Chapter 362: Chapter 361 - Vampires?

"Do you think we’ll find vampires in this city? To be honest, I really want to see what they look like—if they’re truly half immortal."

"I’m curious too. I heard from my uncle that physical attacks don’t work against them. What if we try those methods we read about in storybooks? Do you think they’d work on real vampires?"

"Hahaha... Actually, I doubt those tricks would work on real vampires."

Inside Tron City, Maria, Lily, and the others are discussing vampires. Some other warriors join their conversation, also curious about the legends.

It’s been 30 years since vampires disappeared. How could they suddenly show up again?

More importantly, physical attacks supposedly don’t work on them. Maria and the others want to know if that’s actually true. On top of that, those vampires reportedly have strong mental attacks.

"Everyone, try to stick together. We don’t know how many might be out here. There could be some hiding in this place, so staying as a group is our safest option."

Sam suddenly reminds the others not to separate. Maria and the group quickly agree.

"Sigh, even if we don’t find any vampires, I really want to know what supernatural forces are in this city."

No one knows for sure if the city’s strange condition is because of vampires. There might be other blood-sucking monsters here as well.

Normally, they could use their observation technique to scan the city, but some supernatural force is limiting their range. Even Vice Principal Samir can only sense what’s within 500m of himself. This restriction makes everyone more cautious and alert.

Vice Principal Samir divides the team, assigning each group a section of the city to observe. Everyone is told to be extra careful.

It’s a relief that all the ordinary citizens have already evacuated. Everyone else is safe inside the Warrior Association.

So, their investigation can go on without endangering others.

Three hours later,

"As I thought, we didn’t find anything in broad daylight. We should probably wait for nighttime. If there are vampires here, we won’t find them during the day—we’ll have to wait."

After searching for hours, none of the warriors have encountered any monsters or supernatural forces. Despite finding some clues, they’re no closer to finding actual evidence of supernatural beings.

It almost feels like the supernatural forces have completely vanished, much to their frustration.

"Sam, what’s your take? Lily’s right—if these really are vampires, we won’t find them until nightfall. Still, at least we’ve confirmed some supernatural presence remains in the city. They haven’t left, but we don’t know how they’re hiding or how close they might be with our restricted range. I think we should conserve our energy and search at night."

Maria says this to Sam. Lily and the others agree.

"Hmm, you’re right. If they’re really vampires, we’ll have to wait for nighttime. Fortunately, it’s already 4:00p.m., so we don’t have to wait much longer. I’ll go tell Vice Principal Samir. I have a feeling we’re in for trouble tonight."

Sam agrees with Maria and feels a sense of foreboding about the coming night.

Without wasting time, Sam informs Vice Principal Samir.

"Hmm, I think that’s a good plan. At least we won’t be searching the city blindly. I’ll tell everyone to get some rest and we’ll start our investigation around 9:00p.m. If vampires are really here, we’ll find them then."

Vice Principal Samir also supports this plan, feeling it’s best to save their strength for the night.

No one knows just how strong these supernatural forces might be. It’s possible some could be as powerful as Vice Principal Samir himself.

Sam tells his friends and teammates to rest inside a nearby house. At least the three-story building offers a good view of their surroundings.

****

"Ahhhh!!!!"

"Quick! We need to see what’s happening over there!"

At around 8:30p.m., all the warriors in Tron City snap to attention at the sound of a painful scream.

Vice Principal Samir instantly appears at the scene, barely able to keep his composure at what he finds. Luckily, he regains his calm and moves to confront the supernatural attacker.

Sam and the others soon join him, arriving to see a creature with bat-like wings and sharp fangs. But it doesn’t really look like a traditional vampire—it could be some sort of mutated monster.

Fortunately, Vice Principal Samir is with them. Before Sam or the others can react, he springs into action.

A moment later, all the warriors hear the monster’s agonized cries. The creature’s face looks like a bat’s, and its body is covered in black fur.

