My System Increases My power Every Day Without Missions and Levelling-Chapter 268: Looking For Grace
"That woman refused the people who wanted to support her—it doesn’t mean she can’t obtain supporters. But then why is she still so bold? Is she that foolish to believe she can rely solely on her own strength?" Lilith said.
"She is also known to have obtained many Grand Sovereign inheritances, but that still wouldn’t allow her to deal with the many Ancient Sovereigns involved in the struggle for the World Magic Aether."
"So, do you know what she’s relying on?"
"Her adopted daughter," Lilith replied in a low voice.
"Grace?" Richard spontaneously spoke the girl’s name—the girl who had first given him the pleasure of being a man.
"It’s no longer a secret that your mother raised her adopted daughter to assist her."
"How strong could she possibly become? Even if she becomes extremely powerful, can a single person fight against many enemies? Those special inheritances might accelerate the growth of one’s strength, but there is a limit to that. To advance beyond that limit requires time and long accumulation."
As far as Richard knew, even the best inheritances could not help someone reach the level of the White Ancestor, the Crimson Grand Ancestor, and others within a short time. Even reaching a level just one step below them was extremely rare and usually came with serious consequences.
"We’ll only know when we see that girl again. Perhaps there really will be a miracle that surprises us. In the past, there was such a success—someone who used a special inheritance from the Heaven Emperor Grand Sovereign. It was achieved by one of his descendants."
Richard frowned.
Of course, if Grace could truly become that powerful, it would be a good thing for him.
But could Rebecca really believe that her doctrine could control Grace?
As Richard continued thinking, he suddenly remembered Grace’s background, causing him to glance at the ark above.
Aether Magic Shop. Grace was connected to it, and she herself had said that its owner was one of the strongest figures in this world—and also a member of the Order of the Heaven Emperor.
"Sister Lilith, do you know who the owner of the Aether Magic Shop is?" Richard asked, confusing Lilith since it seemed like he had suddenly changed the topic.
Information about that was naturally a secret—not something intentionally hidden, but because the owner chose to remain inconspicuous.
Of course, Lilith might know. She had access to the information gathered by the Holy Star Kingdom since its founding.
Considering that the kingdom had once been prosperous and famous throughout the world, it was impossible that they wouldn’t know about that person.
"The son of the Heaven Emperor Grand Sovereign. However, from what I’ve heard, he and the other descendants left the Order of the Heaven Emperor long ago, choosing to wander across the world and form their own small group. At present, that ark is basically inhabited by the descendants of the followers of the Heaven Emperor Grand Sovereign and the descendants of the other four Grand Sovereigns," Lilith still answered despite the strange question.
"And what happened to the descendant who created that miracle?"
"Unfortunately, he died not long after because he couldn’t withstand that power."
Richard: "..."
At this point, he wondered whether Grace’s fate would be the same, but then he thought that wasn’t quite right.
Grace might be a descendant of the Heaven Emperor Grand Sovereign, but it was impossible for Rebecca to possess the Grand Sovereign’s special inheritance.
The Grand Sovereign’s descendants were quite numerous and extremely powerful. If Rebecca had possessed such an inheritance, they would certainly have come looking for it.
What she relied on to strengthen Grace must be something else.
"Sister Lilith, I’m going to Night Valley City," he said after thinking for a moment.
Lilith became somewhat confused again upon hearing that, but Richard had already changed direction, flying away at his fastest speed.
He didn’t know whether Grace was in that city, but he needed to find her.
As a Lord, it didn’t take him long to reach the city, even though the distance could be considered quite far.
Even from that city, the ark above still looked the same.
Richard looked at the city from afar. At its edge stood a rocky hill with an ancient castle on top of it—the very place where he himself had been born. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
He entered the city through its gate.
Unlike the capital, which was more controlled, the people in this city were filled with excessive anxiety, causing quite a bit of chaos.
Richard didn’t need to search for Grace directly. Because of their familiarity, once he arrived in this city, he should have been able to sense her presence—but it seemed she wasn’t in the city at the moment.
Richard realized that information about her location would only be in that castle.
He just didn’t know whether Rebecca was there or not.
But after thinking for a moment, he still flew toward the castle.
Now that he possessed considerable strength, it would be wrong if he were still afraid of Rebecca.
With a single step in flight, he landed in front of the castle’s main gate without causing even the slightest ripple.
Tok! Tok! Tok!
He knocked on the door, still hoping Rebecca wasn’t there so he could meet Mrs. Wilson and ask her instead.
Not long after he knocked, the door opened, revealing the figure of a middle-aged woman.
Her expression instantly turned stunned when she saw who was standing behind the door.
She even seemed unable to believe what she was seeing.
"Young Master," she said in a surprised tone, unable to understand why he was here and thinking it improper to ask him directly.
Meanwhile, Richard frowned.
Faintly, he could sense Rebecca’s aura in one of the rooms in the castle.
She was actually here, and was perhaps simply cultivating.
But perhaps it was a serious training session, so the woman had not noticed his presence.
"Ahem..." Richard cleared his throat first.
"Mrs. Wilson, I’m looking for Grace. Where is she?" he asked.
