Chapter 390: Chapter 390: The Terminator of Love

"Enough," Melody Thorne really wanted to kick him, but all her strength had been used up, and her hands were tied with a leather belt above her head...

"Not enough," Jared didn’t withdraw from her and took her to the bathroom to start a new round of attacks.

By the time he finished, Melody Thorne had passed out spectacularly, her body covered in marks left by Jared.

Jared carefully carried her to bathe, had the servants change all the bedding, carried her out, and checked that part of her that was already swollen due to his intense demands. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

He carefully applied some ointment on her, and covered her with a blanket.

Jared thought he had truly been driven insane by that little temptress, hearing her words of hatred but still receiving text messages from her, saying he was the pillar supporting her and Timmy.

Not only that, she also sent messages about her constant love for him.

Jared stood at the window, lit a cigarette, and silently looked outside; love or lack of love were all her words.

He didn’t even know which words to believe, and that was why he’d crazily wanted her as soon as he returned.

When Melody Thorne woke up, it was near evening, her entire body sore to the point she didn’t even want to lift a finger.

"Awake?" Jared’s extremely punchable, cold yet alluring face appeared above her.

Melody Thorne lifted a hand, immediately sat up, and wrapped her arms around his neck, "You’re despicable, Jared."

He had been away for so many days, and she had done her best to watch over the Quinn Family for him, yet he came back just to torment her.

Melody’s body suddenly sprang up, leaping onto Jared.

Because of her sudden pounce, Jared’s tall figure stumbled back two steps, hitting the cabinet behind him and letting out a muffled groan, his expression slightly changing.

How could Melody in her anger notice any of this? Her hands gripped tightly around his neck.

Yet such little force couldn’t shake Jared in the least.

"Still have strength?" Jared’s hand supported her from the back, falling back onto the large bed behind them.

Melody let out a startled cry, realizing only then that she had no clothes on.

"Get off, Jared," Melody’s hands couldn’t help but push him away.

That phrase "get off" seemed to trigger Jared’s most sensitive nerve, subconsciously reminding him of the voicemail he heard before going abroad. His large hands tightly restrained her, glaring down at her like a beast, "Melody Thorne, tell me, do you actually care for me in your heart, or do you want me to stay far away from you?"

In asking this question, his heart, which had never palpitated for anything, was now undeniably turbulent.

Melody opened her mouth to tell him to leave, but Jared interrupted first, "This is your choice. Answer seriously."

The words were on the tip of Melody’s tongue, but she swallowed them back down. If Sheryl Lancaster stripping in front of him hadn’t happened, she might consider more carefully how to respond.

But she also doubted: could a man like Jared really have only one woman in his life?

Although she slept with him every day, wouldn’t he, like other men, quickly grow tired?

What philosopher was it who said that sex is the terminator of love?
