Chapter 369: Chapter 369: Lost Contact

"Ah," Melody Thorne was lost in thought for a moment, almost forgetting she was on her way upstairs. Her toes, clad in slippers, hit the stairs, causing a slight pain that made her gasp a little.

Jared Quinn was constantly restraining himself, wondering whether to hang up the phone. He couldn’t keep being at her mercy, doing whatever she said.

But upon hearing her gasp, the veins on his hand holding the phone involuntarily bulged, pondering over where she was hurt or what she hit, wishing he could go back right away to check on her.

Jared Quinn’s strong heart indeed had self-esteem, and this was the first time he had been so despised by a woman.

"Jared Quinn? I’m going to hang up the phone now, I’ll send you a video later and you must pick it up," Melody Thorne said again with concern.

There was no sound from the other side.

"My foot hurts so much, why is it swollen?" Melody Thorne already lay down on the bed, deliberately expressing her pain.

Jared Quinn’s expression turned sour. She had asked him to stay away, yet now she was trying hard to lure him back.

"Brother Jared," Leon Rivers walked in from outside with a serious face, "They are already waiting for us in the conference room, and it’s time. The content to be discussed is ready. Shall we go now? I’m afraid it’s not good to be too late."

"Hmm," Jared Quinn responded, recalling how that little woman called someone else’s name in her sleep, and resolutely hung up the phone.

Melody Thorne was stunned for a few seconds upon hearing the call disconnect. Jared Quinn actually hung up. He really hung up her call!!

He had no idea she was trying to save him. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Among those business partners, there must be people connected to Titus Quinn. Melody Thorne started feeling uneasy.

But when she tried calling back, Jared Quinn’s phone was already off, and so was Leon Rivers’.

Probably because phones weren’t allowed where they were discussing business.

Melody Thorne felt a headache coming on. How could she possibly warn Jared Quinn?

Should she directly tell him to be careful of Titus Quinn? That he might get seriously injured? That someone wanted to harm him?

A whole night passed, and Jared Quinn’s phone remained off.

"Young Madam, actually there’s no need to worry, Young Master has gone out many times before," the housekeeper noticed and couldn’t help but advise.

The Young Master had been traveling abroad and domestically since he was ten, besides he had Leon Rivers with him.

"Go find Harold Chapman for me," Melody Thorne instructed. Right now, the only one who might be able to stop Titus Quinn was possibly Harold Chapman.

There’s no way to intervene abroad, but perhaps domestically something could be done.

"Okay."

When Harold Chapman arrived, Melody Thorne was almost finished sketching a portrait. She was drawing an older man, someone from overseas, who was also the head of the largest arms trade overseas.

He rarely showed his face, hardly anyone knew what he looked like. Originally, she didn’t know either; in a previous life, Jared Quinn was saved by him after getting seriously injured.

"Young Madam can draw too?" Harold Chapman was curious.

Melody Thorne tossed the pen onto the table, resting her delicate chin on one hand, her eyes filled with worry as she pointed to the portrait she just completed, "I don’t know why, but I had a really bad dream last night. I dreamed there was a traitor next to Jared Quinn, he was seriously injured, and someone rescued him, it was him."
