Chapter 427: Revelation

"It all started when I left. But first thing first, I know that you’re curious about who I am and where I’m from, and the truth is that I’m not from this world," Liam said.

Master Han’s eyes narrowed, as the pieces clicked into place.

Luo’s face remained calm, hut he was rattled internally. This wasn’t information you heard every day. He’d suspected Liam was extraordinary, but this exceeded all expectations. And somehow, he didn’t doubt a single word.

Liam watched their reactions, gauging how to proceed. After a few moments, he continued what he was saying.

"I come from a different universe," Liam continued, letting the weight of those words settle. "Where I’m from, there’s no cultivation. No qi, no spiritual energy, nothing like what exists here."

Master Han leaned forward, his face showing fascination overriding shock.

"Instead of cultivation, my people developed technology," Liam said. "We built machines and tools that let us accomplish things some things cultivators do, but through different means."

He could see the confusion on their faces and smiled slightly. Some concepts simply didn’t translate well.

"I had to leave because I needed to meet an entity," Liam said, choosing his words with care. "The journey required traveling through outer space, similar to the void between worlds here, but with different dangers. Less chaotic, more predictable, but spanning distances you can’t imagine."

He deliberately left out details about the Grand Universe, about Earth’s exact nature, about the full scope of reality beyond their understanding. Too much information would overwhelm them. What mattered was giving them context for his absence and his capabilities.

Master Han and Luo sat in stunned silence, processing revelations that challenged everything they knew about existence. Another universe. A world without cultivation. Technology replacing spiritual power. The concepts felt alien and impossible, yet completely believable coming from Liam.

Master Han had always known Liam was different. But this? This redefined everything.

Luo’s mind raced through multiple thoughts. If other universes existed, if cultivation wasn’t universal, what did that mean for everything else? The questions in his head multiplied faster than answers could form.

Liam let the silence stretch, giving them time to absorb what he’d shared. He knew the feeling—the vertigo of discovering your world was smaller than you imagined, that reality extended far beyond comfortable boundaries.

A full minute passed before Master Han finally spoke, his voice steadier than Liam expected.

I knew you were different, Master," the old blacksmith said, his voice carrying a note of wonder beneath its usual warmth. "From the moment you walked into my shop and examined my work with those knowing eyes, I knew there was something extraordinary about you. But I never imagined how different you truly were."

He shook his head slowly, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

"I’m curious to know more about you and your world. About this technology you mentioned, about what it’s like to live in a place without spiritual energy. But more than that..." Master Han’s expression grew serious, his eyes meeting Liam’s directly. "I’m grateful. Grateful that you trusted me enough to share this truth, and grateful for everything you’ve done for me. For healing me, for protecting me, for treating an old blacksmith with the respect and kindness you have."

Warmth bloomed in Liam’s chest. He smiled, genuine affection in his expression. "I should be thanking you, Master Han, for everything."

They shared a moment of mutual respect, two beings from impossibly different origins who’d found common ground.

Luo broke the silence, a smile crossing his usually reserved face. "I feel privileged to meet someone like you, Senior Liam. I hope to learn much from you in the time ahead."

"And I have much to show you both," Liam replied.

Master Han nodded slowly, exhaustion finally showing through his excitement. "I still have so much to learn. I can hardly wait to see the forging room you mentioned."

"The place exists in a separate dimension," Liam explained. "I’ll take you there once you’ve had a few days to heal properly. Your body’s been through trauma, Master Han. You really need rest."

Master Han smiled ruefully, recognizing the futility of arguing. Liam was right, and they both knew it.

"What will you do next?" he asked instead.

"I need to leave soon," Liam said. "There’s someone I have to meet in another universe. Personal business I’ve delayed too long."

Master Han nodded, understanding passing between them. "I won’t keep you then. When will we see you again?"

"In two to three days and I’ll return to take you both to the place," Liam said.

"Thank you, Liam. And good luck with whatever you face."

Liam stood up, feeling the moment’s significance. To him, Master Han and Luo has become his companions, his people and he intends to really take care of them.

"Goodbye for now," he said, and vanished.

Master Han remained in his chair, staring at the space Liam had occupied. A smile played across his face as he considered the future.

He flexed his restored hand again, marveling at the smooth, painless movement. Whatever that future held, he would face it with hands that could create again, with a body free from the burdens that had weighed him down for so long.

He couldn’t wait to see what it would bring.

Liam materialized above the inn where Chrises was staying. Night had fallen in Velaris, just like in Grand Xia, as the magic universe shared timeframes with the cultivation universe.

He descended smoothly, dropping from the roof to hover outside Chrises’ window. Through the open window, he could see her in her room, reaching up to unfasten her clothes after a long day.

Liam knocked on the window before she could proceed further.

Chrises froze mid-motion, quickly adjusting her garments before turning toward the unexpected sound. When she saw who waited outside, her entire face transformed and a bright smile burst across her features.

"Master!" she exclaimed, rushing to open the window.

Liam floated inside as she stepped back, her joy palpable in the room’s confined space. She looked well, slightly tired from her duties but healthy.

Chrises opened the window and stepped back to let Liam enter. He floated through the opening and landed softly on the wooden floor.

"How are you?" He asked, walking to the bed. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"I’m fine, Master. It’s been so long since I saw you. I thought something had happened but when I asked Lucy, she told me that you were very busy,’ Chrises replied.

She noticed how different Liam looked and feel, and the pressure pressing down on her. It was taking all of her willpower not to kneel and lower her head.

"Yeah. About that, a lot of things happened. But forget about me, I can see that you have changed a lot. Tell me everything that happened while I was away."

Chrises smiled and started recounting everything, giving Liam all the juicy details of the actions Velaris nobles took, all in a bid to take the shop and the secrets for themselves.
