly turned into white mist in the air. He understood the Old Demon Emperor's implied message.

At their level, they don't believe in coincidences. They suspect someone is plotting against them, especially since they've not been in this world long and were just speculating about the dragon race's hidden secrets.

Then suddenly, a highly suspicious dragon descended from the sky. They weren't about to believe it was a coincidence.

The Dragon Maiden seemed bewildered, unsure if it was the fall that scrambled her brains or the atmosphere's friction that destroyed her clothes and burned her mind. After landing, she was standing there with her mouth open, tongue sticking out, dumbly looking at Xue Dili.

But during the Old Demon Emperor's continuous detection, he paused and a substantial question mark seemed to appear above Xue Dili's head.

"What's wrong?" Xue Dili asked.

Originally, he planned to tie up the dragon immediately. The other side looked silly enough to be non-threatening, but Xue Dili still intended to extract some information about this world, or at the very least get a language template from her that could be used for translation modules.

What the Old Demon Emperor said next left Xue Dili stunned.

"In my detection, this child is less than 8 months old? How is this possible?" The Old Demon Emperor's pupils revealed deep confusion.

"How is that possible?" Xue Dili's face was also full of question marks. Though the Little Dragon Lady had reptilian features, the human traits alone made her seem at least 16 years old.

But now the Old Demon Emperor claimed she was 8 months old. Staring blankly at the nearly 1.6-meter-tall youngster in the crater, Xue Dili blurted, "You're calling this eight months old?"

At that moment, the Little Dragon Lady seemed to move toward Xue Dili and said, "Mama~"

Xue Dili: "..."

Old Demon Emperor: "..."

The world suddenly fell silent, leaving only the sound of the howling cold wind and the rustling gray snow.

Seeming confused by Xue Dili's lack of response, the Little Dragon Lady tilted her head, sticking her tongue out, once again saying, "Ma~ma?"

"Is she your daughter?" the Old Demon Emperor asked in confusion.

"No, I'm not, I don't, stop speaking nonsense! How could I have such a big daughter? Besides, I'm human, not a dragon. How could I have a Little Dragon Daughter?" Xue Dili immediately denied with rapid-fire retorts.

The Old Demon Emperor said nothing as he didn't know Xue Dili's emotional history or past, only suspiciously eyeing him. He couldn't help but think that maybe Xue Dili had done something that led to unexpectedly having a child with a dragon, resulting in this Little Dragon Lady.

Now the daughter directly descends upon his arrival in this world, a typical human reaction.

"Don't be hasty; she really is only 8 months old. This comes from the magic power feedback. The spiritual particles within her have not been gathering for more than eight months," the Old Demon Emperor continued, "also, having an 8-month-old daughter at your age isn't unusual…"

Xue Dili: "..."

He never had any relation with the dragon race; the only connection Xue Dili has with dragons was possibly stepping on a dinosaur fossil when he was little.

But what significance does a dinosaur on Blue Star have with the Dragon Race of this world?

At this moment, as if she had decided on Xue Dili, the Little Dragon Lady immediately came up to his side, opened her mouth with her tongue sticking out and said, "Mama!"

She seemed to only know this one sound, attempting to use it to convey all meanings, which led Xue Dili to somewhat believe this was indeed an 8-month-old baby.

Though looking at her nearly 1.6 meters tall didn't match the age of 8 months at all.

Then she directly came over, tugging at Xue Dili's hand constantly.

Xue Dili couldn't tell what she wanted to do; to him, the instinctual reaction of this little dragon race left him utterly baffled.

"She's hungry and thirsty, opening her mouth asking you to feed her. This seems to be an instinctual habit of their race, praying for elder's help to get food and water when they can't hunt alone..." explained the Old Demon Emperor.

Xue Dili: "..."

Isn't this a trait only birds have? Some birds do this, always keeping their mouths open for their bird mother to feed them bugs, and if they don't get any bugs, they keep following the mother bird, persistently opening their mouths and pulling at her.

