My Ultimate OP System: Summoning All Dragons, Gods, Heroes & Villains-Chapter 60: It’s Show Time!
Two Working Days Later...
"Is everyone in position?" Ethan asked, with his Arcphone held to his ear as he stared in one direction at the wall of the manor.
Francesca watched intently from behind him.
"I am, Master Ethan," Valerie replied.
She was currently disguised as a worker within the production floor of Stark Industries. She wore the same grimy, oil-stained vest and thick canvas trousers the working men did, her hair tied back under a cloth cap to blend in completely. Her hands were smudged with soot for added effect.
She glanced up and nodded at Henrik, who had been the one to provide her with the disguise and uniform.
Henrik nodded back.
"I am, Master Ethan," Eduardo said from within the vintage car, parked discreetly in a hidden alley tucked away in the next block over from Stark Industries.
The vehicle was positioned so that he had a clear line of sight to the main road leading to the company entrance, but remained out of view from anyone approaching.
"Good, good," Ethan said. "I’m still watching. I haven’t seen him yet, but remain on alert. It could be today."
He spoke while staring at nothing in particular, as though looking past the wall itself.
But he was actually staring through the eyes of his ranger summon, Finn the Shot, using the Bond skill that allowed him to share thoughts and vision with his summons.
Finn was currently perched atop a high-rise building almost 1,500 meters away from Stark Industries.
And with his passive skill, Eagle’s Eye, which granted him enhanced vision up to 2 kilometers with zooming capability, he had a perfect vantage point to monitor anyone entering or leaving the company grounds.
Ethan could also operate really far away from his summons, something most other regular summoners couldn’t manage.
However, even though the stark spoke with certainty, a part of him couldn’t help but wonder if Victor had decided not to take the bait after all.
On the other hand, Eduardo was also chasing a different lead. In fact, right now as he waited in the car, he had just received a text from an unknown number.
And that text contained an address, directing him to a certain location within the city. The last place Victor had been spotted.
He glanced down at his Arcphone, which lay on the passenger seat beside his sheathed katana.
He was waiting to see if today would also be a bust like the two days before. And if it was, then he’d immediately chase this new lead.
Then suddenly, Ethan’s voice came through sharply. "I see a vehicle..."
His eyes widened as he quickly added, "Guys, it’s him. Victor just drove into the compound."
Eduardo’s expression shifted to one of puzzlement. He turned to look at the location details still displayed on his Arcphone screen, then back out toward the road ahead of him. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
He spoke into the device. "Master Ethan, do I go in now?"
"No, not yet," Ethan said firmly from his living room. "If Victor is here, then the other bastard he’s working with will definitely show up any moment. Valerie, I hope you’re ready?"
"Yes, Master Ethan," she replied quietly into her device.
Not long after, Finn’s sight reacted from that long distance. Another vehicle drove into his magnified view. It was black, and from it stepped out the gaunt-looking man in the poorly fitted suit.
Behind him came two other men carrying boxes in their hands.
The only reason this had actually delayed two days was because Juan had needed time to convince the buyers again that this time, the sale would go through.
He cited the last failed attempt as an error on their part and promised smooth proceedings this time around.
"Motherfuckers..." Ethan whispered under his breath.
Then he called out loudly to Eduardo and Valerie. "It’s showtime!"
Immediately, Eduardo shifted the car into gear and drove out of the alley. He merged smoothly onto the main street and began heading toward Stark Industries, which was now just a short drive away.
Valerie nodded at Henrik, mouthed a silent "thank you," then quickly stepped out through a side pathway leading away from the production floor.
Back at the manor, Ethan had just slipped his arms into his long black overcoat. Beneath it, he wore a simple white shirt left mostly unbuttoned and untucked.
He began walking toward the exit of his room as Francesca called out from behind him. "Has he shown himself, Master Ethan?"
Ethan only nodded.
She nodded back without saying anything further, understanding that the moment they’d been waiting for over the last few days had finally arrived.
Walking down the stairs and out into the open grounds of his compound, Ethan whispered softly, "Ars Levitas."
A faint purple glow flickered beneath his feet for a split second. Suddenly, he hovered upward, guided by the gentle manipulation of gravity around him.
Then, without warning, he shot into the skies like a rocket, leaving a violent gust of sand and wind swirling in his wake. He flew toward the direction of Stark Industries in a sonic boom that echoed across the city.
——
Valerie positioned herself carefully by the corner of the hallway, watching as the door to the boardroom closed after the last of the buyers had entered.
This was the same boardroom where Ethan and Eduardo had confronted Victor days before.
Once the coast was clear, she walked hurriedly toward the door, still dressed like a working woman from the production floor.
She placed her hand gently on the surface of the door, and a small red magic circle appeared beneath her palm, glowing faintly as arcane symbols spun into place.
Right then, she cast a sealing spell on the door. A powerful one, at Tier 6 strength.
But it wasn’t just on the door. It was on the entire room. No one within it could leave, not even by jumping out of the windows. Leaving was practically prohibited.
However, entrance into that office was not denied. That was exactly how the spell worked. One could enter, but not leave. Not unless it was undone by the caster of the spell herself.
Ethan, as of now, had just flown past the building where Finn stood watch. And as soon as he did, the summon disappeared into motes of purple light.
His job here was done.
Ethan landed gently right beside Eduardo, who was holding his sheathed katana in his left hand while standing calmly at the entrance leading into the company.
"Right on time, Master Ethan," Eduardo said.
Ethan straightened his coat and replied in a cold voice.
"Let’s show these fools the error of their ways."
