"Do they like them?" Titus Quinn grinned.

Melody and Leon both felt a thud in their hearts as they dropped their hands; Titus Quinn and Jared’s gazes were fixed on them.

On the broken rooftop, there were two lines of men holding guns aimed in their direction.

"One, two, three..." Titus Quinn counted the number of people up there. "There are a total of ten people, positioned in various spots. Do you think they’ll die, or will they die?"

The sinister voice made Titus Quinn seem like a completely different person.

"Sister-in-law, did you anticipate we’d be discovered?" Leon looked around warily. In short, he hadn’t guessed it.

"No, I thought they wouldn’t find us," Melody spoke the truth.

Leon flinched at the corner of his eye, stepping forward to shield Melody. He and Jared were brothers, and naturally, he had to protect his brother’s wife. Even if it meant dying, he couldn’t let Melody die; that’s what he owed his brother.

"Jared, don’t worry about sister-in-law," Leon squinted his eyes.

Titus Quinn watched their interaction with extreme irony. "He won’t even save his own father. Only someone as brainless as you would follow him blindly. Do you think he cares about your worthless life?"

"My worthless life isn’t worth anything, but if dying could save my brother’s woman, then my worthless life would be worth it," Leon still chuckled.

That expression deeply stung Titus Quinn’s eyes. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"I want your right hand! Hurry," he had completely lost his sanity, his gaze falling upon Jared’s right hand.

His right hand had been stained with countless blood, yet never his own. If his right hand had pulled the trigger then, it would have been him who died, not Ethan, nor the woman he loved!

Melody kept telling herself to stay calm. Just two more minutes, Mrs. Quinn would come. She would definitely come!

"Sister-in-law, you’re usually so reliable, how come you’re not today?" Leon joked, sweat already forming on his forehead. Harold Chapman was nearby, but their lives were in Titus Quinn’s hands.

"Shut up," Melody gritted her teeth.

The gun that had been under Jared’s foot was picked up by him, his slender fingers turning it a few times before stopping.

"Faster!" Titus Quinn’s gaze greedily fixed on Jared’s right hand, not just his hand but also his heart, as the thrill of revenge slowly coalesced.

"Three"

"Two"

Jared switched the gun to his left hand, pressing the muzzle against the palm of his right.

"One" was silently mouthed by Melody.

"Boom," a great sound erupted from the broken rooftop, as if it had exploded, causing the entire roof to collapse.

Everyone below dodged quickly, while those on the second floor holding guns didn’t have time to escape and were crushed beneath.

"Even heaven treats me this way!" Titus Quinn roared angrily in defiance, drawing both guns to fire at the surrounding gasoline barrels. "Even if I die, you’ll die with me!"

A blaze ignited rapidly, separating Titus Quinn and Jared with raging flames. No one dared to approach the ferocious inferno.

"Titus," Mrs. Quinn crawled in weakly, collapsing to the ground. She cried out in agony, "Titus, it wasn’t your brother’s fault. It wasn’t his fault; it’s mine, it’s my fault. I deserve to die. Those people back then targeted the Quinn Family because of me."
