My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!-Chapter 433: You Lost
The piano was also Stella Seymour’s forte; she had won many awards for it, both domestically and internationally.
Stella reluctantly nodded. In her heart, she planned to humiliate Melody Thorne.
Beating her at the piano should barely be possible.
"I agree."
"Whatever," Melody Thorne replied somewhat nonchalantly.
Stella became even more furious, turning angrily towards a nearby piano.
"Playing piece by piece is too time-consuming. Why not play together?" Melody Thorne approached another piano.
Rhys was speechless, thinking, "This isn’t something else; how can you play a piano together?"
Melody’s fingers touched the keys, beginning her favorite Fraelance romantic piece, a famous song narrating a tragic love story.
As the sound emerged, Stella and Rhys both were shocked because this piece was incredibly hard to play, not something that anyone without professional training could complete.
It seemed like she had some foundation; Stella sneered and commenced playing romantic music as well, planning to have a proper match with her.
But just as her fingers touched the keys, failing to catch up with Melody’s tempo, Melody swiftly switched to another famous piece, and Stella followed, then Melody changed again.
As this back and forth continued, Stella grew more and more anxious. Melody was changing pieces at an especially rapid pace, almost every two minutes, and each one was a masterpiece.
She wasn’t really playing the piano but rather playing with it. After dozens of pieces, Stella’s face became increasingly gloomy; she was already a bit disoriented and just when she seemed ready to catch up...
With a "snap," Melody closed the piano before her.
At that moment, Stella was glaring at the piano in front of her, without needing anyone to remind her of the result. She knew that, no matter who started first, the result was that she lost. She had been flustered from the start, trying to chase but never catching up.
"It’s just a child’s game; there’s no need for you two to take it too seriously," Rhys walked over in large strides to comfort Stella’s somewhat defeated mood, whispering, "Trust me, she only won by luck."
"Is that so?" Stella squinted, noticing that now all eyes were on Melody and not on her.
It was as if she envisaged a day when she would defeat Melody, taking away all her brilliance.
"Melody Thorne, since we’ve started this game, let’s see it to the end. This was just an appetizer," Stella boldly stepped off the stage, blocking Melody’s way.
"At your leisure," Melody’s expression was somewhat arrogant.
As if saying, "Come on, I’m not afraid of anyone." She could do anything, and for all this, she had to thank her former self, obsessed with Jared Quinn, for becoming capable of everything.
Stella felt truly challenged; never had anyone provoked her like this.
Several black lines formed on Rhys’s forehead. Everything about Stella was great, except that she was spoiled and used to ignoring her opponents. Melody was certainly a hidden talent.
From the look of things, just her reckless and willful demeanor had already lost to Melody.
Below the stage, the audience watched wide-eyed as the two women competed from music, chess, calligraphy, and painting to fencing, just a step away from fighting on stage, from the big to the small.
Stella, looking so strong, found herself somehow bested in every round by Melody, to the point where even Rhys was left speechless.