Why does this creature's behavior match birds' exactly? 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

Xue Dili immediately took out a bottle of mineral water and a clinical medicine book from the Consciousness Space, then transformed the clinical medicine textbook into a thick, knowledge-filled loaf of bread and gently passed the mineral water into Little Dragon Lady's mouth.

As the first drop of water fell into her mouth, her squinted eyes widened, and she immediately grabbed the bottle and guzzled it down in large gulps. She tossed the plastic bottle into the crater, and when she saw the bread in Xue Dili's hand, her eyes blinked, she opened her mouth again, seemingly waiting for Xue Dili to feed her.

Xue Dili speechlessly tore off a small piece of the bread and put it into the Dragon Maiden's mouth. Her eyes seemed to light up, and with Xue Dili's permission, she took the clinical medicine bread and started to eat hungrily.

Watching her, Xue Dili suddenly believed this was indeed an eight-month-old child, considering her very bird-like behavior, he wondered if she might call him "mama," simply because he was the first being she saw upon opening her eyes.

So, naturally, the just-awakened dragon thought he was her mother...

Thinking of this, Xue Dili felt complicated; if this were a proper dragon, he wouldn't mind using some Asian tie-up to interrogate information from her mouth.

But looking at the little girl squatting there, devouring bread like a reincarnated starving soul, treating the bread in her hands as if it were her imaginary enemy, shredding it with a fury akin to a husky tearing up slippers, Xue Dili found himself at a loss for words.

"Looks like she's really not your daughter, but a characteristic of their race; they seem to treat the first creature they see as their mother and rely on them to survive. It's written in their race's underlying code," the Old Demon Emperor analyzed the Dragon Maiden's behavior and drew his conclusion.

Xue Dili also saw this, but now what should they do?

Moreover, in this harsh winter, the little dragon was naked all over, with only a few scales covering corresponding parts of her body, leaving her navel and chest exposed to the wind and snow.

Xue Dili estimated her size and then used Fantasy Materialization to create a thick windbreaker like a big quilt, directly draping it over the Little Dragon Lady who was still gnawing on the bread.

Little Dragon Lady seemed unfazed, holding the bread with one hand and not minding as Xue Dili tucked her scaly hand into the quilted coat, then, when her small hand emerged from within, Xue Dili repeated the process with her other hand.

Touching her wings, he found them soft, probably because they were still cartilage; the wings' bones hadn't hardened yet, further proving the Old Demon Emperor's claim that she was just a baby.

Using Fantasy Manifestation, he added a sleeve to the coat at the wings' position, tucking the small wings neatly inside, and finally zipped it up. Thus, the Little Dragon Lady was now wearing a winter coat like a thick quilt.

Though it was just changing a child's clothes, even this simple act made Xue Dili feel exhausted, and so far, they hadn't made any investigative progress about this world, suddenly having an eight-month-old baby drop from the sky beside them.

He had a hunch that this world's World Consciousness was playing tricks on him, trying to convey a message through this fallen Little Dragon Lady, given how coincidental all this was. Just as Xue Dili arrived in this world, she fell from the sky, landing close to him.

However, before he could dwell further, he heard the sound of footsteps crunching through snow outside the crater and the chatter of many creatures, the sound of conversations.

It seemed to be the native language of this world; Xue Dili's language module was doing its utmost to gather information from it and trying to decipher it.

He immediately took the scaly hand within the quilted coat and left the crater, standing on the snowfield, feeling as if they had been spotted because they were now surrounded by figures all wearing white cloaks.

They all huddled within their cloaks and snow-white clothes, the cold air they exhaled turning into ice crystals in the air.

Looking closer, Xue Dili found men, women, even elderly and children among them. Their gaze at Xue Dili mixed with fear and a hint of greed, hinting at something.

Yet Xue Dili also noticed their clothes were tattered, and upon closer inspection, many appeared undernourished with sickly complexions.

Additionally, it seemed many were burdened with various ailments, eyeing the pair with greedy eyes, swallowing audibly, leading Xue Dili to a suspicion.

Have they encountered a refugee group from this world?

Refugees might be the polite term; in such a nuclear winter world, those living outdoors could turn into the most ruthless beasts at any moment.
