Chapter 442: Chapter 442: Blow

For several days, Melody Thorne attended different film premieres, acting as if nothing was wrong. Occasionally, Hans Montrose, fearing she was too lazy, would bring homemade meals for her.

Jared Quinn observed all this. Compared to Hans Montrose, he was more domineering and bad-tempered, and he couldn’t cook...

Jared Quinn’s lips pressed tightly together as he stared at the window on the fifth floor. Compared to them, they didn’t seem like newlyweds, let alone a couple in the throes of love.

"Knock, knock" came a knocking sound on the door.

Melody Thorne looked up at the door, knowing that she felt particularly safe everywhere she went lately.

Jared Quinn was always right behind her,

making it impossible to ignore him, blatantly following her.

Even at night, his car was never seen leaving.

She was constantly attentive to the noises outside, and when she heard the knocking, her whole body tensed up.

She knew it was him, but still had to open the door.

"Click" Melody Thorne opened the door.

The tall, imposing figure outside walked in, carrying a box that looked like a cake. As he entered, it felt as if a cold wave swept through the room.

"Did you agree to release Caleb?" Melody Thorne stood by the door and spoke, looking at the tall, imposing back of the man.

Jared Quinn placed the box on the table by the window, sitting across from her just like Hans Montrose did that day. His large hands opened the cake, identical to the one she chose that day. A golden lighter lit the candles one by one...

Melody Thorne watched his actions, knowing that the domineering side of Jared Quinn was acting up again.

"Come here," Jared Quinn extended a large hand, his deep, alluring eyes piercing through her, his calm tone leaving no room for refusal.

"Answer my question first," Melody Thorne leaned against the door, her arms crossed, light cascading over her shapely figure, reflecting her little secrets and cunning.

Jared Quinn’s gaze landed on her delicate, fair face. His thin lips almost spoke but closed again.

He wanted to tell her to come obediently if she wanted Caleb released, using his usual threatening manner. But knowing Melody Thorne disliked such approaches, he swallowed the words back down.

"Consider," he changed it to just two words.

"Hm?" Melody Thorne raised her elegant brows, thinking she misheard him. She expected Jared Quinn to spout his usual threats.

Jared Quinn remained silent, his enigmatic dark eyes fixed on her.

Melody Thorne glanced around, confirming she hadn’t imagined it—Jared indeed said to consider.

She took small steps toward him, displaying a guarded expression despite her efforts to conceal it. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Jared Quinn’s arm casually rested on the table as he restrained himself from pulling her into his embrace, her pleasant scent lingering in the air.

He also wished to see her smile at him.

Melody Thorne sat opposite Jared Quinn, the warm yellow candlelight enveloping her, highlighting her delicate features, making her look like an exquisite porcelain doll.

Giving an impression that she could shatter at a touch.

"Is it for me?"

"Blow."

Melody Thorne "..."

She puffed her cheeks and blew out the candles in one breath.

Jared Quinn’s chiseled features suddenly darkened, his dark eyes gazing at the candles, lost in thought.