"Everyone, this is what’s been hiding in the city. It’s not a vampire, but a mutated monster. Its name is Monochula—a mutated vampire bat. They’re monsters, but they look humanoid, and they usually stay near vampires. If we keep searching, there’s a chance we’ll find vampires as well."

"Maria, please heal him. You’re lucky you weren’t bitten. The poison in their teeth will paralyze you for an hour."

Vice Principal Samir explains the dangerous monster, making everyone more serious.

One thing is clear: vampires may also be in the city. Monochulas almost always stick close to vampires—they’re like servants. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Vice Principal Samir doesn’t kill the monster, but captures it instead. He tells everyone to spread out and start searching the city again. But first, everyone is to use their strongest mental defense techniques—they can’t afford to let their guard down, as there could be ambushes.

Sam and his team start searching one area of the city, entering tall buildings one by one. Along with Sam, Maria, and Lily, there are three other team members.

The group decides to split into two teams. Sam, Maria, and another warrior search the west building, while Lily and the remaining members check the building next door.

Tonight, the moon seems different—larger, and its color turning red. A mist is creeping over the city, as if nature itself were warning them that danger is near.

Checking their phones, they notice no signal. Fortunately, that doesn’t bother them.

Still, everyone becomes even more cautious. All the warriors are on high alert, ready to fight.

Luckily, all the teachers and elders from Golden Dawn Academy are still active warriors. Despite their teaching duties, they haven’t forgotten their origins.

Thirty minutes later,

"Guys! Look at the sky. Be ready!"

A warrior shouts to Lily and the others. Hearing this, everyone rushes to the window and sees monsters—dozens of dark shapes—flying in the sky, some diving directly toward them.

Sam and the others see the danger and quickly get ready. Vice Principal Samir also recognizes the threat and prepares to battle.

I just hope there aren’t any actual vampires. I’m not sure if our warriors can fight back against their mind attacks. And with the red mist and moon, it seems like the environment is against us, too. I hope the mist doesn’t hypnotize anyone.

Vice Principal Samir silently hopes none of his people fall under the vampires’ spell.

"Attack!"

After a moment, Vice Principal Samir yells for all the warriors to fight the incoming forces.

The creatures aren’t vampires, but Monochulas. Still, they must be handled with extreme care. The red mist and strange moonlight seem to be making the monsters even stronger.

Suddenly, the battle erupts in the city—humans against monsters in a desperate clash.

Citizens and Warrior Association workers remain hidden in the Association’s headquarters. At least today, compared to yesterday, they feel more courage.

They trust Vice Principal Samir and the warriors. All they can do is wait and hope the warriors triumph without trouble.

Suddenly, they all startle at the sounds of battle—explosions and the crashing of powerful attacks.

"Don’t worry, everyone—I think our warriors have started the fight. We just have to trust them and stay inside. We can’t become a burden. They need to focus entirely on fighting those supernatural threats."

One member of the Warrior Association says this, calming the group, but others express frustration. They know they must not act recklessly or worsen the situation.

Outside, the battle rages between humans and monsters. Warriors attack, and monsters fiercely counterattack.

Sam has already defeated two monsters and now targets a third. He avoids physical attacks, as the monsters and vampires seem resistant. Spiritual energy is required to injure them, and even their weapons need to be infused with it.

Suddenly, Sam’s entire body is enveloped in thunder energy. It’s as if he becomes the embodiment of a thunderstorm. Thunderbolts rain upon the monsters before him.

He gathers his power and unleashes a thunder beam, striking three monsters at once.

He did not stop there and continued to attack those Monsters. Lily beside him is also doing the same thing.

Maria on the other hand attacked those Monsters using sun rays. Those are really effective against those Monsters and the damage rate is really high.

It is really fortunate to have Maria with them. Not just only her but every one of those Warriors who could use light elemental attack also realise this.

This makes them happy and they really wanted to use this opportunity to kill as many Monsters as they can.
